The practice specializes in treatment of different forms of infertility. We offer in vitro fertilization (IVF), donor egg IVF and gestational surrogacy as well as IUIs and ovulation induction.
History
Established in 1984.
Alta Bates In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) was established by Dr. Richard Chetkowski in Berkeley in 1984. Dr. Christopher Herndon joined the practice in August 2011.
The program operated in collaboration with the Alta Bates Medical Center until 2013. The program offers the full range of infertility services including Donor Eggs, Gestational Surrogacy, Egg and Embryo Freezing, IUIs, Ovulation Induction and Reproductive Surgery.
We offer the best of clinical care to infertile couples and single men and women in a warm, comfortable, and supportive setting. Each patient receives personalized care from a single highly experienced physician. Many of our patients have complex infertility factors or have failed treatments elsewhere, so they often benefit from the individualized care, meticulous attention to detail and the depth of clinical experience which are the hallmark of our practice.

Dr. Richard Chetkowski C.

Dr. Chetkowski received his M.D. degree from UCSF in 1978, completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1982 and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at UCLA in 1984.
Dr. Chetkowski is board-certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) as well as Obstetrics & Gynecology. He has published extensively in the field of assisted reproduction, reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI).
Dr. Chetkowski supervises all aspects of the program. His practice includes other forms of infertility treatment, in addition to assisted reproduction.
