Super Stop & Shop

This store is a rip off, Stop and Shop has the highest prices in NE $ 9.50 -$ 11 for cold cuts, really? I only shop there for a last minute item. I was shopping for a cucumber??? They had English seedless for $ 4.95? Who cares about seedless, English Cukes are so palatable anyway. Rip off! Then they had English style Hydroponic Cukes for $ 2.50, only the label only said Mexico? When they rang it up it said European Cucumbers? This is the same cucumber that sells for $ 1.29 everywhere else in NE
There is no such thing as a fair markup with Stop and Shop, their policy has to, keep marking it up so see what they can get away with.. At Market basket you can buy the same similar Turkey breast for $ 6 a pound, not $ 9, and the lowest prices, and better quality than Stop and Shop. Wake up people.

I have decided not to patronize this store any more unless absolutely necessary. They have goofed up more scanner orders at checkout than I can imagine. They always seem to have a new or different manager. The employees I have dealt with are inept and poor at what they do. The managers seem to be unhelpful when it comes to handleing complaints. I still use Stop & Shop but go to Franklin or North Smithfield. From my experience those stores are well managed and their employees do a good job.

This location is the best around. They always have what you need and more. I am a regular Sunday morning shopper at this place, sales start on Saturday though.
The produce is always fresh and conveniently located next to the bakery/​pastry area. Next I proceed to the isle of bargains, at least that is what I call it. I do not know if every location has one but it saves me the time of having to go down every isle to check out what is on sale. (I know I could just look at the flyer but what fun is that ;)
The meat selection is another winner. I find everything easily and do not have to ask the big guy in the white coat with meat stains on it. The steaks are excellent.
For the people who like the organic stuff, they also have the dedicated isle for them located near the dairy section. Ok, it might be half an isle, all right — a ¼ isle. But still available non the less.
It does have a pharmacy, flower area, and the ever-​present Citizens Bank. They also sell the every entertaining scratch tickets and movie rentals.
I use the self-​checkouts, much quicker at the right time of day. And that brings me to my next point — Customer Service!
What can I say it is very important to me. (Residual bitterness from servicing the public for 12 years) But i digress…
This little pet peeve has pushed this to the 5 star rating and I would even go higher if i could. I always seem to find the self-​checkout register with the person who does not know how it works. But as soon as i mentally berate them the wonderful employee comes to my rescue, uh, their rescue. You cannot swing a dead cat without hitting an employee and they actually have a smile on their face. Who would have thought?
