Is this place even open still? When it says they’re open they never pick up the phone or are closed.

I’m half Chinese and I wasn’t even Asian enough to be in here. The décor is the most random, pulled together mismosh of stuff taped to the walls(which doesn’t really matter, but might keep people from trying the place out. when they peek inside) Half of the menu was not available. We most of the appetizers and all were good, except the prawns were fried in batter with the shells on? Pretty pointless to have to pull off the shells that have the batter on them… so skip that one. Spicy Fried Chicken — my kids loved(wasn’t too spicy) Lamb Kabob — WAYTOOSPICY Fish ‘n Chips — there were no chips, so you only get fish — but it was wonderful. Be warned that whatever type of hot pot you order(we ordered the pork), it will have shrimp, crab, mushroom, potatoes, and tons of other stuff in it. As to the person complaining that the pork was frozen — it has to be frozen in order to get it shaved so thin so it cooks in the broth quickly — as soon as you put in in your pot it cooks. The roasted pork rice bowl was really yummy — had lots of flavors and a BIG portion. The tea was good — except their blender was«broken» so the kids couldn’t have blended smoothies. If I owned a restaurant and my blender broke I would call someone to bring me another immediately. For only having one cook and one guy be the water/server/busser, the service wasn’t TOO slow, but things came out as they were cooked instead of all at once, which we didn’t really mind.

Yeah, this place is fantastic and a great addition to Bellingham. My wife and I weren’t 100% sure what to expect but love Korean and Japanese food and decided to give a try. It was very good and we’ll be back regularly.

If we lived in Bellingham, we would be regulars here. Fresh, tasty, quickly served. Attentive but not overbearing attention after we started eating. Prices for dinner — mostly under $ 10 — very reasonable

It was my and some friends’ first time at Hot Point and we were happy with our food. We walked in and were quickly directed to a table with induction stoves embedded in them and given menus. It was very empty since we arrived on a weekday. The décor was sort of trendy, but obviously not professional(in my opinion). The waiter asked what we wanted to drink telling us they had hot tea, cold tea, and water then gave us a few more minutes to decide on the menu. There was about 8 broth/meat combinations to choose from. However, Hot Point lacks a beverage menu from what we could tell. I mean, it was pretty dark and we only had a quick glance around, not seeing any menus near the kitchen/cash register area. When the food arrived, it didn’t look like a lot at first glance but once you start digging in, there seems to be much more for an average person — which is great! I ended up taking most of it home. Personally, I liked the broth of the spicy beef the most because it was more savory and complex than the other ones. The seafood broth is simple and not overwhelmingly flavorful — something I expected. The waiter gave us a small spice rack that consisted of peanut sauce, chili/pepper oil, chili paste(smelled sweet), and a dark one I assumed was soy. The waiter was extremely humble in demeanor and kind. Quick and attentive too. I appreciated that. Once the bill came around, each of us received a small, square serving of mille feuille/napolean! It was a nice touch at the end of the meal. :) Ultimately, it is not the best hot pot I have had, but I am glad that this place exists in Bellingham because there needs to be more diversity in asian cuisine. I will come back again and ask the waiter directly what beverages are served since I thought they served bubble tea? I’ll find out next time, for sure. I can’t say I love it since I’ve only been here once, but I will come again. It is a cute little place.

This place gets my vote for ‘Best New Restaurant in Bellingham’. Each hot pot comes stuffed with veggies and a variety of meats(in the carnivore entrees). The pot sits on an induction burner built into your table. After eating some of the ingredients, making some room in the pot, you turn up the heat and add thinly sliced meat. There are a variety of sauces you can add — my favorite is to add a little of the ginger sauce and a little of the hot chili oil, and the whole meal is served with rather delicious rice. The chef often brings out little extras you didn’t ask for, like a pickled radish sort of salad or some sesame treats for dessert. If you already like Phở but want to expand your horizons on Asian soup, come here. I recommend starting with the spicy beef and then try the others — each soup has a VERY different flavor. 3 tips. 1. Come hungry, this is more filling than most soup places. 2. The food is served amazingly fast, but it takes awhile to eat(at least for me), so give yourself some time to enjoy it all. 3. I’m pretty sure both hot tea and iced tea are included with the entrée price… At least I’ve never been charged extra for them! At the time of writing, this restaurant has been practically empty the 4 times I’ve been here. Help get the word out!

Hot pot is one of my favorite things to have so when I heard this place opened, I knew I had to try it! The food is pretty good and has an authentic taste. With having a hot plate on the table you literally see the food cook in front of you! When I was there the chef also included traditional sesame balls with a red bean filling as dessert!

I have been there for twice and I had talked to the owner of the hot pot restaurant. From his words, I know that he has been in the difficult time to open the restaurant; however, the food in the pot are definitely in the best quality. The boba teas have various different kind of tea. I highly recommend you to go and try some food in hot point, especially when there are not much hot pot food in Bellingham.

When a restaurant opens, you want to them to succeed, make a go of it, especially when they are delivering hot and spicy hot pot and delicious boba. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst B’Ham restaurants we have ever eaten in. We arrived and after looking at the one shared menu(which was immediately passed to the people next to us) we ordered Boba teas which were pretty good. Then, the long wait set in, as we stared at our dirty table which had grills inside of it. About a half an hour later, I was given my seafood hotpot. It was super spicy, and I only ordered a ordinary chicken broth with it. My daughter ordered a veggie hot pot. It was stone cold and the poor kid had 3 giant prawns inside, staring at her with their big black beady eyes. She dislikes seafood. That’s why she ordered veggies. My sons didn’t come. They forgot. Then after almost an hour, they bring FROZEN shaved pork for his hot pot. Guess what was in it? 2 more shrimp. I complained. To make me feel better, they gave me a small plate of FROZEN shrimp and a couple of mussels. Really? Can’t you even pretend it’s fresh? There’s more. The person next to us had a string in her soup — they lost their appetite and refused to pay. Our bill was added up incorrectly and we had to ask for a recount. I asked for a discount because it was so bad, nobody was eating. We agreed to have the bill cut from 47 down to 30. Soooo Disappointed. I really wanted to like this place, but it was awful and I pray we don’t get sick tonight.
