I love ordering the take-out from this place. My roommate often brings home food from here after work, and it’s always delicious. Greasy? Yes. Flavorless? No. The people who work here are really nice, and they’re always really respectful and welcoming. I also love having a restaurant that’s so close to my house.
If you’re in the neighborhood and you’re looking for a restaurant where the people are nice and you get a lot of food for what you pay for, this is that place!

HK Garden is a good place to grab food in the convergence zone between Lettered Streets, Columbia and Fountain District neighborhoods. I had a lunch special here because there aren’t many fast food options in this part of town. In my opinion, it is typical Chinese take-out food. I got Orange Chicken special which was generously portioned, and the flavor was typical of every other Chinese take-out I’ve ever had.

They could use a new set of dishes and silverware, as they are quite worn. Service is good, and the food is decent.
Not a great place, but not horrible either. Just an OK in the middle kind of restaurant.

I’m giving this one star because the service was good. The food was not good. Bland, can’t tell the difference between the chicken & the pork. The crispy noodles they gave us were so stale, we couldn’t eat them. And the barbecue pork was SO pale we questioned what did they actually do to it. Bottom line, the food does not look appetizing and no flavor. Not sure how they stay in business.

They must have got a new owner or something, because the food is completely different than I remember it being a year ago. ate there yesterday because it was close and it was really good! I had singapore noodle and bubble tea, two things I don’t remember being on the menu before. The inside looks different too it seems like. The dinner for two special seemed like a really good deal, I saw someone order it and it was a LOT of food. I liked it enough to write this review.

When I was a kid we used to eat here all the time. Then I got older and moved away. But I still manage to stop by every year or so when I’m up here visiting. Yes. The food is mediocre and the place is really old my parents came here on dates before I was ever thought of. But that’s the fun of it. It still the same place it was 20 years ago. Its alright for Bellingham.

If almond chicken, Kung Pao Chicken and Lemon Chicken stirs memories of a dingy, caucasianese-fare then this is the place.
you won’t find authenticity there, except for the service. Chinese service is horrible everywhere.

Best Chinese place in Bellingham. Definitely standard Americanized Chinese food, but it didn’t make me sick, wasn’t super greasy, tasted pretty good… definitely best in Bham…

There was a time I would have given more stars, that was before my wife was misdiagnosed with Celiac Disease. At that point we didn’t eat out for over a year. After we realized the misdiagnosis we were up in Bellingham visiting. We remembered that we used to love eating here, so we tried it again. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience.
The food was not very good. It was greasy, and the cashew chicken was extremely salty. By the time we got home both of us had that feeling that we had eating food that was too greasy.
Now, the reason it even gets two stars is because the service is pretty good. The waitstaff are very responsive and incredibly nice, we just weren’t happy with the food.

Standard American Chinese food. No surprises here. They have a small Asian market as well which was selling pastries the last time I came here. The décor is the usual for a family run Chinese restaurant. There seems to be alot of those in Bellingham and pretty much any one you pick is going to have the same food and the same décor…
