Food is A+ and that’s not just me as an employee saying that, but as someone who spends almost all my pay buying their food because it’s so good! I know many of the people working there and I will say they are all very nice sweet and respectful people, if there is a problem, the fix it immediately and apologize, that’s a nice person and great service!

Mike and Diverse Catering were recommended to us by our wedding planner, and we could not have been any happier with our decision.
We were asked to do a tasting which is typical for many, if not most, caterers. My wife and I figured we would be seated with other future couples to taste the various menu options. Nope; we were seated in a private tasting with Mike and his delicious menu options. It was a great introduction to the type of business Mike operates: classy, personal, happy to please.
The food was exceptional. We had been to various weddings over the years and nothing compared to the creations and entrees Mike put together. From the hors d’oeuvres to appetizers to the main meal, both my wife and I were blown away.
Although we had hired a wedding planner, Mike’s insight throughout the planning process and execution during the reception was spot on. He was «johnny on the spot» for many things over the course of the night.
In addition to the wonderful meal Diverse Catering served, Mike’s crew was super polite and helpful. He assigned one of his team to make sure my wife and I were taken care of all night. This added touch simply made the already amazing experience that much more enjoyable.
You have no need to look elsewhere for your wedding needs!

Can’t say enough about Mike, his staff and Diverse Catering. I had to plan a rehearsal dinner long distance and he took care of everything, even recommending his friend to do beautiful floral centerpieces (thanks, Rick!). The food was over the top delicious, had many guests come up to me to compliment. And the service was outstanding. Every detail was taken care of, so I could relax and tend to my guests. Only wish this company was in my hometown-​I would entertain more often!

Imagine having a bride cry on the phone a week before the wedding because the venue is overbooked, everyone said yes and now menus have to change– this was Mike’s experience and Mike said ‘you are the bride, we will do whatever we can!’ And he did! People are still talking about the Mac & Cheese and my aunt and uncle have been trying to recreate our catfish with spicy mustard ap for weeks! The perogi reminded me of my Grandmother’s! My husband and I come from three cultures and we wanted a caterer with the ability to capture those meals to share with our new families. Mike not only did it, but he went above and beyond and even changed from stations to family style as more family flew out for our wedding. It was the perfect choice and he did an amazing job! He isn’t just involved in food, he was at every meeting, every phone call– he even picked up something he didn’t have to that I forgot! I feel like Mike loves what he does, not just catering, but weddings too and I KNOW my friends will go to him! Also, we were on a budget (isn’t everyone?) and I went to 10 caterers– not only was he one of the few with a tasting (and we tasted and approved everything) but his per person cost for a Philadelphia wedding can not be touched! Love Mike and loved our day! (Wedding was 6÷27÷15)

I recently attended a wedding catered by this company. They were very professional AND super friendly. Their food was incredibly good and delicious. The servers were attentive, always smiling, and took care of everything.

Failed to deliver!!! Could not recommend Ken Correll to anyone! He recently catered a party that was a very important event for our family. The food was ok but overpriced and the the service was awful. When I called Ken Correll after the event to discuss our dissatisfaction; he just didn’t care.

Diverse did our wedding and we’re so glad they did. Not only was the food phenomenal — even better than the tasting — the event was well-​run. We didn’t need to do a thing but show up and have fun. Everything was set up exactly as we wanted. And when it was time to carry on to the after party, we did just that while they took everything down and packed it away.
Ken and Mike were professional and knew the right questions to ask. The staff they brought to the event did everything right. The evening flowed exceptionally well — all thanks to the planning they helped us with and their execution of it.
They were completely on top of it and completely at ease. Be at ease yourself — hire them!

We love Ken & his team!!! From the very beginning Ken was so easy to work with and share ideas to create our perfect day. I was worried at first trying to find a caterer who would be able to work within my dietary needs, and it was no issue for Ken at all. Ken even made gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options for some of my guests. Everyone raved about the food; the Moroccan Salmon was my favorite I think. My good friend said, «It was the freshest food, I have ever eaten at a wedding». Everyone also noticed how attentive and catering Ken and his entire staff was the whole night.
Although our entire outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour were rained out, Ken assured me, that everything would still go smoothly — and it did! I was so happy that day, I couldn’t stop laughing & smiling.

In complete honesty, words cannot describe how impressed my wife and I were with Ken and Diverse Catering; nothing we write here will ever explain how well he ran our event. But of course, I’ll try.
For starters, Ken was extremely flexible with our budget. We started off with a slighter tighter budget than we ended with, and felt like he gave us exceptional packages in every category. Then, along the way, he served as our very own wedding consultant, answering every question thoroughly and thoughtfully. He knew our venue (Bartram’s Garden) better than anybody, and was able to walk us through all the details with strong clarity. Ken was so detail-​oriented we entered our wedding day without any concerns – and that was huge!
And of course, the food was delicious. I can’t tell you how many guests came up to us and commented on the quality of the food. Ken helped us craft an elegant menu that everybody enjoyed.
I’m missing many of the little details that make Ken and Diverse exceptional – like his individual care for each of his couples, his knack for taking care of EVERYTHING on the wedding day, his beautifully-​decorated buffet table, his communication with other vendors, and his overall kindness – so you’ll have to find out for yourself.
I can’t imagine that caterers come better than Ken. Highly, highly recommended.

Why am I on Unilocal on day two of my honeymoon? It’s because I can’t stop thinking about how wonderful, Mike Schmidt of Diverse Catering is. We worked with Mike for our Bala Cynwyd wedding and he delivered far beyond our expectations. Mike was honest and thoughtful throughout the entire process. When we asked for a dish, that wouldn’t be ideal for the masses, he gently pushed us in a better direction. Our Southern Inspired menu was design «fresh green salad with poached pears and cashews, blackened catfish and breast of chicken, four-​cheese baked macaroni, sauteed spinach, and buttermilk biscuits.» The most important thing to know about Mike is not only does Diverse do wonderful food, their event design is superb. 120 votive candles – done, gum paste flowers on cake, done, menus, place cards, timeline to the T – DONE. I will use diverse again and again. You can’t count on Mike for everything from working within your budget to ensuring that your wedding song gets played at the exact second. Seriously, support a small and fantastic business, you won’t be disappointed.

Ken catered our wedding and it was fantastic! He was incredibly flexible about meeting our guests diverse dietary needs, staying within our budget, and yet producing a high end and appealing menu. He even gave helpful suggestions on set-​up of the site and coordinated our last minute wedding rehearsal. I highly recommend Diverse Catering.

I can’t recommend Diverse Catering enough. The deal with wedding food usually is: it’s the most expensive & least memorable part of the reception. Diverse Catering helped us buck this trend in a big way. With our input, they created an absolutely amazing autumnal, vegetarian-​friendly (but with meat also), locally-​sourced, family style dinner that included over 7 dishes. I can’t count the number of people who came up to us to report that it was far and away the BEST food they had ever eaten at a wedding. I heartily agreed & consider myself to be a discerning eater who regularly pays good money to eat good food in restaurants. And the cost was significantly less (like, in the thousands) than our other bids.
The best part, though, was how far above and beyond the call of duty they went. They helped us save money throughout by using their local contacts & common sense. They helped us with the design of the room and other aesthetic parts of set-​up. They were incredibly friendly to our family and friends — I really felt like they had all (staff included) become our family and friends by the end. They even drove my husband’s forgotten bag of spare shoes across town at the end of a long night and hand-​delivered them to us at the hotel bar. Amazing.
Use Diverse Catering if you want to work with people who care more about their craft & keeping it fun than they do about making $$$.
