Yoppi Yogurt

Yoppi is the epitome of why Carlmont is a horrible local shopping center. The high rents have forced out the charming mom and pops of the past decade and the ownership has no interest in improving things.
Back to Yoppi… Today my daughter wanted it and I tried to talk her in to Baskin Robbins. This is the last time I’ll be talked into Yoppi and I told her that.
I’ve been there when the doors are unlocked and the mousey and rude girl is out getting lunch. I’ve never even stolen a gumball in my life but I was tempted to rip off some yogurt to prove a point. I’ve also been there with 4 of 8 pumps working. Today… only 3 worked. And the young chick didn’t even look up from her phone until she was done typing. I left the yogurt in the cup and took off.
There was no gelato and three pumps working. I can’t see how they make enough with their pathetic business to afford the Carlmont ownership rip off. Boycott Yoppi. Ya Ua across the street has better selection and nicer people.

The store is cute and has great indoor and outdoor seating. They usually have 6 flavors of froyo and are generous with free samples. This location has more toppings than any other froyo place I’ve been to. They have standard toppings for froyo like m&ms, gummy bears, and chocolate chips, but I really like the mochi, chocolate rocks, nuts and strawberry fizzy candy. They also have different types of cereal and crushed up candy.
The milk teas are really good and reasonably priced. They make the tapioca pearls for the drinks fresh every day and will customize the sweetness of your drink if you ask.

Not gonna sugar coat it… this location has a lot of room for improvement.
/​/​They only have 8 total flavor spots and on my lasy visit 2 of those were broken. 6 flavors does not a fro-​yo storefront make.
/​/​The flavors are all pretty lame. Chocolate. Vanilla. Yoppi original. C’mon. Throw me a freaking bone.
/​/​Hella pricey for limited options and lots of broken machines.
/​/​Topping bar is clinical depression-​level sad. One flavor of bursting boba and the containers in general look pretty sad and honestly, not all that clean.
/​/​The lone girl working the counter is suuuper young and kind of made me worry for her running the place by herself at night in a storefront that faces into a dark parking lot. Definitely didn’t seem all that safe.
I’m not a fan… especially when the other fro-​yo place up Ralston offers samples, is more affordable, cleaner, has better fro-​yo flavors, and like 5x more topping options.

I’m done with this place. Same complaints as have been made by others:
1. Rude staff that couldn’t even be bothered to look up from their smartphone to greet you as you enter the store
2. Small number of froyo flavors
3. Froyo not cold enough, comes out half melted
I’m not the first to raise these concerns, which have been met by generic corporate sounding responses. I can only conclude that this business does no care about keeping my business. I’ll drive the little bit further to Menchies in the future.

Horrible service! The person who «served» us the gelato ($ 4.50 with a topping for their «medium» size) appeared to be extremely bothered that we came in. And there were NO other customers in the store or outside seating. By contrast, Baskin Robbins in the same strip mall was packed. Avoid this place.

Terrible customer service staff does not speak English and is extremely rude. Walked out today and went to Baskin Robbins instead. Won’t be back!

Not a big selection and toppings are not fresh. The worker was staring at me put on my toppings, making me feel rushed and uncomfortable! Expensive for what they have. Not very friendly either, she stayed on her phone and did not speak at all except for when We took a selfie and the worker asked why we were taking pictures. Ummmm…

Oh man, the service :(We came in and there was literally no one at the counter. Another customer came in, self-​served, and then weighed his yogurt at the counter and left the money there, because there was actually nobody in the shop. She had decided to walk over to the grocery store and get herself a snack, leaving the whole place completely open and unguarded. Really???
Perhaps I should have snagged a free yogurt, given how little she cared, but I’m not that sort and figured if this other guy was self-​serving and leaving his payment at the counter, maybe I could do the same. And then the red nozzle ring of the dispenser of the froyo flavor I chose fell off into the froyo cup as I tried to self-​serve, and it was actually a bit crusty with the dried froyo :(I felt compelled now to wait for the staff person to come back so I could give her the nozzle ring back and then throw away the froyo (because beyond the crusty outer ring having fallen in it, it was melted by the time she returned). My other friends went to the Baskin Robbins instead while I waited. (Ostensibly a wise move, but I had my heart set on froyo with mochi.) When she finally returned, she looked downright annoyed that there were customers around :/​
The two stars are for the decent toppings they had, but the froyo itself is too soft (I guess they don’t keep it that cold) and not all of the flavors are labeled. I don’t think I’ll be back again.

I feel uncomfortable walking in sometimes. There is a woman there who barely speaks and is always on her cell and then glares at me when I am putting a topping on my yogurt. She’s pretty unwelcoming. Also, they seem to be running out of flavors (or using up what they have and not replacing.) They also no longer have chopped walnuts. Maybe their business isn’t doing well?

Super friendly staff and gave my entire group of students the royal treatment. #legit.

Should’ve gone to Baskin Robbins. The worker (maybe the owner) did not even greet me, and was eyeing my kids as they were putting on their toppings, prob to make sure they weren’t leaving a mess. Then I got a small gelato, which had barely a scoop in it — for $ 3.50 can you at least give me a whole scoop?

The new management is horrible! They had two flavors of gelato available, about 4 flavors of yogurt and almost no toppings on a Friday night. The lady (possibly the owner) does not seem very happy working there either. Management-​please sell this to someone who will keep the products full and bring back what it used to be!!! I miss walking to go get quality fro-​yo and gelato!

Okay. So, I’m a freak for punishment… or for convenient frozen yogurt… still deciding. I tried this place again since they are just down the block and I still have my frequent buyer card. I bumped into the same lady behind the counter. (sigh)
It was another beautiful and sunny day in Belmont. Many customers were there.
And…many customers were there asking why there were only four of the eight flavor spouts working.
«Oh,» the lady said, «we don’t have many customers.»
We all looked at each other, the many customers and I, with such confusion and disbelief. Some customers had to just let out a quick chuckle of disappointment to accompany their shaking heads of disapproval. All the tables were filled, Miss I’m-on-my-cell-phone– at-​work! All the outside tables were also taken. And, there was a very obvious line of customers (now, very confused customers) in front of her. I mean, if you’re going to just have a few flavors available, can you at least get off your phone to make sure they’re actually frozen and not just cold liquidy slop!
Come on, Yoppi Yogurt management!!! We’re giving ya chances here! Do something!

The tea I got tasted like straight up PERFUME. It hurt my mouth even. The person here should learn how to actually make the tea or not work here at all.

There are some new items, MILK TEAS, which are on promotion BUY ONE GET ONE FREE. I got milk tea and
milk green tea with tapioca. They both are so good! The cashier told me all their drinks use freshly brewed
tea and hand made to order. I will definitly come back and try more different teas.

This place is right by where I live and I try to like it but I can’t. The customer service is awful, the teenagers who work there always have their friends hanging out which is fine if they paid attention to the customer checking out but they don’t. I have had them talk around me while I was trying to pay for my yogurt multiple times. They also start cleaning up an hour before they close. If you go at 8:30 all the chairs will be up on the tables making it so uninviting and feeling like you can’t sit down to enjoy your yogurt.
Then their yogurt, it is either icy or melting and the toppings are always empty. It doesn’t matter what time you get there. It is also extremely expensive. Their small size cup less than half full (no toppings) will come out to $ 5.25. Ridiculous!

I really want to like this local place but the yogurt needs improvement… it’s often icy, flavors taste more artificial than normal, and it’s not cheap either. On the plus side, it’s a good location and looks like a bright & fun place to take a break.

I wanted gelato. But unfortunately there were only 2 flavors to choose from. My daughter and I got a bowl each of their froyo, chocolate and pomegranate tart. Fun times sitting out in the sun on a nice day.
One great find: toasted gelato sandwich. Wow! Reminds me of the famous dirty ice cream of Manila, stuff in between bread. I like it!

This place is disgusting! It’s small, dirty, & customer service is terrible! I walked in & it appeared that no one was working there. So I was like I guess I’ll figure out if I put the toppings on or if they do. Turns out the employee was sitting at the only table with a friend that came by to «hang out». How ghetto is that?
It was 3 hours before closing & I would have thought the yogurt would still be cold. But no, as I squeezed it out it was milky & runny! The toppings I guess you put on yourself.
I went to ring up my yogurt & this kid was playing with all the spoons! Gross! Parents need to teach their little kids to not touch EVERY clean spoon & employees should keep spoons elsewhere! My spoon was sticky & by the time I got home (literally 2 minutes away) my yogurt was all the way melted. Horrible experience & a waste of $ 5. Never coming back!

This place is close to where I live so I’ve tried it a couple times. Expensive for what it is and not that great. I would rather drive down to El Camino and get Yumi yogurt. The only thing that this place is good for is if you are in the area and want some froyo and don’t want to drive as far to get good froyo. They also offer gelato and mini treats here.
They came out with these new things are tartfufo. It’s a ball of gelato with something in the middle of it. I got the hazelnut tartfufo and it’s this tiny ball of gelato with hazelnuts on the outside and dark chocolate infused in the center. I paid 6.50 for it. It’s pretty good but not worth 6 $.
Conclusion: nice cute yogurt shop, I’ve had better, a tad on the expensive side.
