Great place to consin and to shop! Great prices, great selections, great people!

I you like consignment clothes stores, you will adore this place! This is one of the biggest used clothing shops I’ve ever been to. I liked how it was clearly organized by item size and type (i.e., a rack for small sweaters, one for medium sweaters, one for large, etc.).
The two gals ringing folks up at the center cash area. They were super nice, but there was a long line at both cashiers. Seriously, I think this place could use another cash or two; there was quite the logger jam here today.
I’m not a big fan of places like this. I know this shop is very popular, but I’m not into used clothes that look and/​or smell used. Most of the items here appeared worn. Some, a lot. And many had that «used» aroma, a little mildewy. The dressing rooms all had a lot of clothes left in them, along with empty hangers. Feels «messy». I only saw a few designer clothes, and all had minor issues with them (missing buttons, or some hanging from a thread, seams in purses’ linings had tears, etc.). Plus, there’s a ton of jewelry all around the cash register island and it all looks and feels unsubstantial and cheap.
The prices here, meanwhile, are a a steal.
There were especially a lot of shoes and purses.

Side note: despite this store advertising itself as a women’s clothing designers shop, know that this places also sells lots of household items as well: table linens, tea sets, candlesticks, accent figurines, cookbooks and small kitchen appliances.

I love this place. The store is large and full of merchandise. I have bought and sold here and I highly recommend the store. The owner and her staff are excellent.

I have been consigning here for years. It amazes me how they manage to sell clothes for so little, and I mean for the most part the stuff they sell is pretty dirt cheap, yet I manage to empty my consigning account for a large sum of money! I love this place so much that when I moved from Bellingham nearly an hour down South I still make the drive to both buy and sell there. It’s a great place to both buy and sell cute, used clothing.

Love this store! They are picky on what they will take, but I like that because I’m a shopper, too and I don’t want junk. You get a decent amount for what you sell, but it’s not a lot because they sell stuff for cheap prices… again, something I appreciate as a shopper. I also like the option they have to donate your sales to the Humane Society. My only complaint is the awful parking at both locations!

I am going to go broke bc of Labels. They have the best stuff for great prices, and I never feel guilty for shopping bc its such a good deal! Staff is friendly and stores are clean w quality products. I’ve gotten über cute clothes there w tags still on them for a ¼ of the price. I’ve also sold stuff there so I can make room for the things I find there ;) definitely recommend! Gotten some great stuff at both locations but the NW location seems to have a better selection.

I absolutely love this place and I am sad that I moved away. This place took so much stress off my plate. While packing to move, I had a lot of stuff to get rid of and I took it ALL to Labels. They took everything in and I opted for them to donate whatever they wouldn’t take (which wasn’t much). I literally just dropped my stuff off and didn’t have to worry about it. Then got a surprise check in the mail. The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of everything for a great price; clothing, shoes, home décor, home appliances, furniture, purses and seasonal items. This is a very popular store and your items will get sold at a good rate. Remember this is a consignment store so you are technically paying for them to sell it for you. You aren’t going to get the full price of what your item is worth. But, in my opinion is a great deal to not have to worry about it.

After shopping at this store before, and experiencing a «buyer beware» attitude about some fake merchandise, I decided to go back with family and check out the new location (as well as the one on James Street.) We noticed all the worn, casual items were on James St. and the more classy items were on Northwest (probably for the borderites who come down to shop in the U.S. for the day, and go back up to Canada in the evening.) There were some interesting things in both shops, however there were SO many FAKE bags and wallets, that I think it is a real problem at this shop. It is a problem for the buyer who thinks they are getting a deal, and for the seller, who could go to jail. This forces me to think again about whether I plan to take family back to shop there– it makes me question all of the merchandise in there, and the lack of integrity it takes to sell non-​designer merchandise— even if it is labeled «FAUX.»

In a world where one can easily go to a Chinatown or Santee Alley to get knock-​offs, shouldn’t second-​hand stores have better quality merchandise, and not buy into this? And yes, I understand you can’t always have the authenticity card/​cert, but why not get high items authenticated online before selling them?

My first experience from a sellers perspective ~~ I had very good quality stuff to take in for consignment, most of it either new or worn only once or twice, with a few more used items but even those items were in good shape ~ better than charity store quality.
I go to the new store on Northwest and while I’m waiting for them to go thru my stuff, probably the most expensive item sells ~ a pair of $ 100 Sofft shoes, BRAND NEW never been worn. But given how busy they are I don’t ask about it while I’m there. When they’re done I collect what they don’t want and right away I’m a bit alarmed ~ there was stuff in there that was excellent quality, brand new/​not worn (jeans and shoes), as well as some clothes with tags still on them. When I asked about it the girls reasons were strange. In spite of the sick feeling that’s growing in my gut I think «whatever» and that maybe it’s partly due to the total chaos that was in the place.
On my way home I call to see about the shoes that sold. The HUNDRED dollar pair of shoes that were BRAND NEW never worn, were sold for 14.99 I was told. My cut, I was told, was $ 5.99. Now I’m speechless as I KNOW i’ve made a huge mistake and I hang up. I am sick about that as I think about all the other stuff they took was really nice stuff. I called back and told them about my concerns and after one of them was rather patronizing I called the other store on Ellis in search of the owner. I called the first store on Northwest back and told them I want all my stuff back.
Long story short they increased my account from 5.99 to $ 20, I removed ALL my stuff from their store and took it to a different consignment store altogether. After speaking with the owner of the different store (who, by the way, wanted nearly everything I had) I knew she knew the value of nice things and expensive labels. (I described the Sofft shoes to her, she knew what I was talking about and said she sells shoes like that for 60+ dollars). ((You know? IF she sells it for cheaper than I’d like at least I know she knows the value and I feel like it’s fair business.))
Now, one could say «well at least you’re getting SOME money for it» and as true as that is I’m of the opinion that business is business and I don’t like getting ripped off. Either be fair in the business you do with me or I will be happy to GIVE the shoes to someone who will appreciate them more than you do.
The moral of this story is… if you shop there you are likely to get a screaming deal on excellent quality stuff. BUT if you are the seller you will get ripped off BIG time if you are not a part of the pricing of your stuff, which they don’t even allow you to do anyway. And the pricing of items? ~ One girl repeatedly spouted off the standard «one quarter of original pricing» but then another said «¼ to 1÷5» while still another said «one quarter to 30%»… So which is it? As if it really mattered ANYway because they obviously do NOT have a clue to the original value of anything. So ~ Seller beware. For what it’s worth, there is also very poor accountability to your inventory. You do not receive a copy of your inventory there. They say they keep an inventory list but you are basically on THEIR honor system and granted they added $ 14 to my account, they’ve already shown me there’s not much honor there with the pricing of your items. Labels does not know their labels. period.

Way back in the day, before there were hardly any consignment shops around and certainly not any good ones, a woman named Sage Bishop had a great idea. She rented a little house on the edge of downtown, threw in some clothing racks, hired her neighbor to help out and set up shop. Over the years the Ellis St. Labels has become the flagship, the original great consignment shop that all followers have emulated. Labels is a great place to shop, indeed the most popular clothing store in all of Bellingham, not just among consignment shops but among ALL clothing stores.
There are some very specific things that make it so:
–It is soooo easy to pop in and out quickly, browse, drop off a bag of clothing and then be on your way. The parking lot is adequate but small and right by the door, the clothing inside is well-​organized and easy to peruse. Even if you only have a few minutes to scout for a treasure it is always worth the stop.
–Consignors are treated with the same friendliness as shoppers. The consignment process is incredibly easy. You do not need an appointment, do not have to wait for your rejected clothing– sign in, drop your bag on the counter and be on your way.
You can call the store to check your account anytime, they won’t even put you on hold.
–The clothing is gone through pretty thoroughly. Like any consignment shop you want to give items the once over before purchasing, but they weed out the crud really well. And the prices are always low. Honestly, I once got a brand-​new with tags ($ 120) Calvin Klein dress for $ 14.99. I thought it was a mistake. But it wasn’t.
–All the other stuff: scarves, wallets, purses, shoes, toiletries, hats, hosiery, jewelry… there is tons of it. I once took in a bunch of rubber stamps from my crafting days and sold them all. If it will fit on the shelf and someone will buy it, they’ll take it.
The store itself is bright and kitschy and clean. The signs are cute, the details such as the dressing room curtains, are pretty which makes the whole thing a satisfyingly girly experience. The old house is a bit of a maze and charming for it.
With upwards of 17,000 consignors, if you haven’t been to Labels, you are probably the only woman in town who hasn’t.
Labels Consignment Shop-​Bakerview Square

A few years ago, with Ellis St. Labels going strong, the decision was made to branch out. Whoever heard of one small town having two consignment shops owned by the same person? No one. Not even consignment shops in Seattle have more than one store. How could one smallish town support two? As it turns out, really well.
The Bakerview store is set up just like Ellis Street in terms of consignment policies, etc., but it really does have a very different feel. It is located in a strip mall in the retail hub of Bellingham and is screaming busy all the time. The place is one big room with a nice flow around the racks. Like Ellis Street, the whole place is cute, kitschy, well-​decorated and just fun.
Get your shopping fix at either store without breaking the bank. If you clean out your closet first you can rack up enough credit to support your habit.

It’s always hit or miss at Labels, but when it’s hit, you can get some awesome clothes for incredible prices. I’ve gotten Guess, Banana Republic, Charlotte Russe, and Express clothes here for cheap and my friend even got a pair of Cole Haan heels for $ 20! Definitely worth checking out. Like Alisa B. I like this location better than the Ellis St store, they seem to have nicer clothes.

Love labels & I frequent both locations for the variety. The one on Ellis St. has an upstairs and downstairs & the clothes are very organized. Both locations make it easy to find not only your size but styles too. I like the fact that they donate to the womens shelter. They are friendly and very helpful. Prices are awesome. Check them out.

Of the two labels in bham I like this one best… not sure why cause its smaller but I seem to find more classy stuff that works for my body type here. The girls are very friendly and area always patient with me forgetting my card or forgetting which phone number the card is connected to. They will even help you find something special… I’ve made some good money off them bringing in old clothes and the like for them to sort through and sell… they also donate whatever they can’t sell so you don’t have to run from labels to value village or goodwill trying to get rid of the stuff that is only taking up space in your closet.
They have a great shoe selection and their accesories are pretty fun. The best part about this store is that your credit hops from store to store so if you have credit at one you have credit at both which is pretty cool.
