H&R Block

We went to our local h&r block prior to tax time, spoke with a wonderful efficient smart lady, completed all the extensive paperwork and was told that we were owed a refund and to submit we should sign in Bellevue as our accountant was going to be out of office. That ended up being super inconvenient, so we called back a few days later and said can we just sign electronically or arrange to sign locally. They couldn’t find our file. No apology, and everyone treated us like there never had been a file, despite extensive correspondence with our previous accountant. Redirected to Bellevue where «John» was to get us back on track: he did not, was the most unhelpful slow not smart (had to repeat information multiple times) accountant (person) we have had the privilege to deal with. I could not recommend H&R Block Bellevue to anyone wanting professional interaction or results.
Lost our file, disinterested in remedying, clueless customer interaction and amateur at best. Oh, when we suggested we would forward the complete correspondence from the last person who had finalized our return John said «We don’t have internet here». Unbelievable. We are starting again elsewhere.

At first things were going smoothly with doing my taxes, but after 25 minutes of tax work they told me AFTER the fact that it was going to cost me $ 215 to process! Are you serious? Aren’t you advertising free taxes until a certain date? Maybe this is something you should discuss if it is not going to be free (mine wasn’t because it wasn’t considered an easy tax return…25 minutes of work wasn’t easy). I was so mad that they wasted my time (and their own!) I asked if I could take my stuff and leave. The lady said yes and sorry to disappoint. She was great (Gwen), but I’ll never go back there. I ended up doing my own taxes online and owed less than I would have going to H&R Block.
