This is one of the few remaining local non-chain hardware stores around, and they actually sell things that are not made in China. Yes, shocking I know. I purchased my lawn tractor, chainsaw, tree saw, snowblower, etc from this place, and they do sell quality products backed up with good service. I’ll tell you up front that one of the big orange box stores is cheaper, but I have had it with buying hardware products that don’t last because they are made as cheaply as possible in the land of The People’s Liberation Army. So you may pay a bit more here but it’s probably going to be better quality and it will be backed up with good(if pricey) service. The owners and service people know the merchandise they sell and will give you good advice along the way. I just wish the floors were squeaky old bare wood, like the hardware stores I remember as a kid.

I am a HUGE fan of this place. The stuff here is of much better quality than ANY big box store and is at the top of my list for local hardware stores. They run sales from time to time and it’s a great way to stock up on lag bolts, bolts, whatever. Being a car guy, I’ll need odd stuff like Grade 8 bolts, ¼″ NPT brass fittings for vacuum lines, etc. Whatever you need for the house, they have. PLUS, despite being fearlessly stupid in fixing anything that breaks, I just can’t get the nomenclature down. So I walk in with a fitting and tell them«I need to go from THIS to 2 ½» PVC” and they spend the time to talk to me, maybe suggest something better/cheaper/faster and just pull it off the shelf. They look like they can work on/know about just about any piece of farm equipment and that experience is really helpful for someone fiddling with big block chevys. Finally, while they sound like all serious, you can feel very comfortable walking in there with any naïve question and they’ll help you out. Great place. Not many left.

They’ve been servicing my tractor for years and are very reliable, good people. They also have a lot of good hardware stuffed into a relatively small shop(compared to big box hardware stores).

I bought a John Deere 135 model lawn tractor from these guys and was very happy with the service. Very easy to deal with and the owner gave me some good pointers on which accessories were worth buying — such as get the chains not the weights. Truth is I should have purchased another riding mower years ago. I am very happy with the purchase and hope that the snow blade does a good job this Winter. My neighbor bought a John Deere a couple of years ago from these same people and he also is a big fan.
