At The Right Step Benbrook we provide one of the most recognized Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for drug and alcohol addiction. This treatment program is for you or a loved one who need to address their addiction to drugs or alcohol and are not able to, or do not need to enter residential treatment. Our professional counselors will help you become sober and then maintain that sobriety without greatly interrupting your daily work, or school schedule.

History

Established in 1990.

The Right Step started in 1990 as an extended care facility for men. It continued as a single-​site operation until 1994 when George Joseph stepped into the role of CEO. He brought a combination of effective clinical skills and a fresh approach to the delivery of quality addiction treatment. Most importantly, George brought his unmatched vision and dedication to recovery.

With George at the helm, supported by a skilled clinical and administrative team, his vision took form. Today, The Right Step is the largest private chemical dependency treatment provider in the Southwest. The Right Step is nationally accredited by the Joint Commission.

Geary G.

Manager

In thirty years of studying and working with addiction and co-​occurring diagnoses, Geary has developed a thorough understanding of the disease. His therapeutic approach incorporates 12-​step philosophy with his background in psychology and counseling to explore why addiction happens to some and not to others, what actually happens in the brain that makes addiction so powerful and hard to escape. Through Geary’s passion for treating addiction and promoting recovery, he helps the clients understand how recovery and emotional healing can be a positive path for them. He is passionate about addiction and recovery.
