Toys R Us

I usually think Toys R Us is overpriced and buy most of my toys online. I also prefer the smaller or more learning based toy stores. Often the toys I find at places like that are better quality/​more creative.
However, Toys R Us is the largest toy store around and has the biggest selection of toys you will find. We spent entirely too much time in there the other day trying to pick something out for my daughter (she had received a Toys R Us gift card). She couldn’t make up her mind! In fact, we had to come back the next day to exchange the toy she first picked out with another one. Yes, she changed her mind again. Fortunately, there was absolutely no issue with getting refunded and swapping the first toy with the second.
This location has plenty of parking and is close to the freeway. Very convenient.

Great store with great selection. But the staff look like they hate their jobs. Seems like they don’t want to work here. Anyway, this is a great place to get toys for the kids or just browsing.

Amazing! So I bought this New Bright RC truck for about $ 60.00 about 10 months ago & I bought a warranty for it for an additional $ 7.00. So the RC truck was well used & it was stepped on and broken. So, I’m thinking I’ll head down to Toys-​R-​Us with my broken truck, a good positive attitude & my warranty paperwork & we’ll see what happens. I can’t imagine they will honor the warranty but we’ll see.
To my surprise they had me pick out a new RC truck that was comparable in fact it was a more & they did a return for the new RC truck for not 1 penny more! Bottom line is that warranty was 100% right on! So, I’m a happy camper! FYI: Toys-​R-​Us store comes through in a big way with customer service, far better then my recent North Face experience…

Side note: While she was writing me up, the phone rang & she picked it up on the second ring… …too many super-​needy Bellevue people with bad attitudes calling in with ridicules questions? Perhaps…

Whoever runs this store needs to be replaced, messy under staffed and most of the consumable stuff is expired especially the drinks. I feel bad for the general staff.

I had a horrible experience in the Baby r us today. I bought a set of 4 onesies for my 3 month old. The size on them says 6 months. My son is only 15 lb. so i figure they will fit. After washing them before the first time wearing them, we discovered they shrank and no longer fit the baby. At that time we already threw away the tags. So when we took the onesies back, the store refused to let us return them. Instead of helping to resolve our problem, the manager just kept on saying he cant accept the return because its the policy. First, I couldnt belive toys r us would carry suck poor quality goods (shrink after one wash). Second i couldn’t believe how much the manager cared about enforcing the policy instead of helping a loyal customer. #badcustomerservice

We came to this location at 6:55pm on Sunday which granted, was cutting it very close to closing time but we were misled by Google who said it was closing at 8… But, it didn’t matter that we got there in time because they refused to let us in even though the store was not supposed to close for another few minutes. As we drove out of the parking lot because we were turned away, I noticed a time of 6:57 and the were locking one of the sets of doors. I work in retail and understand not wanting people to be in the store too late but instead of asking what we were there for (we only needed to grab some sleep sacks and knew exactly what we wanted) they refused our business. Very rude and not good business. We ended up ordering on Amazon.

What does it take to get these guys to ever answer their phone? Every time I call, I wait for 15 – 20 mins for both either TRU or BRU. I generally hang up and get what I want somewhere else.

I am writing this as I have been here waiting for 2 hours for a Power Wheels jeep to be assembled that should have been ready 3 DAYS AGO! I tried calling before I came because I had a sneaking suspicion that something would go wrong because the guy that rang me up had no clue what he was doing. But, considering the phone has incessantly rang since I’ve been here, I see why my call was never answered. My advice is if your have something that needs to be assembled to do it yourself, especially during the holidays. The only reason I am giving this location 2 stars is because they at least had the product I was looking for.

I came to pick up a toy using their online pick-​up system and it went smoothly enough. The staff are scarce but very helpful. The store is neat enough and they didn’t give me a hard time at the register as I was walking out (toy in hand) with the mailing receipt.

Like everyone says, they don’t answer the phone here. I just let it ring for 5 full minutes with no answer. Its 1pm on a Tuesday, so the store is open. This is after they told me yesterday «call tomorrow and check if your bike is built».
The store looks very run down on the outside. The inside is packed but sadly, is so gender-​toy-​divided that I get pissed off each time I go in there. There are no such thing as «girl toys» and «boy toys» dammit. Just toys. Why are the science toys in the blue section? Why are the guitars in the blue section (with a convenient pink/​flower one just in case anyone was looking for one for a girl *eyeroll*)? WHY ARE THE CLEANING TOYS IN THE PINK SECTION??? FFS, men need to clean their own homes, cook their own food, and will likely be fathers some day. They need to learn these basic skills too.
tl;dr: ugly outside. Gendered separation. never answers phone.

THIS PLACE DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. It went between music and ringing for 5 minutes and still nobody answered the phone. I just gave up. That is just flat out horrible customer service.

I hate a love/​hate relation with this store what’s not to love about a toy store. What I don’t like is that I can never get any help when I am in the store and it is a small store so it is hard to push a cart through the isles during the holidays. They also don’t like to answer the phones the times I have tried to call.

They DON’T ANSWER THE PHONE!!! Seems like most people have the same problem with Bellevue Toys are us, they are the only Toys are us who don’t pickup phone for customer queries. Shame! Bad customer Service.

What happened Toys R Us? Was I just a blind, 8 year old fool, to think you used to be a great place to get all of my videogame needs? Came here for a Wii remote plus and saw that they had a «hot price» offer on it (it was a pretty catchy, in your face red tag, so I’ll give them that) and if «hot» means more than any other story, then I guess they’re right, because their Wii remote plus was $ 15 more than Amazon and $ 10 more than Target! I know you’re struggling to regain your former 90s glory Toys R Us, but this isn’t the way to do it. Goodbye childhood… OOH, A FREEZE POP!

I’m not about the ‘kid thing’ right now, but many of my friends are having kids so I have to adapt ;)
Yesterday I went into Toys R Us to look for a present for a 1yo. I was lost from the moment I got out of my car in the parking lot. I found my way into the store and was completely overwhelmed and lost. Bear in mind I don’t have a clue what a 1yo boy wants (or should get) for his birthday.
I wondered around the store (full lap) before ending up back at Customer Service. I waited my turn until a nice woman asked if I needed help. I said I needed a personal shopper and provided a description of the birthday boy.
The associate was energetic and very helpful. She showed me to several sections with toys (both fun and learning type) and I easily chose two toys that went over well with the birthday boy and his parents.
Additionally, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the store.

Although I love the store, I hate their customer service, both in store and online.
In store customer representatives are not enthu about helping out and don’t have enough inventory knowledge. The online customer service is even worse. First of all, they take forever to pick up the phone. After that, they put you on hold after getting the product id info. and never come back (or come back with useless info.).

No one seems to be able to pick up a phone here. Was on hold for over 4 minutes. My time is better spent browsing Unilocal for better toy stores.

I’m a little surprised with the glowing reviews of this place. I remember when this store was my own personal Mecca where I would beg, scream, and cry for my parents to take me here. I would walk into the store, look at the brightly lit aisles of toys that seemed to glow in their packaging and jump around giddily.
Well, maybe it’s because I’m 24 that it doesn’t seem the same, but this store seemed kind of dirty, poorly lit, and overwhelming. They do have a great selection and seem fairly fair in their pricing… it just doesn’t glow like it used to. Maybe it’s my age-​bias.
I came here to look for some board games for a game night and found pink scrabble! That made it worth the trip. Although the surly, bored-​looking checkout girl may have suggested otherwise. If anyone needs to know what the word «monotonous» means, just go there and listen to her talk while she was explaining the rewards program.
