3 stars for for food. I got the tree hugger panini. It was delicious. Subbed chips for a side salad. Not worth the $ 2 for the switch. Stick to their greasy home-​made chips. Service was made slow. Would come back and try their coffee, heard it was good

I love this little place for breakfast & lunch. Very cozy place for a bite & some conversation. They also have a nice fireplace for cold, winter days! There is a limited menu but everything I have had I have enjoyed.

I loved this place!!! I went out with my boyfriend for a late lunch and everything was fabulous! The spicy fried green beans are to die for! Our very kind and funny waiter recommended them and was also very helpful when ordering our main meal. The place is quite small and very homie with pop art and beach living décor with a rustic feel, very cute!
This is a great place to stop in for a bite or just grab a smoothie, coffee, or juice. I personally loved their burger and the dirty monkey smoothie. I would recommend this café and lounge to anyone! Definitely visit if you get the chance, try the spicy green beans!!!

Spent the evening at Stay Gold last night. It was an all around fantastic night. This is definitely not your typical place for coffee and an egg sandwich. Yes, the coffee is excellent as are the breakfast choices. Last night it was reserved seating and every one raved about their meals. And they not only raved about the meals and the outstanding service but there was live music and the dance floor packed out.
A night out at Stay Gold was a whole lotta fun last night.

I visited this weekend with high hopes. The coconut latte was amazing! Food was good although the vegan options are limited. Many vegetarian options. If you’re a vegetarian this is the place to visit. The reason why I’m only giving 2 stars is the food. If I rated the service it would be a zero. We asked 3 times for water. No one came to check on us after the food arrived. My boyfriend had to go to the bar to ask for a cup of coffee (which never arrived). We had to go up and ask for the bill. Considering that there was only the servers two friends at the bar and us you would think that we would have a good experience. I’d MAYBE visit again. Im not sure since yesterday was a horrible experience. If I did, only for takeout. The service seriously needs to be reevaluated.

I’ve been back here a few times and the staff situation has improved. The food is still really good.

Pretty great combinations on the menu! The fried green beans are killer. Nice and spicy with a parm dip to cool it down. My favorite, so far, is the Surf & Turf (filet mignon and smoked salmon OMG). My husband has gotten burgers each time we’ve been here and they are cooked perfect each time. He actually couldn’t shut up about the black and blue burger until we went back!

It’s close to my parents home in Belmar so I’ve stopped in a few times now for lunch or just a quick coffee. I also really like their fresh juices. The lunch sandwiches and salads are up to par. Nothing to write home about. I will continue to stop in when I don’t feel like traveling greater than 1 mile for a bite. It’s a great atmosphere if you’re just looking for a relaxing coffee break spot.

Their food is good, the chef is very nice. The only thing that throws me off is that there are flies circling the table EVERY TIME we come here. They should probably hang up some fly paper from Home Depot. Otherwise, service is good and plenty of business flowing in and out.

Like another person mentioned, I really want to love this place, but I think that, after eating lunch there a few times, stopping in for coffee on a number of occasions, and grabbing breakfast on the go twice, I can only say that I like it.
First, it’s a little pricey. I know part of that is probably because of the location, and I truly don’t mind paying $ 5 for a delicious coffee (which they have! Try the golden coconut — it’s on point!). Don’t get me wrong — the food is mostly good, but for the price, I want it to be great every time.
Second, the food takes forever to come out during lunch. I’ve been twice this summer for lunch — once on a Tuesday and then today on a Friday — and though I enjoy sitting outside on a beautiful day, I’m not so crazy about waiting at least 30 minutes for chicken salad and a burger. I was also pretty disappointed today when the chips, which were advertised as kettle cooked chips, tasted just like regular old potato chips. As for the burger, it was fine, but nothing overly impressive considering it’s advertised as a grass fed burger with their custom blend of meat.
So after multiple attempts, I think I’ll just stick to what I really love about this place — coffee and a quick to go breakfast when I’m in a pinch.

Lets not lose the plot here… The main thing is the food.

I do, and it is pretty low in the majority of places.
I know we had a Deli in Midtown NY for 25 years.
We have only been here twice.
and my wife & I both ate the same thing both times.

With very high quality meat. What they use costs more than double
what most decent places use.
The Coffee quality & drinks are also of outstanding quality.
Otherwise all incidentals. today the music through the speakers was a bit too loud (it has to be at a level allowing for effortless conversation).the AC was on a little low. and it got a bit too smoky in the dining area and the place looks a little mixed up. but all that is petty minor issue.
This place uses good stuff. makes the best burger and if people keep bashing it for petty reasons it will be lost
And Belmar. if you lose this place it would be a shame.

Stayed in belmar over the weekend, great location, very nice vibe, live music this afternoon with speakers outdoors… some lounge couches. Ordered iced coffee, not the greatest, a little bland for my taste but not terrible. The iced tea hibiscus I could live without, I actually prefer Starbucks. For the location and the nice holiday weekend I only give ³⁄₅. Hope this is helpful!

Read the mixed bag of reviews, but decided to give this place a go regardless. First walked in to a very loud 3 piece band,
on a rainy, obviously slow Saturday. First impressions, almost walked out just based on ambience. It’s a little confusing; large coffee bar, coffee house décor/​setup. Soft crash out seating at the entrance to hang and listen to music and a small amount of tables towards the rear, allocated for dinning, which is what we went there for. Ordered a mix bag of tapas, string beans, filet mignon with smoked salmon and a few others. To my surprise, and I mean, surprise, everything was good. Well cooked and prepared. By the amount of young staff milling around on this slow, beach rainout weekend, I had low expectations for any experienced help in the kitchen. Good casual dinning, music too loud for a restaurant, but I’ll give it another go.

I love going here, especially on a cold rainy day to sit next to the fire and work. They make an amazing coconut almond milk latte. The space is warm, inviting, staff pleasant. The front area has ample couch seating w fireplace. I appreciate that I can come And bring my dog if I choose. The eating area, separated is adorned w local art. The ambiance is very chill. I usually order an acai bowl or shake. Friends have order food and said it was delicious. At night they have live music. I believe it’s byob. But I have yet to make it to one these. Soon. :)

I really want to love this place. I really do. We keep giving them the benefit of the doubt and returning in hopes that they will recover from their previous flaws. And then we end up leaving with disappointed hearts and promises to never return.
First, the waitress we have. Every. Single. Time. She is not friendly or accommodating. Each time, we see her maybe three times for 45 seconds each time. The food takes forever to come out. We waited 45 min yesterday for the food. We tried the acai bowl (which is not gluten free, but they don’t list on the menu that they put granola in it). It came out after waiting almost an hour and it had clearly been in the fridge/​freezer for a while. The spoon was frozen and the top layer was frozen. It looks so good, but tastes very bland.
Second time, we tried the egg bowls in hopes of a better experience. I made my own with egg whites and it came out looking very sad with lots of watery oil at the bottom.
Save your money and time. There are much better brunch spots.

The black and blue burger was great. I would recommend that dish. The service was great. The lady was very nice and had no problems with her. So go here and you would be full.

Been here a few times, And I gotta say the atmosphere is fantastic when you walk in. The fireplace is great to sit near on a cold day. The coffee drinks are great. Very flavorful but not too sweet so it overpowers the coffee.
So why only 2 stars? Simple. Great coffee, shaky service. Both times I’ve been there, they’re as slow as molasses, took about 20 mins to get a cup of hot chocolate in a ¾ empty restaurant. Yeah not good enough. Not to mention the fact the waiters and waitresses look visibly upset when they don’t think you gave them a good enough tip, which is an instant turn off to me. Well I know just the thing to fix that. How about I save you guys all the horrible strife I inconsiderably put you through by not giving $ 0.50 more on the tip and just don’t come at all? Sounds good. Ill take my money to a place that seems halfway thrilled when a customer walks in the door.

Came here again this time for lunch and even a year later the service at the tables is just slow and unattentive. Yes, there was a table of 10 so I can see the kitchen getting slammed but our waitress pretty much ignored us until she more than likely overheard me say I was going to head over to Jersey Mikes to take the edge off.
The food is good… But the service flat out sucks.

Don’t bother! We attempted to try this new establishment in the summer. We sat down and wait 20min for a server. They never came to the table so we approached the bar to ask for a server. Then waited another 10min. Finally just left disappointed.
Fast forward to today. 2÷2÷15. We decided to give them a second shot. Maybe the first time was a busy summer day for a new restaurant & we are very local so why not… Well we sat down after being told to, and were completely ignored. After 10−15min of sitting at a table, in a relatively empty restaurant, we got up and left disappointed… again.
BTW: on the way out of the restaurant we were completely ignored as well.
Don’t bother. This place is a joke.

The terrible service outweighs the decent food. The atmosphere is pretty nice though.
I went here for lunch on a Monday afternoon with a party of three. The café wasn’t busy at all but it took 15 minutes to even get our orders in. The three waitresses were not attentive to refilling drinks either. It took more than half an hour for our food to come out.
I ordered the cobb salad and the lettuce was wilted. The other ingredients in the salad were decent but nothing particularly special.
Others in my party ordered the gold rush and roast beef dip panini. They tasted okay but the filet was overdone in the gold rush.
I came here quite few times last summer after they first opened and had no complaints. The service was quick, all the food was fresh, and the smoothies were also good. I’m not sure why the quality has since declined, but needless to say I won’t be back to find out.
