Kang Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Center

I have been experiencing both weight and sleep issues for quite some time. With helps from Dr Hu’s acupuncture, not only I an sleeping soundly now every nights, my weight has also been reducing significantly whilst still staying alert and feel good.
Dr Hu and her staff has always been very friendly to make me feel at ease. I feel encouraged and would definitely recommend her to anyone without any hesitations.

Dr. Erkang Hu is my acupuncturist. She was recommended by my wife, who also gets tremendous relief for muscle pain, and fibromyalgia. My relief is in blood flow, muscle tension and anxiety.
Sessions are friendly and low key. There is consultation about symptoms physically and emotionally. Dr. Hu checks on my digestion, my tongue — things I would not normally think to discuss (and neither do my western/​allopathic physicians, either!)
The rooms are comfortable and peaceful. Staff is bend-​over-​backwards friendly and sessions are prompt. It took me 2 – 3 sessions to really «feel» relief — doesn’t work like a pill.
Most importantly though, Dr. Hu’s approach is caring and gentle. She listens to me and is an integral part of my health care team.
I recommend Kang Acupuncture. Five Stars. You will see.

Dr. Erkang Hu is a gem of a person and a true healer. She has a gift that and I am so fortunate to have found her practice. She has excellent bedside manner and a genuine concern for patients. She will help you if she can fit it into her crazy busy work and personal schedule. She is in high demand because she is so talented at her practice. She will even see me on Friday, normally her off day, if she isn’t already busy. Se is the type of medical practitioner that you know is rooting for your health and is thinking about how she can help you even in her off time.
I have been to two other acupuncturists much closer to where I live and she is by far better by leaps and bounds. I drive 1.5 hours to see her each way and she is worth it. Every time.

I went to see Dr. ErKang not knowing what to expect nor how much help I could really get from acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I was suffering from an inflammation of the thyroid which made me lose weight extremely fast despite a huge appetite, prevented me from sleeping well, made me unable to concentrate at work, and worse of all, changed my personality in a really bad way. I chose Dr. ErKang because I did not want to be placed on a conventional western treatment, which has a lot of bad side effects, and because my husband had been treated by Dr. ErKang some time before for a severe work-​related dermatitis that was extremely stubborn. Amazingly, after only 3 weeks of Chinese herbs, his dermatitis had disappeared (it had been plaguing him for months and getting worse!). It hasn’t come back for the last three years.
At the Kang Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Center, I started with acupuncture and Chinese herbs, but soon discovered that for me, it was the herbs that made a difference. Thanks to them, within three days, I felt better than I had in the last 6 months! At last I could function! At last I could sleep! I took the herbs very dutifully four times a day at first, then three, then twice a day for six months (they aren’t so bad, and you get used to the taste anyway), and after a while felt like I could stop when the summer came (I was traveling, so I needed to stop!) Unfortunately, with the return to work in September (I am a teacher), and its accompanying load of stress, some unpleasant symptoms started bothering me again, so I decided to go back to the herbs. And again, within three days, I could tell the difference! I now sleep soundly, work extremely efficiently, am calmer and more patient, don’t need to eat tons of food and drink water all the time, and the best indication that I am indeed doing better is that I have started to regain my normal weight. I cannot stop the herbs right now, because I am afraid symptoms will return, but the way I see it is that I am giving my body time to regain its balance, and helping it with these herbs. Without them, I would not be able to function, or would have had to turn to western medicine and its long list of debilitating side effects… There are no bad side effects with these herbs! Dr. ErKang is indeed a very knowledgeable acupuncturist and herbalist. I highly recommend that you turn to her if you have a problem.
