Dancing For Joy offers quality dance instructions to students 2 on up! We offer dance instruction in the following styles; Creative Mvt. Pre-Combo classes, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical Worship, Modern, Pointe, and Musical Theater. Stop on in to see us, your first class is always free!
History
Established in 2002.
Dancing For Joy was established based on the directors passion to see her love for dance and her faith fused together in an environment where community could also be built.
Our Mission
The mission of Dancing for Joy is to provide quality dance instruction for every student while encouraging movements and motivations that glorify our Maker. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment for students of all ages and both genders, to develop a deeper appreciation for the performing arts, and to «praise His name with dancing…» Psalms 149:3
Achieving that Mission
We are non-competitive yet professional.
We provide a healthy and safe outlet for young dancers to expand strengths, work on weaknesses, and build confidence in a loving and encouraging environment.
We maintain a high standard of commitment to technique in our classes.
We use choreography, music, and costumes that are appropriate.
We place an emphasis on using dance as a way to serve God and others.

Maluhia V.
Business Owner
Maluhia Vander Griend co. owner and director has been dancing for over 28 years and teaching for 15. She has studied at the Sally Howarth School of Dance, Morca Academy, Richmond Academy, Summer Dance Lab, Oklahoma City University, and was a teacher and performer with Fusion Dance Company. Maluhia enjoys teaching kids, and being able to have an artistic outlet. In 2005 her and her husband (Kurt Vander Griend co. owner) opened up a coffee shop called Stomping Grounds in the lobby of their space. The goal of opening the coffee shop was to build community at DFJ. With over 600 students, we get to see community and quality dance instruction take place in a positive uplifting atmosphere.
