Nothing too special about this store, most of the products are made in China and overpriced for that fact but the color patters are pretty interesting. They have an Italian line for Men’s shoes but they just fall short of what you can find in Nordstrom and are in the same price point as well. I have wanted to like this store as they have grown from shoes to clothes but I think they need to focus on quality a little more. The majority of the clothes purchased have not lasted as long as other brands I choose, David Donahue, Nordstrom Brand, Hugo Boss and John V.

At the risk of repeating myself in the review of retail outlets, J&M has a fine product, they don’t carry enough inventory, and the staff’s response is the all too common: we can order it for you, or you can go online and get it yourself. Personally, when I’m looking to buy a few pairs of $ 150-$ 250 shoes, I’m not interested in «doing it myself,» and I sure as heck am not interested in having to send back a bunch of shoes that don’t fit. #iDon’tWorkHere.

You want a great pair of shoes that you can wear dressed up or down? Ones that last? This is the place to go. Johnston & Murphy has an excellent selection of shoes for the man who wants to get a grown up pair of shoes and look good while rocking them. I have been coming to the location for several years at Bellevue Square. Recently, they relocated next to the Apple Store. So, if you haven’t been in a while, don’t trip, they are still there. I went and used some Christmas cards and got some new shoes today. Lily, the associate who helped me out had superior customer service. She takes her time with you and isn’t pushy at all. I would recommend going there and asking for her. She will hook you up.

Despite lifetime warranty on leather products, store would not repair or replace strap on satchel. Reason? Wasn’t bought at a Johnston and Murphy store. It was purchased long before they had a local retail presence, so it’s not like I had a choice. Poor policy, will not purchase their products again — who knows what other catches there are.

Johnston and Murphy shoe store is a must if you want to own a real pair of grown up shoes. It’s also kind of like a place you can go for guy talk. Danny Love, and Peter are good guys. I’ve sat in there and played a game of guess how this celebrity will die. Kinda morbid, but these guys do know their stuff and will go out of their way to take care of you. You should pop in and say hi to these two, you wont be disappointed.

There’s not much I hate more than malls. A close runner up would be the eastside. So what could be worse than Bellevue Square? Try Bellevue Square during the holidays. Fuck! Unfortunately, the only J&M shop in the state is at Bellevue Square so, finding myself on the eastside for reasons I’d rather not go into, I decided to bite the bullet and make a mad dash in Heisman-style. Ugh! After battling the parking garage, all the people wandering aimlessly with no purpose other than to spend money on something they haven’t even thought of yet and just get in my way in the process and surviving a near miss with a ‘plus-plus’ size lady on the escalator I managed to make it into the tiny J&M shop. All of a sudden it was quiet and there was a calm, a lull in the storm. I knew exactly what I wanted and Danny was very helpful in getting me set up. Unfortunately they didn’t have my size and color in stock so he was going to have to order them. Danny must have seen the fear in my eyes at the prospect of having to return; no problem, just ship them to me direct. I was in and out like that; easy, simple, efficient. Johnston & Murphy has some great, super comfortable shoes and other leather goods so it’s worth the battle if you are up to the challenge. Just wish they’d open a store in Seattle.
