Faith Baptist Church

If you are looking for Bible Church with lots of rules and regulations then this is the perfect church for you. When I visited Faith Baptist Church of Belleville Illionois, it was tiny with less than 100 in attendance. I remember when they were excited at 50 in attendance then 75 then 100! Those were the exciting days when the church moved from church in a basement to an abandoned storefront. At that time, the downtown area of Belleville was dying a slow painful Death by Shopping Mall that had newly opened in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Pastor Baker had a desire to acquire the movie theater next door. According to their webpage — they did!
Why did they need all that space?
The kids — lots and lots of kids. He knew that one day all those kids would become adults and those kids who came up through the ranks would one day become adult members.
The military — lots and lots of military. The military base nearby was familiar with lots of rules, regulations, and strict chain of command which is what you will find at Faith Baptist Church of Belleville Illinois where men are men, women are women, and marriage is between «Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve» — a direct quote.
Women are expected to wear skirts or dresses then there are further restrictions much like the Dugger Family on TVs 19 kids and counting. As usual men have it easier.
When I was there — the church was multicultural but strictly divided by race. I am unsure if it is more relaxed but to me it remains unfair for mixed race adults to be kicked out of humanity by their Anglo American brethern — but I stray into negativity here. I think Jesus of Nazareth traveling in disguise would be welcomed into the church. He would learn strict Bible teachings and if he grew to thinking independently — he would be okay as long as he did not try a church takeover — big mistake in that church which is mostly family owned and operated.
Their official webpage shows no women except on the banner– but women run the show. Be careful who you talk to there — the women who are there all the time tend to gossip the most and are the most judgemental down to your very salvastion if you do not meet their dress code which varies by individual woman who thinks she dresses the most holier than thou.
Now read this: Some of the most kind women and truly Holy Spirit seeking men — and solid Bible teaching are at Faith Baptist Church in Belleville Illinois. If the church is too strict for your taste — consider it bitter medicine that heals.
Many sermons are online so you can get a taste before you attend. I owe Faith Baptist Church many thanks and warmest regards for its compassion, education, and dedication to constant improvement.
Let me tell you Unilocalers — a pastor who accepted a fulltime ministry at Faith Baptist Church almost 30 years ago who will also clean the toilets at the church is a special person. Today you will see a beautiful renovated church but I remember when it was not so pretty and the struggles were seemingly unsurmountable. This pastor earned his way into a great salary and large congregation of many more than 200. His teaching is solid though difficult to swallow.
If the pastor had done anything unforgivable — I would Unilocal about it. He has a large family and was married a very long time to one wife so he has wisdom to go along with the preaching. There are younger men and women helping him so I suspect the church will keep going. I was told that he came in to pastor when the former pastor ran off with the church secretary — yes those things really do happen in the strictest churches.
If you follow the dress code and do not tell your personal business, you will do fine and you might actually find out that its — well — a fun church.
To my knowledge — they have greatly improved their children’s ministry.

How could I forget = They preach a lot on tithing and giving — but to my knowledge — they do good things with the money. If you wonder why the pastor gets paid so much — His family sufferedts to get the church thriving instead of crying. Helabored long and hard to stablilize the church and encourage its members. His family suffered through the hard timeThey have regular open meetings where you can go and see where the money is going — good transparency. Fath Baptist Church of Belleville Illinois is a New Testament church thriving in high tech Applewatch times.
