Piedmont

This review is coming from a potential resident but i never decided to live here for reasons. I just wanted to share my experience when i went to look at apartments available last year.
The first visit in 2014 was at the beginning of the year. The staff was very unfriendly to us. The guy who i talked to said right away that they had nothing to show us and the only thing that was available was a 1 bedroom. He was very commercial like when talking to us, making it sound more like a automated message than a real person. He just gave us a bunch of paperwork and went over the price. He then said after all of that, that we could see the model apartment and so off we went. It was nice but the guy didn’t want us being in there for too long since he said he was going to close up the office soon. Oh… thanks…that makes it sound like you really want us to live here. So after only taking a quick peek before we were escorted out of the building, we asked if he could contact us if a 2 bedroom came up. He said sure, took down my phone # and email and i waited 3 months to hear from him. Nothing ever happened.
I then came back in the summer and there was a completely different staff and a new surprise. The leasing manager was different but still sounded very commercial. Why does everyone here talk as if they are a recording? But he started acting better once he showed me the same model i had barely seen. When walking up to the unit, the parking lot was crowded, there were kids running in and out of the pool and were extremely loud, even when inside the apartment. The pool was outside of the model unit but it was a good deal far away from the balcony. Yet i was surprised at how much noise you can hear inside the unit with everything closed. The one good thing i like is how huge the complex is, it feels almost like a park! The landscape is wonderful and the location is hidden from the busy road almost. However the 2^nd bedroom in the model unit was the tiniest bedroom i’ve ever been in. It was more of a guest/​kids size than a young adults room cause you could only put a queen size bed and 1 – 2 small tables on each side. The closet was even small but the master bedroom was HUGE! way too huge infact! It didn’t need to be that big. The apartment was so disproportionate when it came to the bedrooms but the rest of the apartment was nice. The other problem was that the unit was too hot! There was no air circulation and the leasing manager looked as if he was about to pass out. It was really uncomfortable. The carpets looked nice but i could tell they were the same carpets as my old place that trapped in dirt and was unwashable. So overall the unit wasn’t that great.
After we got back to the office, he said there would be a 2 bedroom available soon but we wanted to come back to actually see the unit. He said sure, gave me the paperwork and i gave him my email and #, then i waited. He said the unit was going to be available at the end of July but i got no phone calls and no email. That is what was so upsetting about this place! no one bothered to keep to their word. Maybe they didn’t like us? Maybe they were all snobs. Maybe they only select who they like to live there from first glances. Oh and about the price for the units, they upped the price dramatically in just 6 months. Way too overpriced for a place like that. If you have kids, this might work out but i don’t know what the problem is with the staff. Not coming back here again to look.

I have been staying at these apartments for a couple of years now and had a pretty good experience. The staff is decent. The proximity to cross roads mall makes living here very convenient.

Horrible management. Recently the management changed hands and maintenance has been really bad since then. Their resident web portal is crap. Had issues with online payment system for a long time.
The management’s suggestion was to check their website if they processed the rent for on 2^nd of every month and give them them a check if the online system failed to process the rent. If I had to do it every month why the hell would I even setup the automatic rent payment.
I thought that it is not a big deal. So I went to the leasing office on 29 the and asked how much I should pay for next month (rent + utilities) and paid the amount. Then on 1^st they made some adjustment and computed that I had to pay around 90 $ more. I did not receive any kind of notification and they promptly dispatched a eviction notice five days later. Can’t they give call or drop a note if they corrected the figure that they gave???
Now to top it all half my apartment has no power (probably due to a blown fuse) and they have not responded to my maintenance request.

I have stayed here for close to 2 years. Staff is good. But if you willing to move in here please make sure two things.
1) make sure that your move-​in inspection is very detailed and covering minor things including dust on windows etc.
2) Be careful about the bed bugs! Apartment community pays for the treatment but it goes up to two months and highly uncomfortable. We had to go through this pain.
3) I have cleaned everything better than move-​in, spending a day. But you will be charged regardless how clean it is upon move out.
Move-​out inspection was very aggressive. Other than that I can not blame much.
Nice community to stay. Staff is good.
