I wish I wrote this earlier or read reviews before investing time and money into this place!!! I’ve had 8 friends in the last year get stuff from here but didn’t hear the horrible similar experiences until I experienced it first hand. They are closing, so needless to say there are zero shits given when it comes to the customer. My friend and I stuff is all at least two months late, half came after the baby arrived and no refunds are given even if they are over 4 months late (which happened to me). Beautiful cribs, BUT GO THROUGH THE VENDOR DIRECTLY!!! Best advice I wish I would have received! They are nice, until they get your money. After that they don’t care when your stuff arrives, where the shipping status is, or if you even get it. Please avoid, pregnancy already has a lot of stress no need for people who blatantly disrespect you after forking out quite a bit of money. Good luck! Wish I would have saved money and gone with one off amazon I would have gotten right away

Was excited to check out this place when picking out furniture for out sons nursery. We were so excited to have received a hefty gift card to the store. The location is good and easy to find and they had a good selection of in stock furniture.
The main drawback would be the level of customer service to us did not match the price level of the items carried. When spending over $ 1,000 for a single nursery item I would expect to be treated significantly better, possibly offered even a water at the least.
I entered the store thinking it would be a similar experience to purchasing a large item at nordstrom, where they offer snacks and a glass of champagne or bottle of water. I left feeling like I had purchased something from a Fred Meyer.

Went in here to check out the baby items and a couple of observations:
1) Staff did not greet us at all when we walked in here — no eye contact or anything (and it’s not like they were busy!).
2) When we had a couple of questions on some of the strollers later the sales rep could not be bothered and was just downright impatient. If you hate your jobs so much people, please don’t work here!
Bottom line, I don’t care how good your items are — if you treat people like crap, I will simply not buy from you.

We drove up to seattle from Portland on Saturday in search for a crib and dresser, and had several stores on our agenda. Merry Go Round was first on our list and we ended up spending close to 3 hours in the shop! Molly and her staff were patient, informative and very helpful. They even insisted that we bring our 80lb black lab into the store, and he spend most of the time in there with us.
My husband and I value quality craftsmanship, safe and environmentally friendly products that will last, and we could not have asked for a better selection or a more friendly staff to work with.
We thought we would have to order our furniture, but it was important enough for us to make the drive to Seattle to see the quality of the lines we were interested in before purchasing. We were elated to find out that we could purchase furniture off the floor, and ended up purchasing a beautiful Natart crib and dresser. I will definitely be sending friends from Portland to Merry Go Round for baby and nursery needs. Both the products and customer service were top notch!

After reading other reviews I was a little nervous about how I’d get treated in the store. I went in to look at strollers and they had a good selection of high end strollers. One sales person immediately saw us (there was only another couple in the store) and hovered a bit. She was very helpful with information about the strollers, and I thought she did a great job. She gave us a lot of information and didn’t need to be prodded. When we started looking at other merchandise, I did feel a little overwhelmed by the selling they were doing.
I had a short encounter with their second sales person, who is definitely the one that Unilocalers talk about as being a huge snob. I had been looking at a $ 2000 nursing chair (yes, pregnancy makes you crazy), and I commented on the price, and she smirked at me and made some comment about how this wasn’t «IKEA» furniture. Well clearly it isn’t, because an IKEA chair would not cost me $ 2000 unless I bought the entire store. So, I definitely did not appreciate that. If you are looking for some high end baby stuff this is the place.
Ultimately we did not purchase because of all the Unilocalers that have had problems with their store policies.

If you are going to read any review on this store, let it be this one. I am going to be totally honest. This store is EXCELLENT for those customer who are looking for the following:
1) QUALITY!
2) Customer service that actually cares and knows great details about each item.
3) Certified non-​toxic, made in the USA or even better quality, not mass made in China crap.
4) Willing to wait possibly a few weeks for your shipment to arrive.
If you are the following customer, do not go here (go to Babies R Us instead):
1) Looking for cheap, fast crap.
2) Don’t care about customer service that knows anything or wants to help you.
3) Don’t care about mass made crap from China that is not certified non-​toxic and made with 100% non-​toxic glue and materials.
4) Not willing to wait, want your baby furniture or stroller right now, doesn’t matter the quality, you want it now.
All bad reviews of this store are because those customers were the latter. This is a specialty boutique store. You are going to get great service and great quality. Yes, you will have to wait for your larger items to be shipping in. Some of their furniture is even hand made to order. Honestly, we bought a $ 490 convertible crib here but they have cribs from ~$ 200 t0 $ 2,000.
The difference between the crib we bought from Marry Go Round and the crib we could have bought for the same price from Babies R Us is the quality. I am willing to wait 3 — 4 weeks to have our crib shipped to us because I know the quality it there. My husband was a specialty carpenter and he said the furniture at Marry Go Round is much MUCH better than Babies R Us. You touch their cribs and you can feel how unstable they are.
We have bought other items here and found their staff to be fantastic! They are willing to spend 90 minutes answering your questions about everything. They are helpful, caring and no, they do not based on commission sales, so they are NOT «high pressure». Please, they are so sweet here.
My husband and I are very critical of all baby stores. We have been to 6 stores around Seattle and the East Side looking for the right crib. We were blown away at the difference in quality items at Merry Go Round compared to the other big box baby stores.
Give them a try, speak with the owner Molly or Colleen. Both have been a great big help to us in determining which baby stroller, car seat, crib, etc… that we would be going with.
As first time parents we feel like every decision is very important and must be researched. I have spent over 10 hours online researching baby things, like car seats, and Colleen was able to answer all of my questions in 10 minutes. She saved me hours of agonizing googling.
Thank you Colleen and thank you Molly, and all of the staff at Merry Go Round. My husband and I will be buying all of our baby stuff at your store. Thank you for being a fantastic local family run store.

I’d been searching for a store that sells higher end double jogging strollers because I didn’t want to just order something offline without checking it out first. I called and the lady I spoke with (Peg?) was extremely friendly and helpful so I drove right over. She walked me through every detail of the City Mini CT double jogger and answered all of my questions. The stroller wasn’t over priced (marked the same price on Amazon, etc.) All in all I had a great experience there and I’m very happy with my purchase.

I should have read April’s review below. We stopped by on Sunday and bought $ 1500+ of goods (1 stroller and 1 chair). They took my credit card and told me the stroller will take 3 weeks to get here and the chair 12 weeks. I kept asking about their return policy and they told me it is 2 weeks. In fact, they said it’s 2 weeks after the goods arrive.
2 days later (Tuesday), I decided that the 2 weeks return policy is too strict since I won’t have my baby yet for another 3 months. So I asked if I could cancel and return the stroller (which costs over $ 700 with all the components we purchased). They said no, since they had to «special order» from the manufacturer. I asked about the 2 week return policy, they said — that only applies to in stock items. The only other option for me would be for me to return it after the stroller arrives, and lose 50% of the money! What???
I feel they are really dishonest about the return policy, especially given that we had asked at least 3 times about it and were told it is 2 weeks.
I would never shop there again and do not recommend anyone doing it. I thought about supporting a local business — but really with these tactics, I would rather buy everything from online businesses that have way better customer service.

Looking at other reviews, it seems that they gravitate towards either end of the spectrum. This one is on the high end.
We visited this store because they are the only one carrying more serious jogger strollers we can’t find at any other stores such as the City Elite and Summit (Babies R Us more than often runs out of popular ones even Mini GT, and REI only has Bob’s). One staff Colleen is super attentive and knowledgeable about all-​things strollers. (we’re planning to use Britax infant car seat with the Mini GT, instead of starting off with much heavier real jogger — the adapter is available for $ 20). Price-​wise, their City strollers are full price while any Britax products are always 20% off… and the store offers tax discount on some weekends like today (father’s day).
We ended up buying a set of dresser and crib from Molly. She sounded a little short while talking to other customers but was really friendly while we started talking to her. We would know how thing really is on the delivery front in a few weeks. Will report back if we don’t think they deserve a 5-​star.
UPDATE: the delivery folks were on-​time, professional and extremely nice. We would shop from this place again next time we need new baby furniture.

I did not enjoy my visit here. We learned a couple things about the strollers we were checking out, but that was only after much pushing. We were also told a bunch of things that weren’t true (seriously: a Britax stroller doesn’t require a Britax car seat – you can buy an adapter!). It was frustrating to get straight answers. The first lady who was «helping» us was super loud and snobby. According to her, certain brands just aren’t good enough to be in her store. Ok. Fine. We’ll go elsewhere. And we did.
I wouldn’t recommend coming here to buy anything. Maybe you want to check out some strollers, but you could check out many of the same ones at a Babies R Us. There’s no need to have an attitude or make me spend $$$. Ugh. If you think everything here is a fair price, then maybe you should do a little more research online or at other stores.
The other lady who helped us was much nicer, but she also had some erroneous information. You’d think they would know more since they work in a baby store.

Do they know what customer service means in this store? Witnessed karen today rudely talking to her customer than right after that someone came with a gift card to redeem it and she rudely again told the customer it was expired. Customer showed her the gift card stating no expiration date was written on the card her response you should know that. She told her customer you should be happy i m honoring 50% rather than zero. Wow my first experience in this store and my last. decided to take my business some place else.

It looks like I am joining long list of bad reviews. Too bad I didn’t search for reviews before buying from them. Oh well. Hopping this will help someone to avoid them all together .
Our story pretty simple. Went to the store to look for specific type of stroller. Spend 10 mins of sales person time asking few questions I still had after my research.
1. Is it new born suitable ?
2, Do you have it in stock?
Seller answers were :
Yes it’s can be used as is for newborn, but after searching a bit more it I found out that it needs infant insert. My bad for assuming they actually know what they cell.
As to the second question it turned out they don’t keep them in store, but ordering takes few weeks.
Well next stop to the store was to buy item. After paying I was told few weeks actually means 4 weeks. Seems like small thing and the wait started.
After 2 weeks I got good hand me down stroller from friend. Figured I”ll cancel order and buy jogging type stroller from them.
Well not so fast, we were told stroller probably will be shipped next week
and if want to cancel purchase we have to pay 50% restocking fee.
50% Restocking fee for product you have not received yet…
apparently even though they only had floor demo stroller, buying it makes it special order …
Do yourself a favor keep away from this store.
The funny thing we bought stroller with 12% sale during super ball week .
and it retails for the same price anywhere, so you would think they can cell below market place stroller easily. …

I hadn’t read the reviews prior to visiting, since we just stumbled onto the store. And to be honest I was really surprised by the reviews I read, since our experience was nothing like the other reviewers.
We went there on a Saturday and they were busy, we weren’t dressed up — being really pregnant I was wearing gym pants since nothing else fits and my husband was in jeans — super casual. However, despite being busy all of the staff was super helpful. They took the time to answer all of our questions (and we had a lot), and even though we didn’t plan to buy anything right then.
We ordered a crib, dresser, stroller and car seat and while we have been super happy with everything so far. However, I would say that since many of the items are custom made or shipped from Europe you can expect longer delivery times than many other stores (the stroller and car seat were about 4 weeks and the crib and dresser 12 weeks).
The prices are competitive though — we pulled up the same items on Amazon and the distributors websites while we were in the store and all of the prices were the same or slightly less than what was listed online.
We will definitely shop here in the future.

Decent products and fair price!!! This is a high end specialty baby gear store featuring lots of hard-​to-​find baby gears, accessories, and furnitures.
Seems like most of the complains are about the bad service and the high price??? But what do people actually expect? Do people expect Babies R Us price with Nordstrom’s customer service at every single specialty shop when they are only browsing?
I am satisfied with all my purchases there. crib set (dresser, crib, night stand) and miscellaneous small items. Good communication. Will definitely buy from them again!!!

It was April and I realized I needed to get on the band wagon to get furniture for my third child. She is coming in August and will have nothing much to sleep on since her brother still uses the crib. The service upon entering the store was good. Friendly customer service and my husband basically let me choose what crib I wanted to buy. Picked one out and was told it will take 10 weeks which I thought was fine. Had experienced longer delays with the crib at home but with better notification. Now it is July and I thought it was odd my crib hadn’t arrived. Called them and they told me it will come in August! Who in the world estimates delivery two times longer! I said my child will be born by then. All the owner asked is if I had a pack n play! Are you serious? If not, will they give me one for free? Uh, no!
Thankfully I didn“t order the whole set from them. I took it into my own hands to find the dresser and night stand online after this terrible experience. Ordered those pieces two weeks ago and got the night stand today, delivered to my door, and my dresser will also be here on Wednesday! Unbelievable that they would keep my money and sit on it to collect interest without sending my product to me. Next time I will buy elsewhere. Too bad if things worked out I would’ve easily spent another $ 2000 on the additional pieces and even a glider but not now. They have no idea how much money they lose with their horrible customer service. Don’t quote 10 weeks and lie if it will be longer! Oh, and the other matching pieces I bought online also came from the manufacturer in Canada so there is really no reason for this long delay.
My advice about this place is check out the items at the store — use them to see what’s good. Then run and go elsehwhere to buy it. You will be happier that way.

I agree with other posters — completely dishonest and horrible customer service! First they waited until AFTER I ordered a crib to tell me it would take 10 weeks to come in. They didn’t tell me they had a 50% nonrefundable deposit until after we paid and then it was only on the receipt (not clearly advertised in store). Then they told me the crib was being MADE for me when I said I wanted to return it after ordering it and they took the 50% (even though it hadn’t shipped yet). Pretty funny they claim it’s being crafted for me when I could go to to Babies R Us and get the same one in stock. They were also SO rude!
Because little stores can’t compete with pricing like online stores, their greatest asset is to offer excellent customer service (including returns, honesty, etc.). This place has NONE of that. I experienced rudeness, etc. with the owner — not with the staff!
Because of this experience, I did not make my baby registry with them. I also told two of my pregnant girlfriends (one lives in Bellevue, the other Seattle) to not register with them. After also recently buying a glider and ottoman elsewhere that this store has in stock, they lost tons more than 50% of a crib (oh, and 50% of the tax for the crib the owner insisted they keep — is that even legal?). RIDICULOUS!
UPDATE: I spoke to a friend recently who MADE her registry with this store and ended up canceling it and asking people to return stuff to the store due to bad customer service!

Came in with my 5 month old to look at strollers today and get some info on Britax strollers. Not a huge selection, but decent. I could tell no one was going to approach me so I sought out assistance. The woman who helped me didn’t seem to keen on selling the stroller, I think she expected the stroller to sell itself. She didn’t offer much in the way of educating me on the product or its functionality. I had to ask all the questions. When I asked her the difference between two models she referred me to a poster on the wall showing the different configurations the stroller was able to accommodate. Alrighty then.
She did direct me to the restroom where I could change my daughter when I asked her and offered any comfy glider I saw to feed her. She came by a couple of times to see if I was doing ok.
On a positive note, when I asked about the sound machines they carried, she did offer her preference on which one she favored more and why and it happened to not be the most expensive one. Nothing I dislike more than being led to the more expensive item when a less expensive item is just as great if not better!
All in all I had a decent experience here. They carry many thoughtful and useful items here that aren’t found in big box stores which wins big points for me.

Merry Go Round failed us on multiple fronts. I no longer trust this business, its employees or the products it sells. Here’s why:
Dishonest Service: We ordered two large pieces of baby furniture from Merry Go Round for more than $ 1,500. We agreed to a delivery date when the order was placed. That date came an went for both pieces with no communication from the business. We understand that sometimes things just take more time. The problem is no one at Merry Go Round contacted us to let us know the business would miss the agreed upon delivery date.
This left us with no solution. When we contacted the business (after the missed delivery date) we got nothing but attitude and stalling tactics — this is after we paid in full and signed a contract with delivery date details.
Quality Control — When our merchandise did arrive it was damaged. We chose to purchase from Merry Go Round because the store carried high quality products, but when those products arrive with deficiencies, no one on staff is interested in hearing about it or taking any steps to address the issues.
On the emotional front, the last thing a pregnant women and her partner needs is added stress.
On a professional front, this low level of service is simply absurd from any business these days.
In summary, we consider baby furniture and equipment a worthy investment. We want to work with a business that has great products and we are willing to pay for that. We also want a local resource where we can purchase additional items as our child grows. Unfortunately, Merry Go Round is a destination for dishonesty, attitude and product problems. We will have to look elsewhere for a business that appreciates its customers and wants us to come back.

I see they recently moved around the corner in the same complex to a much smaller location (huge downsize). They do have some great things that you can’t find at Babies R Us but their prices are astronomical and the sales staff rude (unless your spending big $$$). I guess the Bellevue Betty’s aren’t currently popping out pampered princes/​princess’ or they are buying all this really expensive stuff online.
I have bought some great things for my kids and as gifts here (but they were «cheap» things $ 10-​$ 50 range).
