History
Established in 2004.
Owner Ralf Sigl is a German baker from Augsburg, Germany. He moved to the United States in the Fall of 2003 with his American wife (Kacy, who is also a baker), and their two children. They had a small wholesale bakery from 2004 through 2008. In the Fall of 2008, they opened a retail bakery in downtown Bellingham in the Depot Market Square, the Saturday Farmers Market Building. This great location is directly across the street from the Fairhaven Flour Mill, who mills all of the organic flour for the bakery. It is also across the street from Boundary Bay Brewery, where you can find Ralf’s pretzels on the menu, and the hamburgers and lamb burgers are served on Ralf’s Pretzel Buns.
