Best Turon around. I can say the food is good but the male owner is rude. He never says thank you or hello and doesn’t even smile at you. He needs lessons on how to treat customers. After all, without customers, they would not be in business.

Love their food! It’s tastes so much like home cooking and how my mother used to cook our meals. Just super delicious! The lumpia shanghai, caldereta, karekare, chicken tinola, beefsteak and just about everything is very good. The special banana TURON(with ripe jackfruit) is so crunchy and does not turn soggy even if it’s no longer warm. The place is Turo-Turo style with just a few tables for dining in. It’s very convenient too coz they also sell groceries. Oh, and they have the best spaghetti with meatballs and meatballs with white sauce! A must try!

Ate here after a post 40 mile bike ride to benefit superstorm Haiyan victims in the Philippines. This turo-turo restaurant /grocery in Bergenfield New Jersey hits the spot. The had excellent a cheap combo special for $ 5, choice of two entrees plus rice, the dinuguan and sauteed ampalaya was soooooo goooood!!! Great food for post ride recovery and replenishment :) It’s a small place for eating but very clean, a great place to get your Filipino kitchen essentials and take out meals. The owner is very nice and rides his bikes with a group on weekends to Piermont, Nyack and Bear Mountain NY, the ride starts from his store. They even have a few bike stands to park your bike. Nice! As a side note the Asian American Food Mart also assisted in collecting donations for the Haiyan victims. That is tops in my books. Salamat Mang Fred and Asian American Food Mart.

Delicious authentic Ethnic Filipino foods from different provinces of the Philippines. Generous portions at reasonable prices. It’s the go to place to pick up «Turon» but must call ahead so that its fresh and crispy. They can supply catered foods for your big party.

Asian American Food Mart(AAFM) can be described as a boutique business when compared to more established Filipino stores/restaurants in the area. They are definitely not as big as Jollibee or even Sunrise Oriental in Hackensack. But they do offer hot food(turo-turo) and cater. The food is decent. I’d recommend the Giniling and Pinakbet but not much else. As far as the store is concerned, they carry your basics: baked goods canned items various styles of chicharron dry goods like noodles, rice, and Sky Flakes Oh ma… Sky Flakes… probably the best cracker I’ve ever had. Every Filipino market carries them so don’t think that AAFM is the sole distributor. That would be intense…
