Our Sunday evening spot. Every time we come here my wife has to get her Sanchoco and oxtails and the kids also go in.. It’s so good thats why we come every Sunday…

Lula’s is a great little spot to pick up some affordable Spanish food. Ambience: The décor is very simple, nothing fancy. They have a lunch buffet counter where they have some of their regular fare prepared. Food: The food was well made, tasty and portions were good. I had the lemon chicken which I enjoyed a lot and my wife had the cod fish w/potatoes stew which was okay. We also had a side order of Tostones(Fried Plantains) and a beef empanada. Our entrees came with a mixed green salad and side of rice and beans. You can expect the typical dishes you’d find at any Dominican restaurant here(ie. Pernil, Carne Guisada, Chaufa.) Value: Everything was very inexpensive and we felt we got a good value on our meal. Service: Very attentive and friendly wait staff. Location: Lula’s is in a decent blue collar area, street parking is not too hard to find as it’s on the main street and there are lots nearby where you can park.

I purchased several trays for a Christmas Eve party from here. One of them was arroz con pollo, but all I got was the arroz with one tiny piece of chicken in a large tray. How embarrassing it was to serve to this tray to my guests! And the owner of the restaurant assured me I did not have to open up the order to check it because he put«lots of chicken» in the tray. I feel deceived. The rice didn’t even taste all that good either.

Good food, when they have it! I ordered a combo with chicken and rice for delivery 3 different times and they didn’t have it. Additionally, they waited an entire hour to notify me that they didn’t have it! The service is slow and what good restaurant continuously runs out of CHICKEN! It’s only CHICKEN! SMH. I won’t ever be eating here again! So disappointing when I restaurant doesn’t have a simple dish over and over again!

I’ve been going to Lula’s for years now and always have a great experience. Lula is an amazing person and chef, always greeting customers personally and checking up on them. Very fair prices and nice sized portions. Best empanadas, pernil, beef stew. Highly recommend.

I am pleasantly surprised with this place. Given the great, affordable prices I didn’t expect great quality. Few times now I had the Garlic Chicken Stew and Spicy Shrimp and they are REALLY good! I also tried their homemade Mango milkshake and it was delicious! Can’t beat when quality and good prices meet!

The food was not good. We had high hopes since this place came with good recommendations. The meat in the Lomo Saltado was tough and over salted. The steak sandwiches were dry and had no flavor. They just took some of the tough meat from the Lomo Saltado and threw it on the bread. The only thing we liked was the maduros, which are hard to mess up and the store bought flan. Won’t be back.

Food is good but last time I went there I couldn’t even get to-go service and the five staff members that went in and out of the kitchen and behind the counter staff didn’t even pay attention to the customers in front of them. Not even a word or gesture to say they were busy with phone orders or whatever it was they were doing. We had waited more than 10 min and ended up walking out frustrated.

Always delicious. I am never disappointed with the hospitality and with the food. They always give such delicious food and then it’s always so affordable I especially love their papaya milkshakes, and yuca rellenas.

Followed my fellow Unilocalers’ reviews and I’m glad I did! I didn’t want to get the usual chicken, beef, pork fare, so I ordered the Goat Stew/Chivo Guisado(a Daily Special), which was heavenly. It’s more like Braised Goat instead of a stew though. The bone just slips right off the goat meat. It’s a tomato based sauce, so even though there’s a lot of fat floating in the rich, flavorful sauce, it tastes surprisingly light. FYI — They always have the Goat Stew except for Thursday. When they were explaining the various dishes they mentioned the roast pork and shredded beef are their best sellers. Will have to go back and try them!!! The place has a lot of sit-down tables, but they’re also a casual take-out place, which is great if you’re in the mood for something quick.(The daily specials are already made, so you can be out in less than five) They deliver and accept credit cards as well.

Okay, this place has the best Mangu! I used to go to NY to get it… no more! Their Roast Pork was amazing and so was the Moro. It is very clean, not greasy, and they were very pleasant & helpful. Also, a nice variety of foods. Will definitely go back!

First Dominican food experience. Only found this gem because of Unilocal.Passed up a lot of places to get here and almost stopped somewhere else. Glad we didn’t. This place is excellent. Food was tasty and served with kindness. This will be one of my favorites. I highly recommend. I really appreciate them explaining the food choices to help us decide. Two thumbs up!

So glad to have found this amazing place! Ordered the carne guisado and it was full of meat, no fat. The rice and black beans were super delicious and not over seasoned, just perfect. I’ve been looking for a decent Spanish restaurant around here for so long that’s tastes like home made and you guys nailed it. Keep up the great work.

My spot for local Spanish food. Reminds my of moms cooking. We’re Rican & they are Dominican but the food is good & they deliver.

Happy to have this dominican restaurant so close to my home. Food was delicious… will come back for mondongo(tripe soup). The girl who took care of me was also very friendly and patient. I tried their cheese and guava empanadas… they were so yummy I ordered them twice. Will be back very soon.

I gotta say this place is a diamond in the rough. Absolutely delicious Dominican cuisine. I had the seco guisado which is a goat stew, and my wife had the shrimp mofongo. They were top notch! The flavoring was on the money. Not too salty and not too saucy. It was just right. If you like Spanish food you will not go wrong here.
