Neighbor’s Moving & Storage

I’ve now used Neighbor’s for a local and a long-​distance move. I don’t really have anything to add from my last review, everything went great. Now I have more time to deal with all the problems Comcast causes when I move.

My move experience last week was pretty unsatisfactory.
Here are some of the issues:
— Movers didn’t show up in the specified window and went pretty late. No one called me to tell me; I had to call and ask where they were multiple times.
— My furniture/​boxes weren’t handled with care, they left stuff lying around various parts of the building while waiting to load it, and did not wrap or protect it in any way. When they carried it they weren’t gentle; they were throwing it around and banged it into walls etc. There was some damage on some of the furniture and the at least one of the walls of my house.
— They took my keys and did not return them. Both the moving company and worker agreed to return them multiple times but it took 5 days, an hour long round trip drive on my part, and time out of my work day to get them back. Moving company has never even followed up again; you would think they would be more concerned about their workers taking keys and not returning them.
It seems like there’s a lot of variability in quality/​professionalism when you look at the reviews here on Unilocal.Do yourself a favor and go with a more reputable company.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY — Buyers BEWARE of this company. Not only are they unprofessional but also unethical. We booked them with the express instruction that we had to move out on Saturday the 13^th. That was the only reason we had contacted them since they assured us that they were available on that day. Two days prior to our move they called asking us to move our date, we informed them that we couldn’t they and expressed our concern about them being able to deliver. they assured us that they would be there on saturday –we routinely called the following days to confirm that they would show up — and they once again assured us they would be there. On saturday, they failed to show up at the time specified, we kept calling and leaving messages with no response –LETS NOT FORGET THAT THEY BILLED MY CREDIT CARD FOR A DEPOSIT. Hence we were not able to move out and ended up paying the landlord a «holdover» fee. We began calling them at 7 am the next morning, we finally got someone to answer, they told us that they had tied calling us and they didn’t show up because we didn’t answer, which was a blatant lie as they had 3 cell phone numbers and our home phone number, and we had no missed calls. When asked if they would send someone today, we were told that it depended on how many of their crew shows up and we should wait around. There was no apologies –they acted as if they were doing us a favor — they finally showed up late sunday and not only did they demand almost double of what they quoted they told us they would charge but wanted $ 20 per piece of furniture they were «required» to wrap (despite the fact that we had most of it wrapped they insisted on rewrapping). Other option they gave us was to pay under the table and we would get a discount. Needless to say we did not use them despite the fact that we had to pay our landlord 3 days of holdover fees-​it gets better– I am now having to dispute the credit card charge for the deposit. THIS COMPANY IS NOT ONLY UNETHICAL BUT ALSO LACKS PROFESSIONALISM, LIE & TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOMERS IN DESPERATE SITUATIONS. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

I moved about three months ago, and this is the second time i have used Neighbors. The first experience was 5 star rating which is why i chose to use then again. Unfortunately this turned out to be a worse experience than any of my past moves and I have had a few major disappointments. Honestly, I would have been better off having friends help me for beer and pizza and that is even if they were drinking well before actually touching my furniture.
First problem is the quote. The quote i was given over the phone was around $ 600. I explained to the the dispatcher that my father would be paying for my move so i needed him to get the quote approved by him including when they came the morning of to take a look at the actual apartment. when the guys showed up they quoted me almost twice as much as they had told my father so asked them to please call my father and get his approval first because he would be paying for the move. He assured me the quote was «worse case scenario» he did not believe it would take that long at all. but agreed to call my father, which i later found out no one ever did contact him to let him know how much more it would be. At the end of the day, it was over $ 2000! which my father was not aware of nor did he have enough to cover the full amount. and they hadn’t even finished the job at this point. I had to stop them and tell them to PLEASE call my father and make sure that he would have enough to cover this because he was only anticipating around $ 600 for the move. the final bill was over $ 1200 so they had to stop what they were doing and take the rest of my things (which was more than half of it) to storage until Monday when i could get the rest together. costing me more than $ 300 dollars additional. this move ended up costing over $ 1400 for a job they quoted.
Second, major problem… they broke my daughters bed. they knew that they did they even called their dispatcher to tell him that they stripped all the screws trying to take it apart. I was never offered the 60 cents per lb. they say they will pay if anything is damaged. at first i thought will, maybe that is something i can fix but the other day when i went in to the room we have been storing it in to take to my fathers so we could try to repair it we discovered that the pegs were also broken off and the head board was significantly cracked beyond repair along with the drawers that go under the bed were completely broken.
terrible moving experience and would not ever recommend them again. I actually feel bad because my prior experience with them had been so good that i had recommended them to several friends and neighbors. So much for using «professional movers» you are better off having friends help. that is what i will be doing in the future. i will never use a so called professional company again. its just not worth it.

This is the second time we use Neighbor’s Moving. Delighted with the service and professionalism of the movers. They were fast, courteous and careful with our stuff which ended saving us money.
I recommend you ask for Lenin, Edgar and Damian. They were fast and non-​stop!

These guys were prompt, fast, friendly, and organized. I was impressed by the responsiveness and help I received from the office people as well. A few pieces of furniture and some walls got dinged, but the overall experience was very good.

We did a partial move from Seattle to Snoqualmie and were very pleased with the service we got, both from the office (BJ and also Lucas Meier) and from the movers and packers, Robin B. and Chris. They were competent, efficient, professional and were very careful, so we had no breakage or damage of any kind. Robin, as the lead, was outstanding and had everything under control. We will certainly recommend Neighbors Moving & Storage when people ask about movers. Also, the quote we got was very accurate in spite of my somewhat vague description to BJ on the phone — another plus.

I had a wonderful experience with neighbors this past weekend. They arrived 5 mins before the earliest time quoted. After the walk through their office quoted me at over 1200 and I ended up paying much less. Their office quoted it would take 6 hours and they finished in under 4 hours. The guys were very nice and gentle with my items. There were no damages caused by the movers. Jay gave wonderful customer service over the phone as well.

Best move ever! Everyone was very professional at Neighbor’s and gave me great peace of mind. Lenin and his team were careful and efficient and went beyond the usual service you get from movers. They put extra effort into getting all my furniture in my house and garage saving me expensive storage costs. I highly recommend this moving company.

We used neighbors moving in February to move us, and it was a terrible experience. We had a fairly simple move, but first the guys showed up and told us they were tired, them they argued over the paperwork for 30 mins, they wanted to charge $ 15 to wrap every piece of furniture. Secondly, they said what we wanted moved was inconsistent with the paperwork which they didn’t even have to show. Our Internet was down, all packed up, so we had to haggle over what was on my wife’s phone. We were promised 4 hours and they could increase the allotment by 3o mins by contract, but we only got 3 hours and 15 mins. After i went through our checklist and all of the bickering, they didnt move everything they promised they would. It took a week to get in touch with the local manager Randy, and he said he could help but never called me back. It was the worst service I’ve ever been provided by any business ever in any part of the world I’ve been and I’ve been a lot of places. I know they are bound by laws but they use them to their advantage to argue and not do any work.
I do not recommend this moving company.

WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!! They never showed or called the day of our move. We booked a moving date way in advance, had a confirmation printout, and confirmed by phone the day before. We were told when we confirmed that they wouldn’t arrive until between 5−9pm! At 8:30pm we started calling the company, but only got through to an answering machine. For your own sake and peace of mind DON’T USE THIS COMPANY!!!
