Visited this smaller location of KCLS for a group meeting a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. I will have to visit again when I have more time to sit, research, read or type. I enjoyed the location, the larger room where we met for our meeting was lovely and I found the view only mildly distracting in the best of ways.

I love my library! It’s small, yes, but what a beautiful setting. I generally order/​place holds online and just swing in to pick up my materials. It’s low-​hassle and easy to use. When I’ve had to interact with staff, they are gracious and knowledgeable. I realized how much I relied on this library when they were doing renovations and I had to go to Factoria mall for pickups! So glad they are back and will be a supporter for many years.

This was my local library growing up and even though I now live in Renton I still stop by occasionally when visiting my mother. Prior to its remodel I would’ve given Newport Way 5 stars, but I am rather peeved by the fact that patrons are now required to return materials via automated book return. Sure this probably saves the librarians oodles of time, but the 2 machines can be rather persnickety and seem to break down easily. As for selection, there’s an impressive amount of books, DVDs and CDs for such a small branch. The library is surrounded by trees, which makes it feel quite cozy, and there are some cool sculptures outside. Newport Way will always have a special book-​filled place in my heart (although I miss the librarians who worked there for years. Word on the street is they jumped ship during the remodel due to poor treatment).

man, i love this library. it’s small and reminds me of my childhood. it’s got a good little zen thing going outside for all to enjoy when the weather is good. on the not so nice weather days (think winter), the indoors has some nice nooks and crannies to shove yourself into, if you so feel like it.
this KCLS branch has some good copies of DVD’s on stock and cd’s that i like, so that’s always a plus. it’s also got a healthy little kids section and good reads for all those that have reading capabilities post kindergarden.
granted, they seem to have more biographies, mysteries and romance novels than some other books… but, they relaly do have a good selection for all.
it’s small, communal, and well loved by its patrons.
