Riverbend Dog Park has long been my daughter’s dog Ozzie’s fave place to hang out with his playmates. And he goes on a regular basis, like once a week, lucky guy! So when I finally got to visit her with my recent Dutch import, Gnoffie, I was dying to bring him out to meet other dogs and try this way of playing with others. Besides the fact that there are handy bags always ready, and the area is nicely fenced in, the warning signs asking for dog-friendly visitors only, the owners generally get together as well and exchange helpful advice. Always good to hear various solutions to a problem! And guess who had a blast? Gnoffie! The only thing I miss is a shady spot for owners to be able to sit down. Hinthint ;0)

I’ve been coming to this bark park for over a year. It’s great to be able to let my dog run, then swim, then do it all over again. Great place to ppl watch on the river and just enjoy being outside with the dog. My one complaint about this park(like so many dog parks everywhere), is that people bring their dogs here that love to play with toys or balls, or whatever, but the owners bring none of their own. So the rest of us have to spend half our time chasing down other people’s dogs, just to enjoy our time there. To those of you doing this: It is NOT my responsibility to exercise your dog while you wallow away with your Iphone. If you don’t want to be a part of your dog’s fun, don’t come. Bring toys for your dogs, and clean up after them. REALLY.
