Took the Veteran CCW class over the weekend. Mike Hale did a great job the entire day keeping the class interesting and informative. Shared plenty of real life situations to bring home the lessons and lead to a different perspective. Veteran or not I highly recommend Metro and Mike for CCW. As far as the gun shop, the guys I’ve talked to when I’ve been in are very helpful and polite with their opinions. I’ve not purchased firearms there but my brother has made several purchases and has had good experiences. Checking out the prices they are a little high. That said I look at it this way… if you are not educated in firearms, paying a little more for a gun and getting a ton of good advice could sooner than later save you a trip to an emergency room or worse yet, a funeral. Both are WAY more expensive. You do get a free membership with purchase!(nothing is free…) If you are a decently educated about firearms, do your homework, and a thrifty consumer you can find things a little less but don’t expect the advice to come with it.(it doesn’t) Shoot to stop the threat Shoot as a last resort Live as if you are not carrying a firearm Thanks again Mike

I went today to shoot my own, 45cal Kimber and rent two other guns. No problems using my own ammo. Their ammo for the two rented guns was expensive and expected. I guy that helped me was very nice and willing to share knowledge.

This place used to be fun to go to, but it has really gone down hill. The staff is very rude, and seems like they go out of their way to get under your skin. They get all bent out of shape if you bring your own ammo, and dont even think about bringing reloads! I find it odd they dont want reloads shot in their range, but they sell reloading supplies. On our last and final trip there my buddy bought their high priced ammo went out in the range and shot it, when we were cleaning up all of our spent brass we were putting it in our range bags to take home since we both reload. A staff member comes out and says we cant take the brass home, it has to be turned in there. We BOUGHT the ammo from them, and they said we couldn’t take the casings home. My guess is they want all the brass they can get so they can sort it and sell it for reloaders.(even though they dont want reloads brought there) That did it for me. I have not been back since. After talking with several friends about the place, they too have had similar experiences and will not be going back. There are many other ranges in the area that are much more friendlier.

From my personal experience the people here are very nice and respectful, they have plenty of experience and very helpful. Their classes are extremely insightful. From the purchase, range time and class I have had nothing but great service and friendly assistance. I think anyone should go buy a few times to look or shoot and see how great these people can be.

This place has really gone down in my opinion. They have got a lot of he man douche bags working behind the counter. And one old bastard that confuses weapon technical details with information that would guide purchasing decisions. The last time I was there a woman who was newer to the shooting sports had her gun jam with the shell sideways. The old bastard came in grabbed the gun out of her hand while we were trying to help her. He says, «this could explode in your hand, or discharge you have to be careful». Then after examining the pistol he asks where is the clip. My friend had already removed it was safely placed in his back pocket. My friend even offered, «we already cleared the barrel of the round so no one would ‘poke their eye out’» apparently our humor was lost on the old bastard. I forgot to mention that my friend was a range master and a gunnery Sargent in the marines. He puts a 40 round clip in his beretta and does some rapid fire exercises. This time a bone head off duty revenue collector(cop) comes back to harass us. How did we know he is a cop. It’s kind of like cross fit people. They brag about it. At least the reflexive grab for the bribe, Errr free donut was, muted in this phenotype. Although I did notice that he never closed his mouth. He said their was no rapid fire in the range, and no high capacity clips. I asked where is the sign? Where is it in the rules you sign when you join. They were not in the one page form I signed over a year ago. Here is where Mr. revenue collector said we could be asked to leave for trespassing. I failed to mention to the mouth breather that we joined a group and did not violate any of the terms of the agreement. while I am not a lawyer I think a membership confers an invitation by attend. So if you are looking for a professional range keep looking these asshats are far from it.

It was fun experience. I needed to practice my shooting skills so decided to try this place out since it was right down the road. very friendly staff. Jason was answering all of my questions and very weapons seemed alittle pricey but with all the information and the advice i think it’s worth it. range itself was kinda dark far out and the ear protection was too big for me that it was kicked to the back whenever i fired.lol.overall it was a good experience and will definitely go back again.

Let’s go over the good first. They have a very good selection of handguns, and well laid out on the cases so you don’t have to search too hard to find what you’re trying to locate. They have a pretty extensive collection of rental guns, and are fairly good at giving you an alternative to something they may not have, but they have a lot. They have an indoor firing range on metro east side. The staff is pretty friendly, and rather knowledgeable. Mike is one of the most helpful and honest sales people I have met. Now the bad. The place is pretty disgusting, I want to use hand sanitizer every time I leave. I know they have a lot in stock, but the place could use a serious cleaning. When going into the range, they give you a coffee can to pick up your shell casings, when they should just have brooms to sweep them onto the range, especially for the price you pay. When I say the staff is pretty friendly, and rather knowledgeable, that goes for everybody who isn’t one dude. I have no need nor desire to name him in this review, the moment you meet him you’ll know. He’s massively arrogant, criticizing, and frankly lies over small things that you can find by googling on your cell phone before you even get to your car. Also I tend to find the prices higher than most, more than likely because there is no competition in that area. That being said, it’s not a bad place. Bring your hand sanitizer, and once you meet and avoid Capt. Arrogant, you’ll be fine.

After hearing mixed opinions about this place and their employees I went in expecting rude, arrogant and unfriendly employees. Let me dispel your fears. I have only been here a few times but EVERYONE I have spoken to here has been extremely friendly and helpful. I honestly couldn’t ask for the employees to be more helpful or nice. The range wasn’t top of the line by any means but it does what it’s supposed to do. The building is old after all. For non-members it costs $ 18.00 an hour to shoot and a bit extra for the target(s) you must rent. Handgun rental for non-members is $ 10.00 and ammo for rental guns MUST be bought here. Any(new?) gun purchased gives you a free year membership for the range. I don’t have anything bad to say about this place. Go shoot and see for yourself!

Best experience I’ve had shopping for anything. Went in on 4÷19÷13 with my wife to get a handgun. They took a lot of time explaining to her everything about the guns they recommended and why they recommended those guns. They got us set up with everything we needed and made us feel real good about the purchase. This is my new permanent gun shop. Thanks

Unfriendly staff that is arrogant and does not know anything about anything but selling their overpriced guns. They will sell you what they have at a high price and will not help you in anyway to purchase anything else. The owner, a big fat guy, thinks he knows everything. They will charge you $ 18 an hour, even if you only spend 3 minutes in the range watching someone shoot. Do not visit this place ever!
