History

Established in 1981.

Bruce Brothers, who has now been practicing law for over 40 years, purchased the building that the firm still resides in today. The building is located in a beautiful historic area of downtown Bend, and looks out on Mirror Pond and Drake Park. The combined experience of the current lawyers working at Brothers, Hawn & Coughlin is over 60 years.

Meet the Business Owner

Bruce B.

Business Owner

Bruce was born and raised in Havre, Montana. Following military service, he enrolled at the University of Oregon, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He attended law school at the University of Oregon, where he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1969. After 11 years in L.A., he moved to Bend and purchased his beautiful building across from Mirror Pond, where his partners have included Judge Stephen Tiktin and Judge Michael Adler, prior to their appointments as circuit court judges. Bruce has served on numerous committees and boards including the Oregon Council on Court Procedures, as well as the Board of Governors of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. He is AV-​rated by Martindale Hubbell. Bruce continues to practice at both the trial and appellate court level. He has had numerous successes, particularly involving complex insurance issues. His litigation practice has included personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice and sexual harassment.
