Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Offices

Saw Dr. Yu, today since my regular Dr. wasn’t available. I waited close to two hours for her to see me. When explaining the reason of my visit, she kept interrupting and dismissed half of the stuff I had said. I explained to her the disaffection of her service and told me she was an urgent care provider and was just covering for the day and recommended me seeing my primary doc. When asked if she wasn’t qualified to address my issues, she suggested that she felt uncomfortable with suggestion certain treatments. I’m not a doctor but why do I have to tell a doctor how to do her job? I left worse than when I got there without any treatment. Waited for another 30 minutes for the nurse who never came into the room. Totally unprofessional and incompetent Doctor.

I stopped by the Bellflower, CA Kaiser Permanente infusion/​phlebotomy center today for a therapeutic phlebotomy. Normally these procedures can be painful and adventuresome, however this time was painless, fast and almost pleasant. Thanks Allan Torres RN for doing a great job!

Went to get a copy of my M.R.I results at the medical correspondence office located down the basement. The first thing I noticed was there is one of those devices that gives ticket numbers and the annoying DMV sound, when they call your number! Well, I get a ticket and had to wait for 20 minutes for the system to call my number. As soon as my number was called the receptionist told me that I only have to wait a few minutes to get a copy of my M.R.I results. Well, I waited for another 25 minutes and started to get upset! It only takes seconds to get a copy of your x-​rays or M.R.I results you people!!! I waited a total of 45 minutes just to get a copy of my results. Horrible customer service! The receptionist noticed I was upset and finally decided to give me a copy of my results from the M.R.I. It took seconds for the receptionist to do it! This is ridiculous and insane! Workers are either lazy or don’t give a dam about patients. I think is a combination of both! They need to come out with a better system! Not to mention better customer service!

I have only been to the pharmacy, medical records and membership services in this particular building. Everything was fine and all of my prior experiences have been acceptable, except for today. Today I came to membership services and the woman behind the desk HAS THE LOUDEST VOICE IN THE WORLD. No privacy. No discreetness. No nothing. Ugh. Two women named Maria and Bertha and both were incredibly loud. I think it would be nice if they weren’t screaming so loud that everyone in the office can hear everyone else’s business.
^prior experience a week ago. Although I had a better experience yesterday when I brought my daughter into the pediatrics dept. so see Dr. Chavez, KP still needs to work on their system. Took way too long to have a medical record number issued on the phone and book an appt (2+ hours) then I came into the offices for the well baby appt and it took Lynda in the pediatrics department over an hour to check me in and we also waited about 30+ minutes once in the room. Not my typical Kaiser experience. I have had Kaiser for over 8 years for my son and I never had one bad experience. Now with my daughter, definitely not as happy with my most recent 2016 experiences. Everything just seems to take too long, from the service over the phone and having everyone tell me different things to the transfers back and forth from member services to the appt center to the waiting once at the rosecrans office. Parking and Dr. Chavez may be the only two good things here right now.

This place is terrible! My brother was scheduled for surgery at 1145am and they did not start performing the surgery till 4pm. Not once did anyone come to update us on what was going on and so the whole time my mom and I are waiting in the waiting room worried wondering why was the surgery taking so long. This place has serious time management and communication issues.

The system they have here is beyond ridiculous. Full lobby and two people «working»… GTFOH… It takes 5 min to fill out 3 lines on a form but it takes more than an hour just to submit the paper work!!! MAKES NO SENSE!!!

This place is always crazy busy. We love our docs and the people who prep her, but the people taking your info out front are a little rude at times. I’m sure they are doing their best, with all the sick kids coming in. I don’t give it a full 5 stars because of the pharmacy. It’s always crazy busy, so you would think that all the lanes would be open. Nope, I have only seen 2. They too are doing their best, but they need to have all lanes open. The faster sick people can get in and out, the better.

Dr. Ashe and the OR team were so pleasant to say the least. Their care and thoroughness was so great. It’s been a while since I have had any type of procedures… They definitely comforted me and I felt very assured. From the moment I was checked in all the way through discharge, I was very pleased with the care, compassion, friendliness of everyone. They all were exceptional. Thank you Kaiser Bellflower OR team!

So I went to urgent care tonight expecting to wait. Which I patently did watch people who waited as I did and a 1hr ½ later as I continue to wait a female comes in and happens to know a employee and within 10 minutes she was being called in I think it’s very unprofessional for the staff for not taking to consideration for the people who have been waiting. Not only did I notice it but others did too. Horrible customer service. Kaiser should teach there staff customers service 101 people skills

This review is long over due. And yes, who would have thought I’d be giving 5 stars to this old Kaiser location, the former hospital & so badly needed upgrading/​remodeling or even just a paint job w/​cheery colors? — I spent a few times in Oncology/​Hematology area, if I’m correct? And I remember all too well the horrible feeling of receiving Chemo and staring at everyone in the chairs, along w/​the drab yellow walls. I guess it use to be the old ER. There are no windows, no bright areas. The only thing that made it bearable was the kind nurses who administered the chemo.
I’m not going to hold back though, there was maybe a couple of people — one being a male nurse from the time I had my horrible allergic reaction to the 2^nd treatment & he was in a rush to get me out of there so he could put someone else in a chair quickly. A couple of receptionists — one in Oncology — don’t see him anymore & one young woman in the infusion dept — could have been a little bit of effort on customer service & politeness. (one of them laughed in front of me, because I guess I asked a stupid question).
So there are a couple of bad apples everywhere (maybe they were having a bad day? or just not customer service oriented?). On to the positiveness now…
My praise goes to all the others — staff and doctors that have made it comfortable for us dealing w/​life threatening illnesses. I really love my Oncologist — she’s very informative, sensitive and understanding. Even though I’ve moved from the away, I’m keeping everything the same — I might change my primary, only because the one I really want as a doctor is only on a part time basis and currently a nurse practitioner at Downey. (Everyone knows who she is & always requests her when at Urgent care) and I haven’t seen my new Primary physician, but was concerned & disappointed by my old physician of past ten years. But other than having to find a new primary physician, doing lab work & the occasional emergency that will probably come up, I’m keeping everything else the same. And so Bellflower (And Downey) it is.
I also agree w/​one of the other reviewers, The member services department was really fast, although I don’t know why I was referred there by one of the clerks from Pharmacy who wouldn’t process my prescription unless I went there to change my address (which I explained to her that I already did a couple years ago), she insisted I hadn’t done it and the nice lady at member services said that it was indeed updated, so it’s probably the pharmacy’s computers that are incorrect and old/​outdated. Either way, she was really polite and fast about it.
Other than a few bumpy surfaces, it’s always been good experience, most of the infusion nurses were great, the kind older lady at reception of infusion always a doll, the recent receptionist (s) at Oncology very courteous and professional, clinical trial nurses are sweet, my Oncologist, again a great knowledgeable caring person, and Lab people are efficient.
I haven’t gone to the other departments outside of Oncology, so I couldn’t tell you much about them. And there’s construction still ongoing.

The Pharmacy here has horrible customer service! The pharmacist, Lily waited 30mins to come tell me they were out of ear drops. And did not offer any other solution, until I asked them to call and check Downey pharmacy. Unfortunately, I this has not been my first encounter with her rude customer service skills.

Toooo long of a wait for a nurse visit for a 3 min tb test! So disappointing!!!

First came here in 2013 I saw a really good doctor & picked out several eye glasses based upon my insurance allowance. They do have 100% guarantee if you are not satisfied with your glasses. I musta went back4 times because myy glasse didn’t fit comfortably.
Forward to 2÷16÷15 I had an awful expirence with Dr.Kline.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER AT ALL!!! What kinda doctor tells you «Oh just deal with it if you see floaters in your eye? What kind of doctor takes a personal phone call while examining her patient? While this is waht Dr. Kline did to me!
Please Note:
They do not fit your eye glasses to your face which is the reason I kept going back & fourth because there frames never fit comfortably, most normal Optomitrist fit your glasses or customize them to fit correctly. I HATE that this place does not do that. Meanwhile I do have my new glasses but they are very uncomfortable to wear & I don’t really don’t feel like coming back to this place.

Front desk is rude! Awful patient service. I’ve paid over 300 $ in co-​pays the last month, I pay what I can when I come to these doctor appointments, usually around 5 $. I have like 10 follow up appointments from my BRAIN SURGERY 20 $ every time. I told her that she didn’t care, she was loud, rude. Embarrassing me talking on the phone about my financial situation, everyone in the room was listening. The Doctors are fine, the nurses, medical assistant are fine. This isn’t the first time either. Does kaiser not regulate them? They seem to think they can treat people how ever they want because their not at the kaiser hospital. I’ve actually changed doctors so I never have to experience this horrible patient service again. Kaiser management needs to clean house, that was ridiculous.

This review is about one recent event regarding my child.
My child had a fever on Christmas Day. I guess that it is too much to ask for people to work in healthcare for children’s needs on a holiday because after all if its an emergency we can always go to the Emergency room right?
Well this was not an emergency, yet it was my child who had a sudden fever, cough, runny nose and seemed lethargic more than the usual sleepiness. It was the day time hours when I drove from northern Downey area to bellflower, sick child in tow, seeking urgent care to no avail. I ended up having to take my child to Emergency when in fact it turned out not to be an emergency. Waste of money. Waste of resources. Waste of time. I would hope Kaiser would consider opening for a few hours on holidays for children’s sake.

Never knew this place existed, there is very little signage outside. Mostly here for vision checkups the building is overall very nice and not nearly as crowded as the older brother across diagonally on Clark and Rosecrans. Parking is plentiful and they were very professional in checking me in and reviewing my coverage. I thought it was pretty clean and they were on time with my appointment.

This was my first regular visit to this office. I’d dealt with Kaiser before in their Urgent Care and was pleased. I had a similar experience here. The check in was a breeze, everything is streamlined for efficiency. I switched to Kaiser this year and so far, my experiences have been very positive.

Located in the basement, parking is free, friendly staff, get here early due to construction going on, all the left side of the hospital is blocked off so only entrance is from the front right hand side of the hospital, many entrances blocked off so kinda hard to find what your looking for if you haven’t been before, good luck hopefully this was helpful, construction will be done sometime in 2015

The Bellflower MOB has mostly been remodeled. The new Hematology/​Oncology Department is beautiful and the staff is always so attentive. The new Pharmacy area is spacious and offers quite a bit of OTC medications for your convenience, in addition to filling your Rx’s quickly. The Laboratory area has also been «beautified». IF you haven’t been to the Pediatrics department, well, you’ll be BLOWN away at how gorgeous and kid friendly it is. Great move Kaiser! Way to amp up your game!

This facility has no Emergency service here anymore — you have to go to the
Downey Medical center campus for that.

I see that other Unilocaler’s experiences show that the place needed much to be improved in terms of customer service and cosmetic appearances.
Personally, I love coming to this building, although it no longer offers «complete» services.
The Laboratory here is less busy than at the hospital location. Simple system of getting a number and waiting for your number to appear on a screen or be called to check in and then another wait to actually be poked for your blood sample. All told, around 20 to 30 minutes total — unfortunately that seems to be a very reasonable amount of time to wait, since there are usually at least a dozen patients waiting ahead of you, no matter what time of day you arrive.
The Oncology & Infusion departments are both on the First floor, as well as Podiatry.
The Second floor is a Surgicenter, for Same day surgical appointments. They have a separate area entirely, entrance is on the first floor of the green tinted glass building.
Recently, the third floor was renovated to welcome Pediatric appointments.
Most of the cosmetic changes have made everything look newer and spacious.
There are vending machines now on the first floor, right by the Laboratory.
Outside, there is ample parking and twin towers of covered parking. One side is for employees, and the rest for patient parking. Both are covered by solar panels and I think that is pretty cool.
Changes are forthcoming about which areas of care will be here, as the hospital services have been moved to Downey Medical Center on Imperial.
