History

Established in 1985.

Joe Senior grew up in the Bronx and helped his father run many businesses including service stations, body shops and wrecking yards. He left in ’71 and headed out west on his motorcycle for California where he found a job in Huntington Beach building engines and working the pit crew for car racer Parnelli Jones. He moved north to Bend in ’76 where he helped open the Sears Service Shop where he worked as head mechanic until ’85, when he decided it was time to open up his own station on Bend’s Westside.

Joe Junior has worked at the garage since he was 13. Aside from a brief stint in Stockton, California, he’s been helping his father run the Shell for most of his life. He studied auto mechanics for two years at COCC and is a ASE Certified Master Technician, but he credits most of his expertise to the experience he’s had actually fixing cars instead of learning about them.
