Blood Transfusion Products for dogs and cats, Cancer Treatments – most notably Bone Marrow Transplant procedures for lymphoma, and the Tightrope surgical procedures for treatment of Cranial Cruciate injuries in dogs.
History
Established in 1999.
Bellingham Veterinary opened in the Fall of 1999 and has been in operation since. In early 2001, the Northwest Veterinary Blood Bank opened within Bellingham Veterinary and has been collecting and providing life-saving blood products for veterinary hospitals around the region. In June, 2006 the first dog to be cured of lymphoma was completed by the veterinarians and staff of Bellingham Veterinary in conjunction with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. Since then, over 100 dogs from around the country have been treated using bone marrow transplant procedures developed at Bellingham Veterinary.

Business Owner
Dr. Sullivan completed undergraduate school at Montana State University, then received his veterinary degree from Oregon State University. He has practiced in the Pacific Northwest since graduation – first on Orcas Island for 15 years, then in Bellingham. He has special interests in advanced veterinary procedures including cross sectional imaging (MRI and CT), transfusion medicine, therapeutic plasma exchange, bone marrow transplantation, spinal decompression surgery, Cranial Cruciate repair using the minimally invasive Tightrope technique, and advanced cancer treatments including immunotherapies.
