Dyed my hair perfectly when I went in for red. They also do really good blowouts and cuts. Unfortunately when I went in for a lighter caramel brown from my dark brown hair they turned it orange. Told me I needed to come in again for a second lightening session and it was even more orange and charged me $ 300 each time. I went to Sally’s and did my hair myself and it came out the exact color I wanted. Not a place to go if you want light hair but anything else they’re pretty good at. Pretty overpriced though.

This was my 3^rd time and I am never going back to that place. I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and wanted to look nice. I went in today to get my hair dyed black and for a hair cut. Maria dyed my hair brown, dark brown, not what I wanted. When I said to her «my hair looks brown not black». She said «black is too harsh and don’t want black. Really lady thats why I came to you so you can dye my hair dark brown. She also cut my hair in a half ass way with shears instead of scissors. (Posting pics) Avoid this place if you are not senile or blind. She also charged me full price 40+45+ tip 10+5= $ 110 for getting things done to me I didn’t want. I am posting pics judge for yourself.
I am so upset. I can’t dye my hair a color I wanted before my vacation. Wtf is wrong with people. If I tell you I want my hair blue then dye it BLUE, and if it is less than blue don’t tell me I didn’t want it.

It is sad that as an owner Maria continues to fight with clients and discredit their reviews. You should be learning from them as clearly customers are all saying the same thing. Yes Maria. I was in YOUR salon. Same address. Same staff. And same owner, you.
I refuse to return to this establishment (I care about my hair), but I do own a business about a mile away and have had customers tell me nightmare stories. I wish I could recommend clients to local businesses as it would benefit the entire community but your attitude and lack of professionalism make this impossible.
Please listen and value your customers. Changes always need to be made

Okay. So I’ve been back at least three more times and left very happy with Dora’s service. She’s friendly and great with color and cuts. I think I’ve found my stylist!
Four stars because I make appointments but always have to wait. It’s fine. I would let want anyone to rush to finish my hair to make another appointment. Just an FYI for future customers…
Also ask for pricing and what is going to be done because it can get expensive if you’re not paying attention.

I am baffled by the positive reviews of this salon. I got fooled/​ripped off/​and a horrible horrible haircut! I specifically showed the hairdresser (Gina) a photo of what I wanted (a shoulder length layered bob) and she gave me a choppy inconsistent length horrible cut which I have to mask for about five months until it grows to a reasonable length again. STAY BACK PEOPLE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PRECIOUS HAIR!

I am very cautious when choosing a Salon as I’ve had some real nightmarish experiences. I decided to give Touch of class a try because I had an important event to attend and my hair was in dire need of a pick me up. Staci and Maria consulted with me about my hair and gave me their professional advice about which color base and highlights I should go with. I wanted something different and fun. I was very pleased with my hair that first visit and I have been coming back ever since. I really love my girl Anastasia’s (Staci) work, she’s very, very good. Maria is also very good, she really knows her stuff, I don’t know what the problem was with the people who left negative remarks about her but from what I’ve come to know of her she’s always working hard making sure that everything runs smoothly in her shop and keeping her customers happy. As far as pricing goes, T.O.C. is pretty much consistent with other salons of its caliber. Good service isn’t cheap and you get what you pay for. I’m very happy that I found a home for my haircare, I had been looking for a good stylist for a while and finally found someone that I clicked with! Thank you Staci and Maria!

I am so disappointed the last few times I visited I was told my appointment was delayed quite some time. Worst of all when I asked for a hair style my stylist told me «we won’t do it today». All I can say is ciao so long!

I use to love going to this place all the time, loved every one there, lately I had experience of getting my hair cut done from the owner Maria, she was least concerned about my hair, her eyes were every where except my hair, 1 sec she would run back to tell the other hair dressers what color to put in the lady sitting in the back, other second she would turn around and cut the hair of another lady sitting in the back, then my hair for 3 seconds and there u go again she would go here and there, result. My hair is a complete mess. Am not going there again. Am heart broken to see my hair :((

My children and I had been customers of this salon ever since they were in their small location across the gas station. My daughter and I stopped seeing our favorite hairstylist, Dora, for years. As growing up, my daughter had inclination, been passionate in hair coloring and hair styling that she does it in years for me and herself. My son continues to come but see different stylist, whoever is available, on his convenient time to visit. And then, my daughter moved out of the house and it become difficult for her to find time and do my hair. I decided to go back, made an appointment and thank God, it was Dora by chance who was assigned to me when I walked in.
The moment I saw her, I feel at home. We catch up some news while doing business. It took us 3 hours for a complete do over. She asked from the beginning what I want to happen and suggested some things along the way. The end result is fabulous. She did a marvelous job.
The location is spacious, maintained, decorated with classiness– a wow for a salon. There are various merchandise for sale in stock aside from hair products, like bags, jewelries, clothing, etc.
Although she did a wonderful job to my hair, from hair coloring to treatment to trimming, I find that it is a little pricy as compared to other salon. Is it because they are using better hair products than others? Or is it because they have experienced staff? Or because they have a high maintainable house ?
Anyway, the rest of the crew are great. They compliment each other, are showing and exchanging tips and very friendly to the customers.
Definitely coming back. I suggest if you will visit, to ask first for the whole process before proceeding. Better ask for the pricing so there will be no surprises at the end.

In response to Maria’s reply to my post: You seem to think that I never made your staff aware that I was ready to get my hair done after my nails. I was done with my nails, at which point my hair was then washed. The washer directed me from the washing area to a salon seat to continue my hair service so there should have been no confusion with whether I was done with my nails and ready for my hair service. As noted, the staff that recognized me continued to acknowledge my presence but never inquire about my waiting so there was lack of communication as a team to ensure adequate customer service. Again, you continue to turn this situation around and blame the customer for not speaking up in order to receive adequate customer service. I wish you the best.

Reluctantly went here last night last minute. Gina took me even though I needed the works and they were closing. Awesome job! I felt listened to, accommodated, and in trustworthy hands. Reasonably priced as well. I’ll definitely return.

I walked in and was greeted by Maria, the owner for what I expected to be a relaxed stress-​free afternoon at the salon. I have two children under 2 and really needed the TLC time for myself. I needed light highlights, a haircut and to really lighten my black hair to light brown for a new summer look. She analyzed my hair, said I had great hair and lots of it so the hair color and highlights would be 100 if I only wanted the top done, 150 if I wanted the whole head. I went with the more expensive option, convincing myself I deserved it. Little did I know, once the woman (not Maria) was halfway through the process she all of a sudden said I needed one extra step in order for the highlights to look good — since I was going from black to really light brown for highlights/​color. Unbeknownst to me, this step (which I couldn’t just say NO to bc I was in the chair with aluminium foil all over my head and apparently halfway through) was going to cost me an extra 50 dollars. So now, I’m forcefully at 200 dollars…
Then I was on to the $ 40 haircut (I wanted half an inch off my ends), as I waited I watched employees eat their homemade lunch and pile up Tupperware near where I was. When it was finally all said and done, the woman asked me if I wanted her to dry my hair for an extra 30 dollars. I said HELL NO — that wouldve brought my tab up to $ 270 — and I walked over to the front to pay for the whole thing (which I couldn’t tell if it looked good or bad because I would’ve had to pay to dry my hair to see it – ridiculous). $ 240 tab plus tip and I had to walk out with my hair wet. What the hell?
I held the urge to tell Maria how unprofessional it is to quote a client 150 then make it a forceful decision to raise the price by 50 dollars without WARNING the client this was a possibility from the get-​go. What if I didn’t have more money and 150+tip was all I had? What would I do then? Leave with halfway done color and aluminum foil in my hair? Ugh.
When I got home, everyone said they couldnt tell what I had gotten done at the salon. This place is a short walk from my house and definitely the easiest time-​saving option for me, but I will NEVER EVER go back. EVER.

Never trust a salon that sells fake Louis and calls itself a touch of class. The irony.
The workers seem to find better things to do instead of attending to you during your appointment (for example, rearranging said Louis on display). When they do realize you’re the client and they start working on your hair, they don’t listen to any requests. Don’t bother explaining what you want done, they know better. I have nothing good to say about this place. Avoid it.

In the salon I heard many nasty statements about Maria which I believe is the owner. Reading the Unilocal comments its sad to see Maria snapping back and not taking the feedback of previous COSTUMERS to better her salon ! No, maria we are not coming back, ever

Call to make an appt. I was quoted $ 42 for a cut and blow dry. I looked at their website it said $ 30 for wash, cut and blow dry. I call back to ask why I was being charge so much, someone picked up the phone no hello and continue speaking on the other line. I could hear the entire convo. For about 3mins. Finally spoke to recep. She ask Maria and ofcourse Maria said the cut and blow dry will be between $ 35 & $ 45 ofcourse they are going to charge me $ 45 when I get there. I just cancel my appt. and they didn’t seem to care that they are loosing business. I did mention my hair was slightly below my shoulder and they ran with that. If you check their website it says longer and thinker hair thet charge more. But what defines longer hair!

Been going to touch of class for years! They always do an amazing job on my hair and receive tons of compliments. I always like to change styles and every time they do exactly what I want and get it right! Maria and staff are always so professional and accommodating I have recommended anyone I can that asks me where I go. I have also gone to them for special occasion updos and makeup and loved it! Thank you!

I had initially gone to the wrong touch of class and was a few minutes late for my appt but they were very nice about it. I was greeted by Maria, the owner, who was very friendly– she offered coffee and cake, and had me feeling comfortable right away. The salon was very busy for so early in the morning, I came in for a shampoo and blowout with Dora. She did a beautiful job with my hair and exceeded my expectations.

I’ve been going to this salon since I was eight years old. Now I’m 22, and the only reason I still make appointments here is out of convenience and habit. Randi, Dora, and Maria are wonderful, and actually listen to what you want to get done. Unfortunately, their schedules can’t always accommodate mine, so I’ve had some pretty bad experiences here in the past with the other hair stylists. I once asked for a trim, making it clear that I wanted to keep the same shape and did not want more than an inch or two taken off from my length. What did the woman do? She chopped off at least four inches and gave me layers when I didn’t ask for them. Thankfully, she doesn’t work here anymore.
I’ve had highlights done a few times, too, but the quality has never been consistent. Sometimes, they come out great. But then there will be other times when they come out really uneven and I’m asked to come back to correct it another day. Why should I pay full price for a mistake that was made, only to come back and pay even more money to fix it? Furthermore, I’ve never had a good blowout here. Different hair textures can’t all be treated in the same, default way. A little more training for their junior stylists in regards to handling different kinds of ethnic hair would be incredibly useful.
My largest criticism of this establishment, though, is that their approach to styling/​cutting/​coloring hair is too traditional and a bit outdated — perhaps because the majority of their customers are older women. But ever since they expanded their location, this place has so much more potential. I think it would be lucrative for them to invest in updating their books and requiring their stylists to keep up with more modern looks. Otherwise, there isn’t much that differentiates them from other, similar, competing salons.

This is a very nice looking salon, the staff is friendly and it seems like a cozy family friendly environment. I got a nice haircut from Stephen, I have medium length curly hair and have issues finding a salon that can give me the cut I want at a reasonable price so I’m glad I found a good place very close to home. Styling job wasn’t the greatest –but I often find that with my hair even at expensive salons, unless I get a straight blow out, I end up styling it myself at home. I was in and out in a half hour, so if you want a quick nice haircut, I highly recommend this place.

My husband got his hair cut here recently and it was a positive experience. Took him right away and did a nice job. The hair stylist was friendly, but the woman at the desk was in a bad mood– maybe it was a bad day.
Guy’s cut was $ 15, and about 20 minutes– that’s doable.

Everyone there is very friendly and professional. When you walk thru the door you are always greeted with a smile. The service is great, the location is beautiful, and prices are reasonable. Love being able to do my hair and nails at one location.
They have a great team of stylists … everyone does great work. My personal favorite is Randi. She’s awesome with coloring, cutting and styling. She also does a great blowout!
I always get compliments on my hair and very eagerly refer my clients to Touch of Class.

I have had my hair done in several places in Queens and Long Island over the years. This has been my choice of hair salon for at least two years now. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. Randi is my stylist and she is the BEST! Not only does she do an awesome job on cuts and styling but her knowledge and experience in coloring is her best quality. Since I have started going here, Randi convinced me to try a new red color and I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair in my life! At least 3 times, complete strangers have walked up to me to ask me who does my hair. I actually carry Randi’s business card in my purse so that when people compliment me, I can hand out her card to them.
I have read some of the complaints about the cost of this salon and I am astounded! This salon is VERY reasonable. Have these people ever gotten their hair cut in one of the Manhattan or Long Island salons? You pay three times the price in some of these other places and you won’t get as good of a job. Do your homework people and you will see that you will get more «bang for your buck» (pardon the hair pun!) at A Touch of Class. I am a person who takes great care and pride in my look, especially with my hair, and I can tell you that this place is one of the best technically and price wise.

Will never visit this establishment again. I have been getting my hair done there for years. Since opening their new location they seemed to have changed. They actually had the nerve to call my house after getting my hair done to tell me they charged me five dollars less (I paid the same price I paid today three weeks ago). I asked did the price go up? No we made a mistake I was told. Really? You call my house to tell me we want you to know for the next time you come in… guess what? There won’t be a next time! Five dollars? If you are that hard up for five dollars that you call someone at their home to inform them of «your» mistake… you are pretty pathetic!
