History

Established in 2009.

Our name, Studio Absolute, is born from the mathematical term, «absolute value» meaning distance from zero. We begin every new project as if we are starting from zero – taking nothing for granted and evaluating all possible directions to realize a creative and practical solution.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-​level creative with a small and nimble staff. With over 35 years of combined experience, we’ve likely worked in your business sector.

Crafting and refining brands for two decades.

Russ’ portfolio includes work recognized by the Oregon Advertising Federation and the publications Visual Marketing, LogoLounge Books 7 & 9 and LogoLounge Master Library. In addition to his portfolio of national brands, Russ has overseen, designed and directed many notable local and regional projects including brand identities for Lenity Architecture, Cuppa Yo Frozen Yogurt, Bernhardt Organic Coffee, The No-​Bake Cookie Co. and Groza Construction.

Russ is self-​taught and credits his success in design and typography to the love of the craft and years of mentorship under a veteran Creative Director in the branding field. Russ has had the opportunity to work on projects for Krusteaz, Ghirardelli Chocolate and Thomas Nelson Publishers. His emphasis on strategy-​driven design and strong typography drives the successful projects that channel through the studio.
