Tandoor Indian Restaurant & Bar

No longer a bar. Food was okay. Not the greatest,
Tandoori chicken was good, lollipop chicken was great and the naan was just playing out AWSOME.

My fiancé took me here late one night because they were the only ones open around the area we were at. Bravo to keeping it open even for us (since we were the last ones to walk in). The ambiance itself for the place it’s okay. Nothing out of the ordinary and a little dull for my taste. I have been to plenty of other Indian restaurants better designed.
The service was normal, nothing outstanding either. Maybe it was because they were ready to clean up soon. Regardless, a customer is a customer and one should always treat even the latest of customers well. Never know when you will get a heavy tip (which we tend to do a lot).
Food was alright. It didn’t wow me. Typically Indian food you can make at home. Usually a restaurant has a wow factor that you cannot duplicate. I suppose since there are so many place in New York with the same theme of food, it’s hard to make your own. I’m also very picky with Indian food as I am Indian as well. Not a bad place to stop in for a casual dinner. But if you want to impress a date, go elsewhere.

The food taste good but I feel they can increase the quantity a bit. The service was good. I went there really late night like 11:30 pm on a Sunday. I was happy that they were still open. This place has gotten better than before. The food was ok. Kind of bland even though I told them spicy. The garlic naan were really fresh and tasty. The butter chicken was ok not bad. The daal is also ok not bad. It’s a medium restaurant. Not the best but ok not bad. I really like the lady there she served us well. Good family environment.

This hidden gem opened up in my old neighborhood in Queens Village, upon visiting the area i totally walked by this restaurant and decided to go in and try the food. Best decision of the day.
If you are in the mood for actual Authentic, not too pricey Indian food, this is the place to be!
I ordered; Samosa Chaat, Gobi Manchurian (My fav), Samosas (OFCOURSE) and Bhindi Masala and Butter Naan.
This is the best Butter naan and Bhindi Masala i had ever, being a vegetarian i am soooo picky.
I must visit again when i am in New York.

The smell of curry walking down 222^nd St and the chrome railings in the front of homes says it all, Indian influence is sweeping Queens Village. It only seems fitting that there’s bound to be something delicious lurking close to my rented sun-​porch on 93^rd Ave. Enter Tandoor Indian Restaurant & Bar.
Ignorant moment: When I walked in two gentlemen were standing at the bar and greeted me. I asked if I could sit anywhere and they said «no, take out only»… long story short… they were customers waiting to pick up food and were pulling my leg because I thought they were working there. Me? (Embarrassed)
Do NOT be deterred by the cheese-​ily glitzy feel of this place. The inside might make you feel like you’re in a mall, but the food (know some of you might be shocked by this, since I’m not giving them 1 star for whatever décor) is the real deal.
How about a typical classic? Chicken Vindaloo… thick, creamy, intense, and very, very nice kick (as requested). The swirling of flavors were all too familiar, but why was this better than any other Indian food that I’ve had? The chicken was tender and moist. It was not stringy or dull in the flavor sector. Panna II, I scoff at your romantic chili christmas lights now.
I had some weird chicken dish, that tasted rather Chinese-​ish, without the gooey sweet and sour sauce. It was freaking delicious and it was hard to only eat 6 of those huge chunks.
There was this awesome lamb dish, I forgot the name of it, that was aromatic and just nestled itself into your palette to let the flavor dance Rick James style all over your tongue… It was awesome «bitches».
The FREAKING SHESH PANEER was so good it made me blush. If John Stamos and Ravi Shankar had a baby, it would be this shesh paneer. It was gritty and highly rugged in some places. Yet, sweet and sincere in others.
Queens Village is moving on up! The Indian seen will only get better around the area and I’ll be there happily munching along.
