Description

Specialties

We’re confident you’ll love our comprehensive 8 class Salsa Basics + Bachata series. Connect with your passion for life. Dance is a healthy exercise and great way to meet new friends. Our instructors have over 12 years teaching experience.

Salsaymotion (pronounced salsa emotion) offers dance lessons in Salsa Basics: Fundamental Skills, Bachata Basics (Fundamental Skills & Combinations, Salsa Partnering 1 (Footwork & Combinations), Men & Ladies Styling, and LA Style Combinations.

We give students the individual attention and feedback they need to fine-tune their technique and advance as dancers. We teach students how to move as dancers, which goes far beyond just teaching the steps. Once the basics have been mastered, students can easily advance to learning different combinations and execute them with confidence. We understand how learning to dance can feel intimidating at first. Our studio is a non-threatening environment where everyone can express themselves through movement.

History

Established in 2010.

This mother and son team have learned how students benefit by focusing on proper form and technique while making the whole experience of learning to dance fun. They taught in Seattle for many years until Sonny Newman’s Dance Hall closed. During that time, Johnny Bravo created one of the premier Salsa teams in the Northwest. Samantha and Johnny have successfully taught everyone from beginners with two left feet to competition-level dancers.

After numerous requests for classes on the Eastside, they moved to Harmony Ballroom in Bellevue and established Salsaymotion Dance Academy.

Meet the Business Owner

Samantha and Johnny B.

Business Owner

Samantha Brava is an accomplished instructor, well rounded in art of lead and follow techniques as well as footwork, styling, and connection. Samantha was the first woman in the Northwest to teach Ladies’ Styling, still one of her most popular classes. She has trained many of the best dancers in the Northwest. When watching Samantha dance, you’ll understand why many people call her the «Queen of Salsa.» Samantha has been teaching Salsa in Seattle for over 12 years.

Johnny Bravo is a competition level dancer who also loves teaching Salsa. Johnny was a finalist in the Mayan Competition, Professional Class. When you see him dance with speed, sabor, and grace, it will come as no surprise that he’s a championship dancer. He has choreographed and trained dancers for competition but most of his students just enjoy dancing socially and Johnny makes it a fun and exciting experience. He is the Creative Director of the Johnny Bravo Dance Team. They perform locally and nationally.
