Carlseng Designs specializes in landscape design, landscape consultation or coaching and gardening services. I work with the client to create landscapes the blend form, function and sustainability for the Bend and Central Oregon area.

I design landscapes that are native, low maintenance, deer resistant, visually interesting, seasonally striking, flower and/​or vegetable gardens and anything else a client may desire.

History

Established in 2004.

I started Carlseng Designs because I was unsatisfied with all the other jobs I had experienced and I had always been passionate about working with the landscape. Once I began designing and installing gardens I knew I had found my life’s work. I feel blessed and honored to be able to do what I love and I bring that passion to each project I do.

As a child growing up I was very fortunate to have parents who insisted we spend lots of time outdoors hiking and camping. I love the natural landscape, especially the spring flowers poking up from behind rocks and am happiest out hiking our local trails. I am also drawn to the work of Oehme, Van Sweden & Associates, spear headers of the New American Garden movement. My favorite ornamental landscape of all time is the Portland Japanese Garden, considered one of the best Japanese gardens outside of Japan.
