We specialize in salsa lessons, and can provide merengue/bachata services as well. We are New Jersey’s #1 salsa studio for New York style salsa on2. We are also New Jersey’s only «Eddie Torres» certified salsa academy, and the only New Jersey instructors to compete in a world salsa competition and ranked 4th at a world level. We can assist you in all areas of your salsa training, whether its beginner level to advanced or even performing on stage! Salsa lessons are a great way to lose weight, meet new friends and have a new hobby to release stress. Come visit our 3,000 sq ft facility with central AC, huge dance space, his/hers bathrooms and private parking. Lessons are only $ 15, no contracts, no registration fees!
We are also available for sweet 16 choreography’s and wedding choreography’s. Private lessons are available.
History
Established in 2009.
Marcus Nieves founded MDN Latin Dance Studio in 2009, after moving from is previous location after 6 years of business. His passion for dancing was intrigued by the various turn patterns and energy the local dancers displayed on the dance floor. Marcus Nieves, began dancing in 1998, taking dance lessons with Kenny Lopez, and continuing his training with world renowned instructors, Luis Zegarra & Nelson Flores. In 2003 he toured around the world with the Salsa On2 pioneer himself, Eddie Torres, later becoming «Eddie Torres Certified.» With years of performance experience, and training with the very best, Marcus took a leap of faith and formed a company of his own, Studio. Marcus realized he had a unique ability to touch other people’s lives through the teaching of dance and set out to make a difference. With the support of loyal students and friends, MDN Latin Dance Studio continues to be a welcoming, healthy, inspiring, value oriented place for hundreds of student each year.

Marcus Nieves started dancing in 1998 while out clubbing in one of New Jersey’s hot spots at the time, «Foxes». He was intrigued by the various turn patterns and energy that the local dancers displayed on the dance floor. That sparked his interest in Salsa and he began taking dance lessons with Kenny Lopez. In 1999 Marcus was approached by Luis Zegarra to take part in his dance company «Fuerza Latina.» There he gained most of his experience as a salsero, performing in many events around the tri-state area, which provided him the exposure he needed to be recognized in the dance scene. In 2000, Marcus began dancing under Nelson Flores and his dance team «Descarga Latina,» which opened the opportunity for him to take part in the off-Broadway show «Latin Madness». In late 2002 Marcus worked as one of the «Copa Boys» for the world famous «Copacabana» and in 2003 he fulfilled his dancing goal of becoming a member of the «Eddie Torres Dance Company» for which he dance and toured around the wo
