Practice makes perfect, and sadly my teenage figure skating lessons did not help me stay upright on the ice. Thankfully I didn’t break anything and the bruising was only to my ego and not my body! The new ice rink is a great addition to Bend though! The staff were super attentive. Rental skates are new and clean, whether figure skates or hockey skates. They have assisted skating devices for little ones learning. I probably could have used one for myself. No more waltz jumps or backward skating for me! Beautiful view, and I love that it’s outdoors. Great way to spend a day with kiddos, and get there soon because they close for the season on April 3rd!

Went this busy MLK weekend but still had a great time! Rink sort of busy but still felt like we could maneuver around without bumping into anyone on the rink. Prices were about average for session and skate rental. The food to buy was also average for a place where you can’t really go anywhere else. $ 4.90 for a hot cider and large pretzel. The rink is on the colder side since its outside but is sheltered from the wind and rain. I would advise gloves for your hands. They played good music to keep you moving. There is a decent size outside area to watch the skaters but it is colder than the rink itself. The inside warm area is not very large but does have several tables if you want to sit and have a snack. The lockers to store your shoes are only .25 cents! And there was no shortage even though there were lots of people. They also had these walker type contraptions for beginner skaters to use if they wanted. I have never seen those before and seemed like a decent option for nervous beginners! If you like skating there are 10 pass discounts too! Overall I had a great time and suggest this as an outing everyone should try:)
