Cascade Lodge Motel

There’s a reason this motel is cheap. My daughter and I were on a road trip and stayed one night here. After checking in, we went to the room. The motel has exterior doors. All of the doors in our section were beat up on the ousted as if they had been broken into. Once inside the room, we immediately noticed a smell (possibly pot). The door frame was filthy, and the peep hole in the door had something stuffed into it. The room is very small. There was a fridge in the room, but it made a loud whining noise and I eventually had to unplug it because I couldn’t stand the noise. I went back to the office within 5 minutes and asked for a refund because my daughter and I did not feel safe and the room was not clean. The manager refused to refund. I was just going to walk away anyway, but everything in the area was booked. So, we ended up going to Target and bout bedding to put over the existing bedding in the room, barricaded the door, and slept lightly. I would not recommend.

I hate giving bad reviews — I usually just shut up and vote with my dollar by going elsewhere: Based on Unilocal and Trip Advisor reviews, booked about 6 – 7 weeks ahead via phone and received a confirmation number. Showed up to the hotel a bit early the day of check-​in to see if they had laundry facilities. My GF went in to get info. She came out talking about how rude the guy at the counter was. So I went in… turns out, they had no record of my reservation. Spoke to proprietor Pankaj Chopra (he told me his name was «Bobby») and he said there was no record of the reservation. I had a detailed itinerary with all my notes for a 9 day trip layed out and showed him the conf #. We even confirmed the number was the same alpha-​numeric scheme they use. He then tells me they have a (as in one) room available that was the King bed I was looking for… however it was not the price I had been quoted as that price is only for mid week. He would sell me the room for twice what I was quoted. Out of principle, I let him know even though it was Memorial day weekend, I would find someplace else. And we did. Highly recommend «My Place» in Bend. Little bit more in price but A LOT nicer, accommodating, and friendly vibe. Thank goodness we on a fluke checked the place out early — imagine if we had arrived at 7 – 8 pm and learned this news. As it was, we got another place right quick and had a good time in Bend.

Great little gem. Very cute and super clean. Close to downtown. Would stay here again. If you need s place in Bend. This place is it. Especially for the price!

Nicely remolded 50’s style motel. Rooms are cozy, but well off the street. No problems with noise. New carpet, paint, flat screen TV, bed, and general décor. Good wifi… my test is whether I can stream Hulu on my IPad… answer is yes.
Price very reasonable compared to the chains. I would choose this little motel over the others nearby.

We booked one night online and arrived last night. My request was to have the nicest King room possible. Our room was very nice. Super clean, nice furnishings (up to date), excellent tv and wifi reception. The bathroom was very clean, modern and well kept/​stocked. I would only wish for 2 more bath towels (2 per person). Our bed was very comfortable. Would suggest two more pillows (total of 6) for the bed. We slept very well. I appreciated the iron and ironing board as I used it to press a silk scarf I wanted to wear. No noises from the rooms on either side of us (which were occupied).
We would definitely come back and the price was very fair (under 100.00). Thanks so much!

Great value! Alway trying to save a little money on the road but not compromise on quality. You will find that here. The place looks well kept on the outside, a 50’s roadside motel. But once you open the door, you are met with a very pleasant, updated room with all the things you expect today. The bed was right in the middle of soft and firm and the rom was bright and cheery! Will be back next week.

Nice clear rooms for a good price. Only a short drive away from downtown. The staff was nice. The rooms have a microwave and a fridge. Everything you need at a good price.

The rate we paid was so low I didn’t know what to expect but this motel really surprised me. Our room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Will definitely be back.

For the price was not impressed. Was looking for a place that was pet friendly and the website said that, then checking in the guy said it was extra for pets! I will say it was clean but that’s the only thing. Way too much $$$ for what it was.

Can’t believe I found this jewel. Great location. Completely renovated and very clean. And, best of all the price is very reasonable.

Very clean & nice lodge which is not luxury but has everything we need. Large room with 2 queen beds are enough for 2 adults & 2 kids. Owner is very kind & taking care of you well.

This place is representative of a typical mid-​century (yet upgraded) motor lodge found along the well traveled highways of that day. For this category, it is a really good find.
Our room, #22, was around $ 78 for a king sized bed. Clean, neat, spacious, with new carpet and all the amenities including fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair drier, flat screened TV and wifi, the only shockers were the quite new bedspread which was simply way too loud for my conservative taste and the plastic flower arrangement on the desk. But not a deal breaker by any means.
And although we were practically the closest room to the old highway, those sounds did not bother us at all. On the other hand, the air conditioning however was quite loud, almost drowned out the zzzz’s going on in my bed next to me. It was however quite effective cooling-​wise.
Yes, I would highly recommend it for the budget-​minded.

If you’re in Bend, OR, this is a great place to stay.
Yes, the outside looks straight out of a 1950’s postcard, but the rooms are big as was the Samsung flat screen TV.
The microwave and refrigerator were most appreciated.
I’d definitely go back.

Clean with comfortable beds and pillows. If you are looking for an inexpensive, safe place to sleep this is a great choice.

Very clean and modernized room at a great price. The motel has a pool and is about a mile from the Mill district/​ampitheater. On a busy road, but couldn’t hear the traffic from our room! Would highly recommend.

Very nice place. Kept up well. Owners very nice and came right away when key jammed… my fault. Near lake and eateries and coffeehouses! I would pick again and recommend to friends and family. Yes, you can find newer construction motels but be prepared to pat 50 more bux. Dot know why anyone’s do that unless rich and or foolish! Save money and be treated right!

Second time we’ve stayed here, and it was a very pleasant surprise! Was nice last time, but this time sprung for the queen bed with jetted tub, and it had a separate dining/​living room area that had doors between it and the bedroom. Jetted tub was HUGE, although it was very powerful (everything on the side of the tub fell into the tub when on) it was nice (although we didn’t use much; 100 degrees during our visit!). AC was cold, hot water was hot, room and everything was clean — this is our go-​to for affordable but nice!

When pulling up I admit I had my reservations. It looks like any roadside motel you may think of from times past: park in front of your room door, small pool (too early in the season to be open yet) and a small property. But the staff was efficient and very friendly and the biggest surprise was our room — it was HUGE! 2 queen beds, small dining table & chairs, armchairs & coffee table, dresser, work table, fridge & microwave, etc. Plenty of room for us to move around and plenty of storage space. Dressers, built in drawers by the fridge and by the sink, and a small closet. The bathroom is at the end of a long hallway and was tiny, but it only held the toilet & tub/​shower so it didn’t need to be huge. Everything was clean and comfortable and they came and serviced it every day. There was plenty of natural light during the day but it was rather dark in there at night. Either there could be more lights, or they could be larger/​brighter. Our room was behind the pool house and parking can be tight — it can be hard to work out of your parking space if you have vehicles in the spots next to you — especially if they are larger trucks. But it wasn’t that big of a deal. It was also really quiet — the street it is on is busy, but we never heard it. I’m really not sure if they offer a continental breakfast or not — I never bothered to go to the office to check. But if they do, you would have to walk across the parking lot to the office building to get it. We just ate what we had in the room. One thing I would like to see added is a toaster.
We will stay there again the next time we are in the area OH — one note (I forgot to mention this on TripAdvisor) — they will run your credit card for the full amount of your stay when you check in, not when you leave. Wasn’t an issue but did surprise me.

We were planning on camping but after a late start from Portland and a stop at atlas cider and then the river dog park, we found cascade lodge motel on Unilocal and booked within five minutes. Less than $ 100 for two dogs and two people. The room was quiet, clean, and equipped with not only a fridge and microwave that worked, but a comfortable bed AND tom’s toothpaste. Easy check in and out. Definitely would stay here again, close to everything!

A very nice stay. The place is pet friendly to start. It is very clean and doesn’t smell like some type of chemical to cover what ever! It has been recently upgraded from the asphalt to the rooms. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. At first she looked at me with question about my two yellow labs. When I assured her they were good girls she said sure! The place has a nice pet area that is large enough to run. In room refer and micro as well as a bar sink. A great place to stay and reasonably priced. Nice room for a pet friendly motel. No signs of pets ever!
