Smile Center Dental

First off, I don’t know how this place has any good reviews, I’m convinced its fixed. The staff here are very rude, especially the front desk girl with the big glasses. From the get go, they take x-​rays (which the tech had to do over and over because she clearly does not know how to properly take them, blaming that my mouth is too small) and then make you schedule to come back for the cleaning. They never tell you this on the phone when scheduling the cleaning. I took my kids here and they are not accommodating to children what so ever. They made my 4 yo son half stand in the chair instead of finding something for him to sit on. My daughters cleaning was literally 5 mins long, they did not even floss her teeth. My daughter had to get fillings and the doctor was in the other room on his cell phone for 30mins and while my daughter layed with her mouth numbed, then he went and worked on a patient that came in after my daughter before going back to fill my daughters cavity. I am very disappointed to say the least and will not be going back.

Dr. Hakimi and the entire staff at Smile Center Dental are truly phenomenal! I had a chipped front tooth and Dr. Hakimi did some bonding magic and actually made my tooth look better than before I chipped it! Thanks Doc! Would absolutely recommend him to any and everybody looking for a go-​to dentist. Beautiful office, wonderful staff, and absolutely great dentist! You guys just earned a patient for life.

Sure handed dentist who knows his craft. Me and my wife both have gone to Dr. Hakimi for over 10 years now. He just moved across the street to an absolutely gorgeous state of the art office. I can’t emphasize how pleased I am with his care. It’s tough finding an honest dentist and he has been helping us since day one.
Initially I had quite a few cavities and some old Metal fillings. He changes those out years ago. I haven’t needed any work ever since the early days and I give him credit as he took the time to inform me and educate me on the health of my mouth. Now we just go for our regular cleanings every 6 months.
He works well with my dental PPO even though my insurance has changed a couple times through the years.
My kids will soon start going to him too. See you at our next check-​up!

Best dentist in the past 5 years for me and my family! Recently Dr. Hakimi saved my tooth from becoming a root canal. That was truly the best thing a dentist can do! He also bonded my front tooth which was chipped and he did a beautiful and natural bonding. I’m very impressed and the staff is super professional and polite!

I haven’t seen the dentist in over 2 yrs because of my bad experience the last time I saw the dentist, I had a toothache so I was looking for a dentist up here… long story short I’m so happy I found this place. I had a root canal done today, WOW! Did not feel a thing… I’m scared of needles, I didn’t feel it when he gave me a shot and he was done before I knew it. I’m now home and all the numbness is gone from my mouth and still no pain. I am going back to finished my root canal but I’m not afraid to go back. I told my husband and son about this place and they will be going there soon for there dental works. The staff were so nice and friendly… thank you so much for making my visit comfortable and I’m so happy to have finally found a dentist to call my own

My father was a dentist. 30+years ago he made me a gold crown for a molar. I made the mistake of chewing some hard toffee recently and dislodged the crown. I was able to make an appointment for the next day. Dr Hakimi was kind enough to utilize the same crown, much to my sentimental delight. I was in and out in a hurry and a very happy camper. Thanks Doc for the excellent work!

Pretty good dentistry. The front desk staff are hit and miss. Some days they’re kind of grumpy, other days they’re all smiles and just plain out fantastic!!!
The dental assistant is so sweet. She offered the TV and an inviting ear to listen to me get all anxious. She even remembered me and things I talked to her about from a previous visit. Definitely the star of the show.
The dentist seems nice… Seems like he bites his tongue quite a bit. Haha. Overhearing some conversations, people ask him some odd things. Otherwise, he really does seem nice. Very intelligent.
My personal dentist experience was ok but I guess I have a personal bias and I am just plain out scared of the dentist or anyone in a white coat including medical Dr’s. Sorry Dr. Hakimi. He is however very nice and doesn’t make you feel judged or bad about yourself.

Dr. Hakimi has been great!!! He is very patient and kind. I have a very small mouth and I can be anxious at times, but he works with me & makes me feel comfortable. He’s easy going… I can laugh and joke with him which makes the whole process a lot more bearable. I would definitely recommend him! See you soon Dr…

Dr. Hakimi has been my dentist for several years now because he is simply THE BEST!
I used to be afraid of going to the dentist, but I always know I am in good hands at his office. I have had to get several fillings and am afraid of needles/​shots, but Dr, Hakimi is so good at making the process quick and painless for me. He always asks about what’s new in my life and how I am doing — I can tell he really cares about his patients :)
His staff is always kind and welcoming and they always call to remind me when my appointment is (I have never experienced this type of service anywhere else!) One time when I had to switch my appointment kind of last minute, they were very accommodating and helpful.
His new office is so clean and spacious! I love the décor and the fact that it is always spotless. It is a very professional, yet cozy setting.
I do not live in Bellflower, but I make the drive there because I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my teeth and health. Dr. Hakimi and his staff are definitely one of a kind :)

I wish there were more stars to give. After an awful experience with a previous dentist who broke my wisdom tooth with an extraction, I had not gone to a dentist in years. I recently started having some pain in one of my molars and the remaining wisdom teeth and after searching for months for a dentist and bugging other Unilocal reviewers I came across Dr. Hakimi. I messaged him with a ton of questions and concerns and he took the time to answer them all at night BEFORE I was even his patient. He was able to see me within a day. I went in and was seem within 5 minutes.
I had X-​rays done and the lady that assisted me was so sweet. She is fairly new to the team but she was so kind and listened to my issues. When the doc came in he was so amazing. I really thought I had a ton of issues but I actually only had one cavity and a filling that needs to be replaced and I need to address some teeth grinding issues but first I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed. The surgeon is there only once a month and today was his day in and Dr. Hakimi fit me in totally last minute.
Not once did he make me feel bad about not going to the dentist or try to sell me other procedures. I trust him with his recommendations. I had my wisdom tooth extractions today and all seems well. The one thing that I ended up worrying about was the coronactomy they did because I didn’t get to ask questions from the surgeon post op BUT that was more me because I was out of it not anything they did BUT I literally just messaged Dr. Hakimi and he replied straight away. What doctor does that?!
The surgery itself was great! In and out in less than an hour and only have the normal mild discomfort which is more than tolerable. Ice and ibuprofen are more than enough. I will update my review after the follow up but I doubt that my opinion will change. Definitely a keeper!

Best dentist ever! Great for chickens or patients who’ve had bad experiences with other dentists.

I have nothing but great things to say about Smile Center Dental. Dr. Hakimi came highly recommended by a friend. Even though his office was a bit of a drive for me, I decided to give him a try as I have not had the best experiences with past dentists.
I could not be happier with the experience. Dr. Hakimi and his staff are attentive, thorough, and very professional. I have never been left sitting in the waiting room (which is quite nice mind you) and as soon as I am seated in the examining chair Dr. Hakimi comes in and gets started– no waiting!
He and his staff are super friendly and always make sure I am comfortable every step of the way. Dr. Hakimi even followed up with me after one of my visits to see if I had any additional discomfort. You can tell that he genuinely cares about his patients.
I highly recommend Dr. Hakimi!

I stopped by before anything to verify if whether they accepted my insurance or not, luckily they did. I scheduled as soon as they verified my insurance. the soonest appt they had was in 2 weeks. Luckily I didn’t have no emergency! I just had my appointment today actually and I was pleased with the service. The office is new, I believe they changed offices. This new office has a modern feel to it. Their lobby has all sorts of dental products available for purchase. The staff is pretty friendly, they’re really fast, which I love! I got X-​Rays & polishing done, I was out of there within an hour. My overall experience was great.

Priscilla placed me on hold right at the beginning of my call. Was hold for 15 minutes and I finally gave up. Knowing toothaches are unbearable why put someone on hold
I was just trying to schedule an appointment for my toothache. Definitely not impressed despite all the 5 stars. First impression, last impression.

I always hated taking my 4 kids to the dentist until I found this one. They are straight up and no BS. We’ve gone there at least 4 times and have never waited to be seen. Their appointment times are on time!!! Would recommend to anyone.

I was introduced to Dr Hakimi by Unilocal and my sister in law. Since my insurance was going to expire at the end of the month, I needed to get my dental check up done before the 28^th.
The location was easy to find and the office was brand spanking new and very modern. Priscilla at the front desk checked me in and I waited approximately 30minutes post appointment time to be seen.
Maria brought me back to have my digital x Rays done. I informed her I had nasal surgery three weeks prior so my range of motion in my mouth was very limited. I also cannot have my mouth pulled or stretched too far due to internal stitches. To be honest, I was sweating bullets because of my nose situation and was debating if this ended up being a good idea. Maria was super gentle and careful with placement and movement to ensure I was okay. When she pulled on my right cheek towards the end, I raised my hand and told her I felt a stitch stretch. She quickly but gently adjusted the x Ray plastic thingy so It did not bother me. A lot of x Rays were taken and she was just super gentle.
I was then brought to the chair for cleaning (I thought). I met Dr Hakimi, he informed me I had seven cavities and that I should get them taken care of. Due to the limited time made for my appointment, we could not do the fillings today. He suggested to have the polish done today and cleaning along with filling next two visits before the 28^th. The doctor left and Maria came back to polish my teeth.
I thought it was really weird this happened backwards. Normally, I have my cleaning then polishing afterwards but this time it was the opposite. After Maria finished I asked her the reason why it was like that. She explained it is better to polish some of the plaque or whatever is on there off first before you next see the doctor. This will allow the doctor to see better. It made sense and I thanked her for the explanation.
This was a good first time visit. I just wish they were open on Saturdays. It will be difficult to return for my filling appointments due to my work schedule.

Dr hakimi is a kind, conscientious and dedicated dentist. His new office makes me feel better from the moment I entered

He accepts most insurance plans as well as mine, thankfully

I found Smile Center on Unilocal and I am extremely happy I did. I Had avoided the dentist for too long & was nervous about making an appointment. I am so so incredibly thankful that I found Dr Hakimi! he is so gentle, calm, friendly and just overall amazing! Everyone is genuinely caring and I love the family atmosphere.
I also liked the fact that the office is super clean.
If you’re looking for a dentist i would highly recommend this practice!

Dr. Hakimi has been my dentist for over 5 years now and I would not go anywhere else! First of all, when you arrive, the parking is so convenient, and his office is located in a cute little plaza.
STAFF
The staff is always super friendly and gives accurate updates about time. They are good about calling me a day or two ahead as a reminder, and if they have an earlier opening, they are sure to call me in (they know that I like to come in as early as possible in the morning so that I don’t have to drive there in the middle of the day).
CLEANLINESS/​DECOR
I’d say it’s a perfect 10! The office has a warm, cozy feeling with blue and cream walls and lot of paintings and plants around. I feel like I am in someone’s home!
QUALITY OF SERVICE
I like doctors that spend their time with you, yet are efficient — Dr. Hakimi is exactly that. He gets the job done quickly with as much ease as possible, and genuinely cares about how my school is going or how my family is doing! What a refreshing thing! Some docs I have experienced in HMO settings are not as welcoming.
Overall, I would say that if you’re looking for a new dentist, give his office a try. Even if you have to drive a bit to get there like I do, it’s worth it. You will leave with a smile — and a new toothbrush of course: D
