Advanced Hair Restoration

Pretty disappointed with my consultation.
I am 35 and am unhappy with my slightly receeding hairline. I am by no means going bald but wanted more info on reshaping my front hairline. That being said, i went in for some more info and met with Al Llop. He was great in giving info about baldness but when i told him that i wanted to lower or reshape my hairline a little he basically refused and told me that i should get the hairmax laserband instead. After reading bad reviews online about the laserband i decided not to buy that.
I understand where Al was saying that i dont need it but really, nobody NEEDS hair, its all a matter of want. I felt like as a consumer, i was refused and now im looking at a few places in b.c. that my friends have had success with.
My eyes weren’t too bad, and I got lasik because it was a long term solution. Same goes for my hairline. I wanted a permanent solution for my hairline and I feel that wasn’t given here. In so-​cal, i wouldn’t have had this problem of finding a place to reshape my hairline.
Seems like this place is great for major jobs, but too bad it didnt work out for me here.

A few years ago I was beginning to look like a 24 year old grandpa. My wife finally convinced me to do something about it. I was nervous about having a procedure but finally decided to try restoring my hairline first. After about a year it grew in and I liked it so much I got another procedure done further back and now I’m satisfied that I look my age. The techs were professional and the doctor was by my side. After many years of suffering and trying to cover up my hair loss I lost hope and spent hundreds on different methods, a buddy of mine that was happy with his procedure told me of advanced hair restoration and I did it and could not be more happy. Having been tired of having someone take a picture of me only to immediately notice my receding hairline. «Who is that? Not me! That guy is bald, fat and looks old» So I bought a Nordic Track treadmill and with the help of the former Dr. Atkins, was able to slim down, a bit of black dye for the beard… hmm, wouldn’t be looking as old looking now… if it wasn’t for the lack of hair which I’ve endured with for 20 years. My ex-​wife who is an R.N. worked for Dr. Bosley and 10 years ago, I went in for a consultation (they have been sending me discount coupons ever since). I could have gotten a pretty good discount but it was still too expensive and I just wasn’t ready. After seeing another dreaded picture of myself last month I searched the web, made some inquiries, checked with my financial adviser (Robert Lo of Stone 8 financial mgmt./ LLP a wonderful financial manager) and decided I could finally afford it. I decided to have my first free consultation with Advanced Hair Restoration (Bellevue) because they had a summer discount price and many of the staff has or maybe still does work for Bosley. After this consultation, I cancelled the others.
I was greeted at the front desk by Yolanda, a tall attractive lady with a happy personable attitude who took me right back to meet with Jerry, a handsome middle aged man who was a true testimony of what hair transplants can do for you since he has been a recipient for many years. He is laid back, informative and expertly answered all of my questions, showed me pictures of himself before his procedure and did not give me a «sales pitch». He told me what they offered at various prices and made a recommendation. I also met Dr. Weiss who performs the hair transplants and I was immediately impressed with his genuinely friendly, happy and upbeat disposition (myself being and Advanced Registered Nurse, I know how unfriendly, arrogant and difficult most surgeons are!). Other staff members all seemed to be in a good mood. Jerry gave me the option of going through one of three companies who will loan a patient the full amount for little or no interest up to 18 months. No need for a sales pitch to me, I gave Yolanda a $ 1,000 deposit and made an appointment for the next day upon my return from a conference in Las Vegas.
While in Vegas, Yolanda called me and gave me precise pre-​operative instructions which was easy to remember. I called the Lending Club and was approved for the full cost of treatment at 0% interest up to 18 months! I got to the office on Monday morning after working the night shift at my hospital and was given orange juice, signed papers, then taken back to the photo shoot room where Yolanda took pre-​op pictures. Shortly, Dr. Weiss came in and with the help of a drafting laser, precisely marked my head drawing where my new hair would be placed and responded favorably to both Yolanda and my feedback. I was then escorted to the surgical suite where I laid back on a comfortable recliner and Dr. Weiss injected me with an analgesic which although I was still awake (I think) even after working all night, I felt no pain or discomfort what so ever while Dr. Weiss removed a strip from the back of my scalp and three surgical technicians dissected it into minute hair grafts while the doc was creating tiny punctures where the new grafts would grow. We broke for lunch where I was provided a Jimmy Johns Subway and drink of my choice. After lunch, the technicians meticulously placed the tiny dissected grafts in their proper places that the doc had created. I was asked many times how I was doing and so far so good but now I was getting a nagging headache where the strip had been removed. When I mentioned it to the technician, she immediately informed Dr. Weiss who came in with some xylocaine and injected the area which alleviated the headache instantly. After all the grafts were placed (I even got extra ones that I was not charged for!) My head was wrapped up and I was given after care instructions and a voucher for free parking.
It was an all-​day practically pain-​less procedure where I was even able to drive home without being the least bit impaired. I even went to work that very night (even though my head was covered) and enjoyed some intimate activities the next day! Three days later, I am still pain free and not taking any of the pain meds that the doc gave me a prescription for. Now, I wish that I had done this years ago but the cost of having a hair transplant has dramatically decreased to the point that many men can now afford this and I don’t think that you will find a finer, friendlier more expert staff then the folks here at this clinic. As a professional Board Certified Registered Nurse, I highly recommend Dr. Barry Weiss, Jerry, Yolanda and the expert technicians at Advanced Hair Restoration of Seattle in Bellevue.

This is a second review to fill in additional details: First, I am a triple board certified physician in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine and I am one of the ²⁄₃ of American men that have Androgenetic Alopecia or common male pattern baldness (MPB). My degree of hair loss was profound with a Norwood classification of VI. Like many others who have hair loss of this degree it was affecting my confidence and quite frankly I was feeling old. I made the decision to get a Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant in 2011 because this type of procedure avoids the large scar in the back of the head like the Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) causes. I researched and interviewed over 30 transplant centers across the USA including all in the Seattle area. I studied their individual success rates, costs, and bedside manner. Since that initial hair transplant in 2011, I underwent additional procedures with Advanced Hair Restoration in 2013 and 2014, and 2015. The results are simply amazing.

when i go to any kinda clinic i would never tell that i have professional medical back ground. i was very aware of what happening around me all the time even with the drugs they gave me. you would think this big fancy tv is for their costumer but apparently its for the techs who never stopped watching and making comments of whatever show was on, they never stopped talking to the point i wish i told them to shut the hell up. youd even see techs using their phone right in front of you. i asked one of them about their experience and the answer was almost a month! this is what i paid more than 10 grants for.

I’ve had two procedures done at this clinic. one was for 1000 grafts which was not enough. After a couple years I came back and got an additional 2000 done in my crown area. They did a great job and I should start seeing my hair grow in soon.
They were very great on customer service. Provided me with a couple of post of free hair cuts. They gave me clear instructions on and all my exceptions were set.
I have recommended two friends to advanced hair seattle and will continue to.

Highly recommend! I started losing my hair in about 2006. Decided to do something about it in 2008 but realized it required a surgery that left a huge scare. in 2011 I found Advanced Hair Restoration in Bellevue. They offered the first no scare procedure that I heard of.
The place is high end and offered the most experienced team of surgeons that I could find. I also went to Medical hair restoration, Bosley and Dr. Goertz, non of them even came close to what these guys offered in service or experience.
The consultation was about 40min long, I meet the doctor, spoke about my history and what I wanted to achieve.
I had my procedure done in 2011 and I loved it. The area where they took the hair from healed quickly and I had no discomfort. I had the front area filled in and it was one of the best things I did for myself in a long time.
In 2013 I had another procedure done to fill in the middle portion of head that was losing hair and it grew in nicely.

I will most likely not proceed with the procedure at your clinic, below are the reasons as to why.
I did not get to meet the dr.
It seems the clinic is focused on volume over quality. A smaller clinic can do a better job for less money. There are excessive employees.
I was told by other drs that the FUE method was not right for me, you said it was not an issue.
I was quoted as needing Nearly 2000 grafts by other offices by doctors who actually touched my head. You quoted me 1200.
1200 would cost me the same as the 2000 elsewhere.
The form asked if I had any other consults and who. Seemed strange and no one else asks.
Your receptionist sounded like she was selling stocks to the guy over the phone. Kept telling him he wanted the FUE that he didn’t want the scar. All I wondered was how much was she costing per year and how much of of transplant was needed to pay her for this. Service should sell itself.
I wasn’t really shown a lot of patient photos, I shouldn’t have to ask.
At the end when I didn’t have any questions, instead of offering anything or saying anything the silence was deafening. I just felt like another number walking through the room.
I spent the entire appointment with candy wrappers from your front desk in my hand. There was no wastebin and no one offered to take them. I had to ask at the end and the lady gave me a funny look.
It’s great for you if you can make money off all this impersonal service but it is not where I will choose to spend my money.
At the very least I don’t even really feel like a valued potential customer. I felt like all my money would go to your office rent, iPads and excessive staff so that dr Weiss can probably make more money than god it not make much of a connection with his patients.
At the end of the day I need a skilled surgeon and not a bunch of gadgets. I don’t get he chance to meet the surgeon so that might be something to consider because you just lost $ 10,000.
I will be booking my appointment with one of the precious consults that I felt did a much better job at valuing their patients by meeting them.
