Top Pot Doughnuts

I really like the donuts here because they really scream desserts. The sweetness is there and your arteries seems to be more clogged after finishing one up.
I tried the salted caramel donut and it was pretty delicious. The dough has this nice bite that feels slightly crunchy and sweet. For someone who is not that interested with donuts, this particular flavor got me hooked and I’ve been looking forward to trying out unique flavors from this spot. My kids also love this place and it’s one of the stops when we’re by the Lego store.
Service is typical but I wouldn’t say it’s bad. If they’re busy, then expect it to be slow. Coffee is not bad either for a donut place. Watch out for mochas as it can be overly sweet.
Pricewise, it’s on the higher end for a donut but you get what you pay for. This place brings justice to the American pastry we all love to hate but can’t because we’re just inlove with it.

I like their teas… good flavors! Ladies are nice and working hard! Going back again!

Every year around Easter I stay at a hotel across the street; one of the highlights of the annual trip is the chance to partake of Top Pot Donuts yet again, as we do not have them back home in California. This Top Pot Doughnuts is located inside the Bellevue Square mall. They serve quite a variety of donuts and expresso drinks to go with them.
On my last visit, I decided to try a salted feather boa (a cake donut with chocolate icing and coconut shavings) and a salted caramel old fashioned donut with an Americano to wash them down. Both of the donuts were fabulous in their own way, and the Americano was as good as any I’ve had elsewhere.
I have to admit that these donuts are on the pricey side, but I honestly feel that they are well worth it. If you want cheap donuts you can pick them up at any grocery store; these donuts are special. The different types of donuts are color coded by price.

I carried my tasty treats out into the mall and found a comfy spot to sit and chill nearby. There’s just nothing like chilling with Top Pot! I can’t wait for next Easter to roll around!

Review: Because I saw Unilocal reviews said this coffee shop has the most popular donuts in Seattle, I tried it. However, it is disappointed. It is too cold. The raspberry source is too sweet. There is no source inside the Donut.

Ratings is not due to the service or quality of doughnuts. Friendly service and was almost to closing time so not many choices left. The doughnuts are just on the pricey side.
On a different visit, they had doughnut holes and were just the right size for a pick me up. Fresh and never a day old.

So I don’t understand why people can’t love this place! It is the best ever! The donuts are OMG and the customer service is awesome. I had a Blueberry Fritter and a Raspberry Raised Ring. Danielle and Jho are the best-​est

I agree with other review about the service not being the best. Felt like it was a bother to make my coffee drink which really tasted like old drip coffee anyway, not a fresh cappuccino. The doughnuts were just ok also tasted kind of old and not fresh. Not planning a return visit.

Well what can I say. We are on a mini vacation from Southern California, I’ve heard so many great things about this place and the doughnuts. So of course I wanted to check it out.
Where to begin, first off the customer service was probably the worst I’ve had in a very long time. We were not greeted by either employee. I actually had to say hello to them. And yes they seen us as a matter of fact they were sort of just starring at us. So we still proceeded to place the order and the entire time it felt like we were bothering these two.
Now for the doughnut. I wish I could say they were amazing, but they weren’t even ok. Tasted stale and old. Couldn’t finish them at all. I ordered a classic glazed ring and my bf got 3 mini assorted. Overall a waste of time and money. Wont be returning.

The novelty has worn off. Maybe it’s because I can remember a time before there was Top Pot Doughnuts, yet now they’re sprouting up all over the place. Maybe it’s because I loved donuts when I was younger, but I’m sick of them now. Or maybe it’s just because it takes more than this to impress me at Bellevue Square, but this particular store does nothing for me. It does make me fatter, but that has never been the reason for a positive review.
The donuts do taste good, but that’s hardly a compliment. Some of them are designed into pretty shapes, but they’re most likely nothing you haven’t seen before. I shared a box of a half dozen with my family and tried to pick the one that looked least sugary. The problem is that they ALL looked too sugary. The chocolate one I grabbed actually surprised me with the cream inside, as if my dietary habits weren’t making me feel guilty enough. If I’m in the area and need extra calories, I might stop by here for another half dozen. Otherwise, it gets a pass.

Got the old fashioned donut. It was pretty good. It wasn’t too overly sugary like how most donuts are. They have different price point for different donuts. Service was okay.

I do not usually eat doughnuts… BUT these doughnuts are gourmet and unique when it comes to the flavor combinations, a must try when you come to Seattle!

Top Pot has in the last couple years gone on a large expansion binge of opening stores in the Seattle area. So it is not surprising that they opened a location at Bellevue Square.
This location near Nordstrom’s lower level west entrance is smaller than other locations including the standalone one down the street. With the space limitations, I highly doubt they actually bake the doughnuts but rather have them trucked from elsewhere.
The interior of the store is nicely designed with the order counter reminiscent of the look of the Top Pot food truck trailer. There is not a whole lot of seating inside the store. It is limited to counter seating, though just outside the store are a few tables.
The selection appears to be smaller than at other locations, but there are still a lot of doughnuts to choose from including favorites like apple fritters and maple bars.
I visited the shop during the Seahawks run-​up to the Super Bowl so they also carried a Seahawks themed doughnut. I did also see a UW Huskies themed version as well.
The doughnuts vary in price and I have found it confusing to order at Top Pot because doughnut prices are not well displayed. Fortunately, they have a color coded sign (like conveyor belt sushi restaurants) with the pricing which range from $.99 to $ 2.49.
This store is not as well-​staffed as other locations. On this occasion, I only saw one person operating the shop. Given the foot traffic at Bellevue Square, I think two at a minimum would be more appropriate on busier days like the weekend.
The doughnuts here are on par with the ones that I have tried at the other locations. The drip coffee here was just okay. I actually prefer Starbucks over Top Pot in this arena.
If you are looking for a doughnut fix at the mall, Top Pot is the definite spot. Though you are better off taking your doughnuts to go if you want a coffee fix as well since the ambiance here is a bit lacking.

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I ordered a seasonal doughnut (chocolate snow drift, I think. It was peppermint and chocolate) and I liked how it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet. It didn’t taste not-​fresh, which was nice. It was also quite big — these doughnuts are not small by any means! If one doughnut doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, I don’t know that anything will. The selection is also nice, probably 15 – 20 different kinds of doughnuts available.
There isn’t any ambiance, like someone else mentioned — but it is tucked away in a quiet corner of the mall, so you don’t see too many people (I like that as well).
The coffee was okay, not really anything special — so I don’t particularly recommend it. You’re better off going to Tully’s right above Top Pot if you’re looking for coffee. Also! Free wifi.

I’m skeptical about eating at the mall because almost always will it end up below par. However, I’ve been eager to try Top Pot Doughnuts and couldn’t pass this up because of the convenience and how hard is it to mess up on doughnuts…
In general, small selection of doughnuts. My bf and I chose the last Salted Caramel Old Fashion ($ 2.25). I think it was my first time having an Old Fashion ever and I really enjoyed the texture of it! Flavorwise… not amazing as Salted Caramel should be but still good and sweet.
Next time I try Top Pot, I would go to a real location with more selection.

So I heard that top pot was the place to go for some donuts in the Seattle area. I was excited to try it. Even made a cutesy taste made video of it.
This location is in the mall so you can’t really expect much for ambiance. There is a cute trailer set up for the counter which is cool.
The donut selection is moderate I’d say. We got a raspberry raised donut and a maple glazed blueberry donut. Overall the taste was good. The donuts didn’t really taste all that fresh and the consistency was really really dense. It is chewy and delicious (I mean how can you go wrong with donuts) but is say it’s pretty average. Not the best donut I’ve ever had.
Coffee wise, there’s a great selection. I got a latte which was really good.
Overall, if you are strolling through the mall and happen upon it, why not? But I wouldn’t go out of my way.

I’ve been hearing the raves for a long time, but never bother to «test» Top Pot doughnuts. This trip was a test of the simple glazed doughnut. The taste is very good and the dough part is moist and heavy. On my simple «Krispy Kreme scale» palette, I felt the doughnut was not as light and airy as a «hot when flashing» Krispy Kreme variey.
Very good compared to Dunkin’ Doughnuts and nowhere near as good as the Café du Monde! There is limited seating and the price was reasonable, but again Krispy Kreme has a price advantage.

This top pot definitely doesn’t have the same feel as the full size stores. I am comparing this to their Belltown location which I have been to before. Their selection of doughnuts seem to be smaller since the display case is not as big as usual. Maybe it was because I went in the afternoon and they had already sold out on some of them. I had ordered the glazed doughnut and it was very good with a very soft texture. Yum!!!
I am not sure if they bake their doughnuts here since I didn’t see any baking areas in the back or if they are brought over from another location. The place was very busy on a Sunday afternoon and they have a limited amount of seating area.

Sadly, I have to update my review… After two additional visits, I have found that the quality of the doughnuts here really declines near the afternoon and evening hours. It is sad, I understand they do not bake their doughnuts here (they are brought from another store), but they really need to ensure the quality is at a level Top Pot is known for.
As far as service goes, this location is far off the mark when it comes to the legendary service standards Top Pot claims to have. On my last two trips, they have had way to many associates working with nothing to do. This gives the impression when you walk up like you are interrupting them, which a guest should never have. On my coffee order today, the staff was arguing about how to make it. For an expensive coffee drink, this is not what I want to see staff doing. I felt like telling them how to make the drink (as I know how), but this would have been to awkard. As a result, the shot expired and had a very burnt/​bitter taste to it with little flavor. Very disappointing and there was no carmel sauce on the top, which is a industry standard for the beverage ordered.
If I am in need of a good doughnut in the early hours of the day, I will return, otherwise, I will stick to Nordstroms Ebar for my drinks and Macys Frango bars for my sweet fix… Sorry Top Pots, but I sadly can not recommend you to others who ask for a great place to get coffee or snacks anymore.

Yay cute infamous top pot donut shop opened up today (May 3^rd) inside bellevue square mall next to Northface. i was excited to have one after a long exhausting day of work and got 3 minis for $ 2.
The shop features a cutout version of their mobile truck inside and sells the same assortments as the regular shop with an espresso menu. They’re known for their large donut bars and old fashion glazed donuts but it’s hard to get a fresh one later in the day. I highly recommend that they bring in fresh donuts halfway through the day for people like me who crave sweets before dinner :) glad to have another place opening in the mall!
