Terrible food and service! Waiting nearly 2hrs for delivery, dry chicken and ribs burned, better try other bbq place

Bit into rocks. Deep fried and battered with the calamari. This wasn’t even the low of this meal. Food was universally disappointing in this Chinese owned dive trying to pass off as a Portuguese restaurant. Three of us had a hard time finding any enthusiasm for plate after plate of greasy, unseasoned, previously frozen fare. Come check out, there was no apology for my last bite into rocks. Instead the woman was just rude. She even had the gall to over charge us.

Sometime delivery is delayed but the chicken and shrimp lunch special is always a hit!

I went there for the 2nd time in a year, and the food is not good. Chicken is dry and pork cube is kinda gross. Not coming back. It was a last resort for a quick meal.

We have been eating at Oporto for at least a year now but tonight’s experience was just so good, I wanted to share. My husband and I got delivery(through a very efficient and easy-to-use online ordering system on the Oporto website) and the food was great! We got BBQ chicken, spare ribs(they were out of baby back), and a side order of broccoli rabe. While we have gotten the chicken before, tonight it seemed even more favorable than before, and perfectly cooked. The spare ribs were tender. The veggies were crispy(though under-seasoned, but we took care of that in our kitchen…). The broccoli rabe was great — if you LOVE garlic! ;) I high recommend Oporto. As I mentioned, things seemed to taste better tonight than I remember. Maybe they have started stepping up their game since Sherman BBQ is in town? Maybe I was just super-hungry tonight? Who knows but we are DEF going back to Oporto soon!

The chicken and beef empanadas are amazing! I have had other things from here before but i am consistent with having thwse either as my meal or on the side of my meal. I cant get enough of them. They are made perfectly. The beef empanadas have egg in it. You really can not go wrong with anything you order here. The lunch speacial are $ 5 and everything you order comes with fries and a soda. Its all good to me. I seem to keep going back!

Flavor and value is good but the pork ribs were tough. Seemed like they could have used significantly more time on the BBQ to come anywhere near falling off the bone. Will stick with chicken next time. Kale side tasted like seafood. Not necessarily a bad thing but odd nonetheless. Beans were good but needed salt. Overall we will not hesitate to order again when I don’t feel like cooking! FYI a «dinner» easily feeds 2.

Best Argentine steak around. It’s amazing good and cooked to perfection every time. I highly recommend this place to all friends and family

We go to Opporto often because their food is good. We usually get the pork cubes and shrimp with yellow rice. Though the dish can use more shrimp, it’s a bargain for a half tray of food for $ 15. The bbq chicken and empanadas are good too. If you want dessert, try the flan. It’s yummy. Be sure to place your order ahead of time since they get busy around dinner time and may take up to 30 to cook your food.

I went to get a whole chicken and rice to take home but when I opened it there was hardly any rice and all chicken. Plus at $ 14.99 not exactly a bargain either. Nunzios still the best for me!

Amazing. Food is cheap and you get alot for only $ 8. Owner is extremely nice and the food does not take long to cook. I’m definitely coming back here more often.

This place has officially gone to crap. Although the food remains somewhat decent their staff is inept. My friend had to assist an employee with taking an order because he didn’t speak English very well. Are you kidding me??? Yes, we laughed a lot about it. The wait time for meals that are other than chicken(which is constantly bbq’ing) is ridiculous! Last 3 visits had an average wait time from order to food served of 30 minutes!!! My friends and I have promised ourselves we will not return. Only reason why it’s not 1 star is because of the food.

Good food. Great portions at a great price. Especially the lunch specials. The BBQ chicken, rice and black beans were tasty as well as filling.

These guys do meat very well. We ordered the chicken… the best around. The ribs were on the fatty side… but this may be the type of pig it comes from? The veggies as a side are great… However, ordered a side of corn… tasted like it came straight from the can.

We were visiting from out of town and stopped by this place for lunch. We had chicken, ribs, chorizo, plus some vegi and rice sides and great fries. The meat was tender and very tasty. The portions, as the previous reviewer had noted, were very generous. If you like BBQed food, especially with an interesting spin, you’ve got to try this place. You can eat in for a casual meal or do take out.

Disappointing. Not as good as the BBQ place in Martinsville. A far cry from the flavorful(but salty) chicken at the RT28BBQ place in Bound Brook. Marinade tastes commercial(not made locally or a bad brand)…chicken was dry… it wasn’t well marinated. I also did’t see anyone basting the chicken in the 15 minutes while it was cooking on the coals. Rice was very greasy… not the Latino style yellow rice you typically find in most places. Chorizzo was gross. The experience was the equivalent of putting ketchup on spaghetti… which these people would do if they opened up an Italian restaurant.

Limited menu, but what they have is good. Centered on bbq meats. Garlic chicken was great. Good veggies mix side. Yellow rice good. Ribs needed more sauce for my tastes, but was easy/available to add. Portions are for very hearty appetites so be prepared for leftovers as a good second meal. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Good alternative to BH pizza’s. Will definitely go back. BBQ when you don’t feel like DIY.

Stopped here last night for dinner with the wife and baby. We sat in and enjoyed OK food. The food honestly reminded me of family home cooking done out. The portions were large and good. The rice, and veggies were good. The meat was also good. We got some wings, some ribs and a chicken sandwich. It was authentically cooked and overall good, but not spectacular. They say you can eat in, but its not really up to that level of eating in. For take out its very good. Go here and try it but take it home and you’ll be happy.
