ALERT to Bend Residents: Smolich Chrysler has a TERRIBLE service department. After taking a used Chrysler minivan for a pre buyers inspection, we specifically told them about a clunky sound in the front end (which they noted on our paper work). All they found that needed repaired was the oil pan gasket and tie rod ends. After purchasing the vehicle and fixing the two items they found the clunky noise continued. We then had it inspected by Les Schwab and within 10 minutes Les Schwab found that the bushings needed replaced. Chrysler specifically noted on the pre buy inspection paperwork that they inspected the bushings! Clearly they did not. I asked Chrysler if they would fix this free of charge since they missed this even though we alerted them to the noise and they noted they inspected the bushings. They declined since we didn’t buy the vehicle from them! Terrible TERRIBLE service. Never take your vehicle here. Not to mention, during our pre inspection their customer service was terrible. We had to find someone to actually have one of the guys at the service desk pay attention to us to check out. There were three gentlemen at their service desks, all three ignored us as we stood in front of them for 10 minutes. I will also note, that if Chevy does a pre buy inspection and they miss something, they will cover the repair at no cost to the customer. Sad sad Smolich!

i was in a unique situation and these guys worked to fine me exactly what I needed in a car and in a lender. I am super happy with my experience here, and would recommend Tim Soucie and Smolich Motors to anyone looking to buy a new vehicle.

Tried to talk to service manager about a lingering issue after requesting assistance with some safety concerns. They rerouted my inquiry to some non manager who was rude, ran roughshod over my wife and I then refused us access to anyone in charge. Called other management personnel including Mike Smolich to try and straighten out the obvious internal gaff. Unresponsive. Wrote and hand delivered a kind and respectful letter to the owner in an effort to resolve — no response. Later received threats they would dump my vehicle in a junk yard from someone I had never heard of or met.
Denied access to local service for my in warranty vehicle, I now go to Subaru and Ford for service then send the receipts to Chrysler for reimbursement. I hope you are proud of what you have done Mike Smolich and crew, although I don’t think you know or understand what it is you are doing. You don’t own the community. You are merely a part of it and you are here to serve its members.
In exchange for your reliable and faithful service we feel comfortable spending money with you, that is, if we trust you and are able to enjoy positive customer experiences when we need service. When this happens, you thrive. If not we can go elsewhere. When this happens, your business declines. In our case, my wife and I also recently bought vehicles from Carerra/​Kendall and Robberson. Both good experiences.
Oddly, you stupidly thought you could deny us access to a service manager, and ultimately all service, while inviting and apparently expecting us to continue to purchase from you, (as quoted from the person (acting sales manager ?) who threatened to dump our vehicle in a junk yard).
What in the world are you doing?
Unfortunately for your dealership, we have been invited to provide our negative feedback to JD Power. Regrettably, we have had escalate the matter to the Chrysler Cares, the Board of Directors of Fiat Chrysler and President of Chrysler North America to get satisfaction. They have been patient and understanding. Recently they informed us the dealership has been RED FLAGGED and is listed as a «non recommended dealership» due to such incidents.
Strange boys «club behavior» in an otherwise friendly town.

We just purchased our 2^nd vehicle from here. Always have had a great experience. I always hate when you go to a car dealership and are looked at like piece of meat, but we never felt that way here! Great car, great price, great service.

We bought our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in Feb from Smolich. We were really pleased with the price and how smooth everything went. We were getting ready to leave on vacation and I saw oil dripping out from underneath the jeep. I took it over to the dealership and they took it right in and fixed it. Amazing customer service and dealership. Highly recommend. Thanks Smolich Motors for raising the bar!

Had a pretty frustrating experience here with some major repairs to my sprinter van. But they are now helping me to get everything fixed that wasn’t done so properly at first.

Steven Brown «Chipper» was awesome to deal with. Pleasant, easy going, no pressure approach made it a better buying experience. Will call him next time I need another vehicle. Smolich worked with me on price and was reasonable. Will be back again.

Recently dropped my Chrysler 300 to have front door key lock repaired… at end of day my son picked up the car and paid a fifty-​five dollar charge and drive it home. We later discovered to door lock still did not work!
I called the service department at Smolich Chrysler and inquired what had happened and why the door lock still did not work. The service tech replied the mechanic has removed the inside door panel to diagnose the repairs and a part would need to be ordered and the repair would cost us $ 285 (plus the $ 55 diagnosis charge of course).
I asked why «not a call» from the service tech regarding the repair needed and the costs to do the repair and he replied that that information was listed on the service receipt when my son picked up our car. Hmmmm.
This is the second such time this has happened to me at Smolich. I forget what happened the first time at Smolich but I recall it required me to look at my service receipt to discover repairs needed. I want to say it was leaky power steering hoses. I just recall that I would have wanted to know by way of a phone call from the service tech… and yes there was a diagnosis charge,
***So regarding the door lock issue… a friend recommended I take my car to Car Kare in Bend (Del and Leon) to have my door lock looked at and in the end… the door panel was removed, a part was needed plus they brought in a locksmith because the tumblers in the lock needed lubricated and there was needed a repair to the tumblers… and the best news yet my charge was only $ 140, diagnosis, locksmith, parts and labor and all… and a phone call to boot about the repairs needed.

Buying our car here was such a pleasure!!!
Sonia was a peach! From the moment we walked in the the moment we left, she was so attentive. She never let another customer (or finishing her lunch) get in the way of providing excellent customer service!
The general manager and my husband bonded over soccer which really made us feel comfortable.
Tom was great at explaining things but not pressuring us! We felt like we were fully informed of the financial aspect when we were done!
And Gena was amazing is recommending this place and having James reach out to us! We feel so good about our purchase and the customer service that was given to us (they even washed our new car despite the fact that the wind was blowing 25mph and spraying it was dust)!
And Jennifer with Allstate made the transition from State Farm to Allstate, a no brainer!

I have always been completely satisfied with their service department as well as sales.

Time for the service staff at Smolich to undergo some serious customer service training. Make an appointment for 7:30 AM and be on time and then be told that the Service Department doesn’t open until 8:00 AM. WTH??? Order a replacement part on the 2^nd of September, be told it will be a couple of weeks. Check on it today and be told that it was at their service department on the 9^th and they called me. did not get a call, and the counter person said that maybe I gave them the wrong number!!! NOT!!! and the part doesn’t even have all the little nuts and parts to install it. I will make do because I sure as h*** am not going to deal with these bozos again.

Be wary of certain sales folks: Doug gave me false information (lied) to me about my car’s Kelly Blue Book value, repair costs, flaws and the value of the SUV I wanted to buy. I only discovered this upon getting home and checking sources. The salesman assured me of his accuracy and when confronted with the truth he replied, «I just wanted to start low and work up.» Lame excuse. In addition they claims they can’t work numbers over the phone because of privacy, this is a lie. It’s company policy to have hard selling tactics. These guys are shady and are willing to lie to make a sale. If you go to Smolich, bring a lot of research material, a laptop and calculator because they’ll do their best to rip you off.

These people are so dishonest. We’ve bought many new cars over the years… always pay cash, but will never go there again! We wanted a new tow car for our rv but they wouldn’t even give us a price. They wanted us to agree to buy the car without giving us a contract! We’ve never seen anything like it! They wasted our time. We walked out! Very unprofessional and dishonest!

They sent me home with my Sprinter RV that was dangerous and not road worthy. It died on highway going home after dispersing diesel fuel over engine and I was lucky to coast off to the side of road. Even after telling them that the fuel filter they had just replaced was leaking, they did not want to assume responsibility. A wasted potentially disastrous afternoon waiting and driving back and forth 30 miles twice, and without an apology. All this after incredibly high charges for simple services, and an RV that reeks of diesel fumes still.

I recently purchased a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie from Smolich Dodge. I live in Eugene and was actively looking for about a week for the right truck at the right price. I found some good deals in Portland but hadn’t looked as far as Bend yet. When I was locating a truck on the Ram website I expanded my search and a vehicle at Smolich popped up. So I picked up the phone and was randomly connected to my salesman, Sean S. I told him about the truck that they had and asked for pricing. After a little bit of haggling I got them close to what one of the huge dealers in Portland was offering, as well as a very fair number on my 2014 model trade in. I normally wouldn’t want to make the drive from Eugene to Bend, as it’s a 300+ mile round trip. But it was worth the effort for this deal.
When I got to the dealership my new truck was waiting and ready to go. We took it for a quick spin to make sure everything was to my satisfaction, and it was. I was in and out of the finance office in less than 45 minutes, a new record! Charles D, the finance manager was very friendly and professional. There were no issues with hidden add-​ons or high pressure sales tactics for extended warranties, paint sealant etc.
It’s too bad that my local dealership wasn’t able to earn my business, but in the end I was thrilled with my sales experience at Smolich. Sean and Charles are a real asset to the sales team and were a real pleasure to work with, and in 6 – 12 months I will be back for another car or truck!

I wish every service entity took their work as much to heart as these people do.
So completely thorough and caring and committed to doing excellent work.

I purchased a new Jeep Cherokee at Smolich a few weeks ago and I want to aknowledge my salesman, Tim Soucie, who spent several hours with me making sure I was getting the right vehicle. At no point did I feel pressured, disrespected or ignored. If I decide to get anothe Jeep in the future, I will get it at Smolich.

I don’t need to make you read a long drawn out story about my experience here, so lets just say that I didn’t have the opportunity to deal with any sort of honest person here. I received a mailer indicating that my truck was of desire for trade in. Unfortunately they wanted to give me about $ 10,000 less than blue book for it which didn’t make any sense. In any case and long story short, they didn’t use the Costco auto program as they are supposed to (a huge program violation for Costco dealers) then when it came time to finalize our purchase, the salesman says to us «so are we gonna get this done or are you just wasting my time today?» …Nice huh? Really gave me a warm fuzzy feeling… To which I responded, «Nope, I’ll go to Portland to but my truck before I spend a penny here.» I happily took my truck and $ 15,000 in cash to PDX the following weekend.

It’s been awhile. But I decided I am going to start really focusing on my reviews. Why? Because there are a lot of great businesses in Bend. But sadly there are a ton of bad ones. These are places where customer service is apathetic at best and where totally arbitrary and ungracious and often arrogant sales policies abound. So, to start things off with my new zeal, another bad review.
Maybe they treat you better in person or when you drop your new vehicle off for service. What I got on the phone when I called regarding my 20 year old Jeep was a total lack of interest. Like, if I wasnt on board for a big dollar repair, they couldnt be bothered.
When I finished the phone call and said thank you for his time, his response was a really feeble «ya, bye…» and then, click… Chalk another one up for customer dis-​service…
I put the phone down and went straight to Unilocal

All my girlfriend wanted for Christmas was a remote key FOB for her 2001 Volvo V70XC. I called a couple of local Volvo mechanics and was told Smolich was the only shop in town with the required diagnostic equipment. I went to the parts department desk and was told the FOB *including* programming would be $ 97. I ordered it and was told by the same person it would be there in 3 business days and they would call me when it had arrived.
No one called me and about two weeks later I went back. The person said he had «no idea what was happening» and ordered it again. Again, no call and I went back a week later. This time a different person checked the computer and said it was there but he could not find it. The next day someone said it was here and would I like to schedule a time to bring the car in and have it programmed.
I brought the car in and after a 2-​hour wait, the service rep said it was ready. However, the bill came to $ 177, not the $ 97 as originally quoted. Worse, when I tried to use the FOB it didn’t work. At all.
The service rep called a mechanic to come out and both of them were confused as to why it wouldn’t work. Finally, they said I had to come back in for yet another appointment. He claimed the FOB was faulty and they needed to order a new one.
Then, after another 2-​hour wait, the same thing happened. They said it was ready, and when I tested it, nothing. After being asked to wait again, finally the rep informs me that there is a problem with my RF receiver module, and that it was going to cost $ 524 to replace it.
I asked for a refund since I had already paid $ 177 and was not given a working FOB. I pointed out that it was their responsibility to diagnose this issue beforehand. They disagreed and said there was no way they could have known.
So I am out $ 177 with absolutely nothing to show for it. In my opinion this was clearly fraudulent price gouging. Please be warned there are shady practices at Smolich Motors!
