History

Established in 2011.

Ray’s talents in the training industry quickly became apparent. After becoming certified by NASM and AED, he worked as an apprentice trainer at a Boston Sports Club (BSC). Within months, he advanced to pro trainer status and then master trainer, the minimum time period allowed by the club. The next year, he was named a top twenty trainer out of the 2,000+ plus trainers working for Town Sports International (TSI), including all BSCs, New York Sports Clubs, Philadelphia Sports Clubs, and Washington Sports Clubs. Then in 2010, Ray was named a top ten trainer for TSI and the #1 trainer in all BSCs in the state.

In 2011, Ray branched off to start his business, RayFit, for personal training and Xtreme group classes. Ray manages programs for clients ranging from ages 7 – 75, accommodating different body types and abilities, injuries, and goals.

Ray was dealt a setback in college when he tore his ACL and doctors advised him to stop playing competitive sports. Although initially devastated, Ray refused to let this discourage him and he focused on his recovery. He returned to the weight room a few weeks later, not only to rehab his own injury, but also to start training his fellow athletes and set them up on exercise and nutrition programs.

After graduating college, Ray worked in the construction industry. He learned valuable communication skills as he listened to what his clients wanted and created customized plans to suit their needs. However, during this time, one of Ray’s high school buddies asked him for help – he was fifty pounds overweight and his health was deteriorating. Ray trained Nate and helped him lose the fifty pounds in six months. As Ray realized he both enjoyed and excelled at helping people achieve meaningful changes in their life, he began to follow his heart and become a personal trainer.
