There are a rare few people who are born to a true calling, and Ely Roberts is undoubtedly one of them. He came highly, highly recommended by my chiropractor, and the instant I saw his online portfolio, I knew I had encountered something remarkable and unique. My excitement doubled when I showed my fiancé his pictures and they were met with equal admiration. We both agreed that his pictures were exceptionally polished – and romantic – without being the least bit corny. So many photographers these days resort to the trendy, soft-​focus, Instagram-​inspired, filtered look, and people eat it up without a second thought as to how the photos will age over the years. Ely’s photos are timeless and classic, while maintaining cutting edge clarity and artistry. We were so confident in his abilities that we decided to make a deposit with little to no consideration for any other photographer. We have not been disappointed.
From our first correspondences, Ely demonstrated exceptional professionalism. There is such an ease and lightness to his personality that one immediately feels comfortable when working with him. This is particularly comforting when you realize that you will *hopefully* be looking at your engagement and wedding photos, as well as sharing them with friends and family, for the rest of your life. Ely traveled over 100 miles and shot at three locations with us for over 3 hours to ensure that we would have perfect photos that we would be able to cherish forever. Less than a week after our shoot, he provided us with a link to over 300 professionally edited photos, and many of them were nothing short from breathtaking. We purchased the engagement/​wedding package from him and cannot wait to work with him for our wedding. We expect it will be a breeze and he will provide us with priceless memories of our special day.
Anyone who is on the fence about retaining Ely as their photographer should just take the plunge. When you consider how quickly a wedding day goes by, and how fleeting the experience may be, you will be glad to invest in someone you can trust to capture its one-​in-​a-​lifetime magic.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Ely for our engagement photos and wedding photos. We were a little nervous about a full day of portraits for our engagement shoot but Ely and his wife Abby instantly made us feel at ease and worked so hard to capture gorgeous shots of us all around San Luis Obispo. They made the day a lot of fun for us and we even got to do some wine tasting! We were so pleased with how all the photos turned out. They are truly spectacular and better than we could’ve ever imagined!
Our wedding day was captured by Ely and Chris. They showed up right on time, were prepared, went above and beyond, and worked hard together all day as a team to capture our day. Ely is incredibly talented and a true professional. He has such a warm personality that makes working with him such a joy. Only a week and a half (!) later, we received an email from Ely that all the photos from our wedding day were edited and ready to be viewed! They are so beautiful, Ely and Chris did a great job of capturing each moment and surprising us with so many gorgeous photos. We look forward to enjoying these photos for the rest of our lives!

We are so happy and impressed with all of our wedding/​engagement photos taken by Ely! Ely was fantastic to work with! From initially meeting him it was like we had already been friends for a while. His professional yet friendly demeanor made both photoshoots comfortable and so much fun. Ely took us all over the place for our engagement photos to make the most of the entire day, including staying out until dark to get the most amazing sunset photos. Now on to our wedding… the pictures alone were better than we ever imagined and to top it off Ely and his assistants hard work ethic and professionalism stood out not only to us but our guests as well. My husband and I without a doubt are extremely happy we used Ely as our photographer. To top it off he emailed us many preview pictures just a few days after the wedding which was exciting for us to see. We can’t say enough good things about Ely and his amazing photography skills. Ely shot our engagement photos and our wedding last month. We absolutely loved him and his wife, Abby. Both were unbelievable responsive and eager to do a good job. They went above and beyond in every aspect. They showed up two days before our wedding (before any of the other guests arrived) to scout locations and lighting at different times of the day. They came to our rehearsal dinner and took photos. The guests loved them, as they were very polite and thoughtful. I really don’t have enough good things to say. We love our photos and highly recommend Ely.

We found Ely in a sea of photographers across central coast wedding vendor boards, and were immediately impressed with his ability to capture the entirety of the weddings he had shot. After meeting him and getting to know him over the course of our wedding planning, we know that we couldn’t have picked anyone better.
Ely did a great job from day 1 of making us feel confident that he was taking care of everything. He traveled up to the SF bay area to shoot our engagement photos, and while the shoot took almost 2 hours, it wasn’t because he was going slow. We shot a dozen different spots around our college campus, and even had an outfit switch, and the whole time he was laid back and didn’t rush us. And we were extremely happy with the final engagement shots he delivered to us.
As for the wedding day, he was in contact with us in the days before figuring out timing & details, and then showed up early the day of to scope out shooting locations for the wedding. He was always on time and prepared whenever he met with us, and did a great job capturing our ceremony & wedding. And he even delivered the final photos to us within a month after our wedding day, so we were extremely happy with the turnaround time as well.

Ely was originally recommended to me by my current sister-​in-​law a few years ago and my husband and I could not be happier with the results that we have received from him and Chris. All of our photos (Engagement & Wedding) have been outstanding and it has been awful trying to decide which photos to hang in our home! There are not enough good things I can say about Ely Roberts Photography. He was very easy to work with and he produces beautiful wedding photos.
I planned my entire wedding in 2 months, so everything was done on a quicker than normal time frame. Ely was more than willing to work with our schedule. The weeks leading up to my wedding, he communicated with us frequently to make sure I had all the information I needed (And being that I am a bit of a control freak, that was very important me).
When I met him for the first day on my wedding day, I instantly felt like I had met a new friend. He was very warm and professional. I took forever to get ready and I was late to the park where we were supposed to take pictures but he wasn’t bothered at all. He took that opportunity to get all the groomsmen pictures done so that there was no time wasted.
During the ceremony and reception, he captured all the right moments and facial expressions. My husband and I had a playful yet heartwarming ceremony and the entire feel of the wedding was communicated through his pictures. He did a fantastic job.
I would love to get married all over again just so I can hire him to take more pictures! :) :)

We had the absolute pleasure to have Ely as our photographer for both our engagement pictures and our wedding. Both set of photos were beautiful! We had our wedding in Paso Robles, but Ely was willing to drive to our home in Orange County to take our engagement pictures. With our engagement pictures, we also received an amazing coffee table book. Ely was truly able to capture an once in a lifetime moment. In fact we plan on using Ely for all of our life-​changing events in the future.
Also, not only is Ely an amazing and talented photographer, but he is also a very kind and easy going person. had an absolutely amazing engagement photoshoot today. would never have imagined it going this well. He and his assistant were very professional and they helped us out with poses and stuff since we really didn’t know what to do and hadn’t practiced smiling for the camera.
