First Appliance Service Team

My washing machine would not drain during the spin cycle, we were in a bind because we had guests coming for the weekend. Though they had no repair person available «Daniel» who answered the telephone at First Appliance Service offered to help me troubleshoot the problem. Over the course of several telephone calls he very patiently and professionally walked me through the steps of diagnosing and then ultimately fixing the problem (clogged pump). Definitely one of the best customer service experiences that I’ve had (way above and beyond what I would have expected)!

I just had my ice maker replaced today and this replacement replaces the one they installed in July 2015. They charged me $ 375 the first time and now charged me $ 307 today. They do not stand behind their work for one year which most companies do. The ice maker stopped working months ago and I decided that I should have it repaired and called them and the woman I spoke to said that most likely the ice maker is fine, it was the installers problem. But he couldn’t fix it and blamed my high water pressure on this problem. My original ice maker that came with my refrigerator lasted 20 years. I think the installer has problems and then passes on his lack of repair expertise to installing new parts because he can’t fix it. I’ll never use them again.

They wouldn’t make the service call to my house, so I had to struggle to take my $ 2000, over 100 pound U-​Line wine cooler to their store. Once I get there I am told there is $ 400 worth of internal damage because the cooler was transported on its back, and even then they won’t guarantee the repair. And even if I choose not to do the repair, I have to pay $ 80 for the diagnosis and it’s worth nothing to them as scrap.
Why didn’t they tell me not to put the refrigerator on its back when I said I was bringing it in? Another employee said they usually do so, but regardless won’t credit me any part of the repair, because it’s «common knowledge.»
How many times does the average person in their life transport a refrigerator?
Why offer to do a $ 400 repair for something they claim is now worthless scrap?
I’m willing to accept partial responsibility and was willing to pay part of the repair, but they are disclaiming all responsibility.
Also the first employee I spoke to was also rude, hung up on me, and never returned any of my phone calls.

We just had the service with First Appliance Service team and we would never recommend their services to anyone.
The service man came in and quickly left, he tried to repair the broken pump with a pump he had with him, but unfortunately he said it didn’t work. He left the top of the washer open, and said he can’t fix it now, until he receives the pump he order from Samsung, he said it may take about a week or so. On top of that, you won’t believe this guy’s bad attitude, it seems like he was working for free. My wife may share some other thoughts. We even offer to help him move our washer, he said he doesn’t move washer, he only repairs them. I asked him if he can rush the order, he said there’s nothing he can do, just wait, that he has been doing this for 30 years. His attitude is super arrogant. And the worst is that he charged $ 450 eventually for fixing a pipe! This is like robbery when we saw the credit card payment charge on this. We are considering going to the court on this.

Very expensive parts, markup was 3 – 4 times more than what SearsDirect and others sell for. I can see making a little on them but this markup has me willing to wait for parts if needed. OEM or not the markup is not customer friendly. $$$$$$ rating.

The customer service representative so was condescending I didn’t hire them.

I had an issue with my Samsung refrigerator that another company tried to fix but actually made even worse. Samsung reassigned the repair to First Appliance, and I’m so glad that they did. Office manager Caroline was a pleasure to work with and was very responsive. Repair man Brandon came out, diagnosed the problem promptly and correctly, ordered the correct parts, and fixed the problem promptly. I was very pleased with the service and result. I only wish that Samsung had assigned the case to them at the outset, as it would’ve literally spared me about five months of hassle and stress.

Brandon diagnosed fixed my Dacor oven efficiently. Daniel ordered the parts to be expedited or the one month warranty wait would have been two months. Job well done even with all the push back Dacor gave them.

I have a GE 42″ Monogram side by side which I described to the person making my appointment. The serviceman arrived and on viewing my refer announced he does not service this type of GE refer and walked out. Four days wasted waiting for the appt. If you decide to use these folks make sure they service the model you have. If your GE is in warranty, call GE service. PS – the van he came in was solid red, not what you see in the web site photos.

My dryer stopped working after making loud thumping noises and so I took it apart and had one broken part and several other parts that looked in poor condition that I wanted to replace. I looked online and found the one part for like $ 80 and the other parts ranging $ 30 – 90. I could only afford the one part with those prices, but because I wanted the dryer fixed faster I thought I would call a local shop and just get the part from them, plus I could get some installation advice at the same time. I called them up and Caroline was able to tell me that the same part was actually made by another for the original company and if you looked up the parts under the actual OEM then the parts were a lot cheaper. So she told me about a kit that had all of the parts that I needed for half the cost of the 1 part priced out online! Awesome service, and cheaper than online because they know their industry well! PLUS it was OEM, fantastic. Thanks guys!

My 12 year old Samsung side by side Refrigerator quit cooling entirely. I am somewhat mechanically adept and was able to determine that the compressor was not running but all other power sources seemed OK. I first considered service but after reading Unilocal about Sears Service (1 star) and finding a more reputable Bellevue firm didn’t service Samsung I decided to see what I could do on my own. A Google search convinced me that the problem was most likely a $ 20 relay which looked much more appetizing than an estimated $ 200-​$ 300 service call. The office mgr, Carline was very helpful in getting the part ordered for next day delivery and called me when it came in. Unfortunately Samsung sent the wrong part. Before re-​ordering the correct part a First Appliance service Technician (Jim or Kim?) took the time to walk through the whole problem to be sure that the compressor was OK and the relay was the only problem. He took maybe 10 – 15 minutes to guide me through exactly how to go home and test the compressor and be sure that wasn’t the issue before buying a non returnable electrical part. I got home, tested as he suggested and everything came back saying compressor «good», relay «bad». They ordered the relay the next morning, Caroline called me at noon that it was in and they even kept the business open late knowing I was due to come by and pick it up. I connected it up last night and Voila!!! Fridge working as good as new and a total spend of about $ 25. Remember this is a service company… rather than walk me through how to fix it myself they easily good have tried to up-​sell me on having their techs come out an do it. I would totally recommend this company based on the stellar service and support I got!

We purchased Samsung refrigerator and have some problems. Samsung out source their service job to First Appliance. We got a call from Caroline from First Appliance and she asked us to send images to them. Second phone call after she saw the images, she still had no clue. We started to ask questions, she interrupted us and told us don’t call her about problems with Samsung product. My husband was driving at the time so the conversation was on blue tooth and all four people in the car heard it. My husband then asked her that why were we even talking? While we were saying we had problems and you were the our source company that’s why we are talking, she then hung up on us. The next day I called back to complain to their manager Kim. Surprisingly she said that it was OK if the customer was yelling and Caroline hung up the phone. I said to her we were not yelling and I asked her to listen to the tape recording of the conversation. She said that there was no recording and Caroline said that we were yelling therefore we were! I was speechless! Of course after Kim «the manager» said that she hung up on me! (Of course she said” have a nice day” the click so it was not an official hung up!
What a scary company to deal with.

Called them to fix my big freezer at home. They arrived immediately and started to check on the freezer.
They noticed that the compressor was not working. So they test it with their device, checked all the possible thing why is functioning part abd they replaced something inside it. I don’t know what it is because I dont have any knowledge about it.
They fixed the fridge and its now Up and running. Kudos to the technicians of First Appliance, great job guys.

Our clothes washing machine had a problem (naturally right after the warranty expired). We obtained the name of First Appliance from the manufacturer’s website and gave them a call. The cost of the repair was pretty consistent with what we were told to expect, and we were very pleased that they were able to come over the morning after we called them.
The technician, Jim, was exceptionally efficient and courteous.
We hope never to have to call them again — well, unless it is for in-​warranty service :) — but this was a good experience for us. I think it helped in our case that we were able to provide a pretty specific description of the problem (a broken part).

I purchased a new clothes washer. After a couple loads, it leaked water all over the floor. Because it damaged the vinyl tile, Samsung handled the servicing, rather than the appliance sales store that had sold it to me. It seems that Samsung uses service techs with poor reputations, including First Appliance and Radio Hart TV & Appliance, but I didn’t know it at the time.
I was contacted by First Appliance to schedule an appointment. I explained that the dryer is stacked on the washer, and they indicated that they’re unable to unstack. WTF? An appliance repair shop that’s unable to unstack units to work on them? I contact the appliance sales store and they schedule a couple guys to do the unstacking, on the morning when First Appliance is supposed to visit. No problem, but then First Appliance doesn’t show up in their scheduled 9am-​12pm window. I call, and they tell me that they canceled the appointment the day before, directly with Samsung and without notifying me, because they’re unable to unstack the units (even though I had told them that I would have the units unstacked before their arrival and the appliance sales store had also confirmed to First Appliance that the units would be unstacked).
Needless to say, it’s probably a good thing that they never made it to my house to «repair» the washer, given my poor experience with their schedulers and the reviews on Unilocal

Just heard from a friend that just had a similar experience to the reviews posted here. Very negative experience. Perhaps this is an industry in need of rehab, or at least the employees. Awful service from a service sector company!

Service tech Jim fixed my mother in-law’s dishwasher and did so in minutes when I tried for hours. After looking into the cost for a new dishwasher we ascertained it would be cheaper to pay for this service. Although the amount of time it takes for experienced techs like Jim is minimal and appears very easy, it is still cheaper to pay the minimum fee than the price of a new appliance. I do not mind paying for experience, punctuality, and professionalism even if the tech is in and out. I highly recommend this company and will always call for Jim.

I just experienced what I consider to be a borderline «bait-​and-​switch» encounter for a minor dishwasher repair. I called *Mountain Appliance* in Issaquah but their phone number rolled over to First Appliance, unbeknownst to me. The lady answering the phone did not make this clear (all I heard was «[something] Appliance» when they picked up). She quoted me an $ 89/​hr rate, saying «there is a minimum».
Next, Jim, the repair person arrives the same day (this is good) — he drives a plain red utility van. From the passenger (left) side there is no FIRST markings; he didn’t disclose his association w/​FIRST until *after* the repair. In all fairness, Jim did a quick & competent job cleaning up catch basin of my DW and installing a new chopper in 20 minutes. I was annoyed, however, when he says that he works *flat* rate per job. Hey, what gives? In the 20 minutes, he spent as much time writing up my detailed invoice as he did working on the dishwasher itself.
I think FIRST was upfront and transparent about who they were, what they do, and how much each service costs, I would have been quite content with Jim’s $ 165 20-​minute repair job. I live on the Eastside and get stuck with Eastside prices all the time. I fault the dispatch lady’s failure to disclose and lack of clear up-​front expectations.
I will keep looking for my next appliance repair or installation! Thumbs down for me.

Like most reviewers here, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I wish I’d seen the Unilocal reviews before reaching out to this company.
My fridge had some issues for which I needed repairs. I called FAST and described the issue. Firstly, they were very rude to talk to. They insisted that the tech would need to come in to diagnose the problem. They also said he’d bring the necessary parts so that the repair could be completed in the first visit if possible.
When the tech arrived, he didn’t really look at anything — he didn’t disassemble the fridge. Based on our description of the problem he said it could be one of three parts (fan, thermostat and one other part). He had none of those parts with him, which was disappointing given that fan and thermostat are pretty basic parts and they’d told us he would carry them. The tech charged us $ 98 for telling us something that they could’ve easily identified on the phone. He then said he’d return with the parts and would charge us only for the part that was actually faulty. Later we got a (rude) call from them saying they’d charge for all three parts.
I have decided to go ahead with another company. Dealing with FAST was a big and costly mistake.

This is my 2^nd time using them, and they were late the first time, and showed up over 30 minutes after the scheduled time (a 4 hour window) He showed up for another unit in our condo, and I thought he was here for my unit to do a recall fix on my dishwasher. Well he forgot the part. I will be rescheduling using another service company. It is unacceptable that they can’t keep appointments, as well as forgetting a part. I had to take time off of work to schedule this service, yet to have it not done is unacceptable.
