Hi Tech Auto Repair

I went here 2 times for a smog check, and I will not go back now after the 2^nd times experience. When I entered the office, no one was there, so I looked into the garage and no one was there either. I waited in the little office for 10+ minutes, and I walked out to leave, when another customer was walking in and I told her I don’t think anyone is her because I’ve been waiting for a long time and haven’t seen anyone. She went to he nearby business and asked if anyone was working and one of the mechanics for Hi Tech Auto Repair was at the other business!?! and told the lady to check the restroom for the man that was supposed to be in the office and if he doesn’t open the door then that means he might have had a heart attack!!! It was crazy! So I got scared that maybe this guy was hurt or something so me and the other lady go looking for him instead of the worker that told the lady to go looking for him. He’s in the bathroom, and says hell be out in a couple minutes??? So this guy has been in the bathroom for 15 minutes now and says hell be out in a couple more… I got in my car and was looking for another place to go when the guy came up to my window and asked if i needed to be helped. Since I didn’t know where else to go, i decided to get my car smogged there and then id never go back again. The whole experience was weird and unprofessional.

Do not go here if you want honest mechanics and over priced! They try to over charge you if you are a women and don’t know anything about car. Won’t be back worst place and mechanics.

Omw to the 605 after leaving kaiser I saw the $ 29.95 smog advertisement so I stopped. Well, I wish I would’ve read the reviews first. Of course the smog isn’t really $ 29.95. Plus, although the results printed pass in every section, the mechanic said my car failed but didn’t know why as there was no reason detected. He told me to drive it around because he reset the system and that he’ll need to retest it (for a fee). He then stated that if it didn’t pass, I would need to leave it there to be fixed. Idk about that lol but no harm taken. He also said that lately, infiniti and nissans are failing smog due to the catalytic converter but the smog report won’t list it. I gave a bad review initially after reading the other reviews but come to find out, he was correct. Maybe I was frustrated and that wasn’t fair. I have no issues with this place.

What a rip off I took my car in for a smog and $ 3,043.00 dollars later and the car runs worse than it ever has beware of this fucking place and the mechanics. This place needs to be shut down!

So far, so good. Though, their window says 29.95 for a smog check and I’m paying 62+ for the cert and transfer fee. whatevr that is…

I was there for an oil change and tire rotation. Price was reasonable and they finished work in one hour as they promised. I had no problem but I am not sure how good they are for more complicated car fix works.

I normally don’t write reviews, but this place sucks! My car has been here since Saturday morning for a tune up, it’s now Tuesday evening and it still isn’t done. What the hell is taking them so long?! Never coming back here.

I’ve been coming here for years. I found this place through my dad which found this place by his dad.
I use to have a 1971 510 Datsun. I took it to different mechanics & Hi-​Tech was the only one that made it run right.
Then I had a 2004 Ford. Now I have a 2008 Toyota.
The owners here don’t try & screw you around. They explain everything in detail. And they don’t steal stuff out of your car. They are nice & get the job done well.
I feel the prices are good overall. And when I ask them how long until my car is done, they are usually right.
As a woman, I can appreciate them not trying to jack me around. I would give this place 2 thumbs up!

Do not I repeat Do not go here. Just got back after waiting three long hours for a smog check and oil change. First the owner Henry said he found several things wrong and it would cost me $ 800.00 to fix them. When I told him I don’t have $ 800.00 so just do the oil change and smog check. Then two hours later comes back and tells me my car did not pass but almost passed and he wanted $ 300.00 to fix the catalytic converter. I asked him if he was sure it was the catalytic converter and he said «Well maybe 90% sure». My gut told me get the heck out of there. He charged me $ 35.00 for the oil change and $ 71.00 for the smog test that he said did not pass unless I got the repairs done from him. So I lost $ 71.00. Took it over to another place and passed with no problem.

Hi-​Tech is way over priced! Beware! I happen to stop by while in the neighborhood running errands to get an oil change. This is the most I’ve ever been charged for an oil change, even at the Honda dealership. The service people are rude and condescending. They also wanted over $ 450 to flush the transmission fluid and change the cabin air filter. Never coming back here despite living across the street. I don’t know how they’ve stayed in business this long.

They want a review here it is. This place sucks ass I had a lowered car and all I needed done was my alignment so instead of doing my alignment they raise my car after I told them not to. So when I do lower my car again there goes my alignment. Fuck this place they can contact me cause I went there today. I do not recommend coming here an there costumer service is horrible

These guys are thieves! My car has never failed a smog test since it was new in 1995, until I brought it here. The owner said it failed the «Visual inspection» because he noticed I had installed an after-​marked electric cooling fan for the radiator. He claimed that by installing a new radiator cooling fan, I had «tampered with the smog system». Like THE COOLING FAN IS PART OF THE SMOG EQUIPMENT!!! The jerk pretended he didn’t notice it until he hooked it up to the equipment WHERE IT PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS, but he still failed me on a visual inspection, and REFUSED to put the reason in writing. THE STATE EPA GUIDEBOOK says they MUST put the reason for failure down in writing. THIS GUY IS A CROOK!

Great place to get repairs done. The guy who works there I think his name is art but not sure was very helpful, he helped me with a very reasonable quote and got my repairs done that same day.
Long story short I highly recommend this shop.

I will NEVER take another vehicle to Hi Tech again, even though I live a block away. I took my daughter’s 2005 Mazda3 to have the front headlamps replaced. I was charged $ 40.00 for two bulbs plus $ 40.00 for labor… seriously, $ 40.00 for labor!!! I waited about an hour and half for him to pop out the old bulbs and pop in the new… they weren’t that busy when I took her car in. I think they wanted me to think they spent all that time on her car, to justify the $ 40.00 labor charge. Then he comes and tells me, her car needs to have a diagnostic check run… I asked him how much for that, he said $ 75.00…I told him, «NOO thank you!» I just think they’re a rip-​off.

I took my work van in to get a smog check. It failed, which is not their fault, but the diagnostic afterward was a whopping $ 75 bucks, and no free retest unless they perform the repairs.
I had dropped the van off at 10am, and didn’t get a call until 3pm with the diagnostic results. I live two blocks away, and drove by there in my commuter car twice, only to see my van sitting there with a diagnostic scope on the front seat, but nobody working on it. They had obviously finished the diagnostic hours earlier, and just sandbagged it to make it appear more complicated than it actually was.
The worst part was the repairs they recommended and the astronomical price they wanted to charge. They said I needed a new injector which would cost $ 708, and a tune up which would cost $ 395!?! WTF? Who in their right mind would pay $ 400 bucks for a friggin tune up? I told them that there was no way I was paying that and went and picked up my van, which cost me $ 135 for a failed smog check and bootleg diagnostic.
