Gorditas

Came here for the first time. Was looking for a place to eat good menudo. Well must say found a new place! Soon as we walked in we were welcomed with a greeting and a smile! We got helped right aways and our food came out on time. The food is delicious and make fresh. Will most definitely come back. Thank you!

Went this morning with my wife. We both tried the menudo. The menudo was good, had good flavor and they had all the condiments right there at the table. We had great service and well be going back to try the gorditas.

Delicious! I felt like I was in my momma’s kitchen. If you want «real» «authentic» mexican food, this is got to be the place. Carmen (owner) and her son Jesus greeted me as I walked in and gently made some suggestions. I already knew what I wanted; Quesadilla de chorizo. It was super cheesy (just the way I like it) served with a side of shredded lettuce con creama. Carmen threw in a small bowl of Pozole (the special of the day). Most restaurants only serve that on the weekends so it was a nice treat. It was a pleasure to dine at this small family owned restaurant. Do NOT let the environment scare you away. They have a humble menu and the décor needs some work but from my conversation with Jesus, that’s coming soon. Try the food! You won’t be disappointed. :)

Had a slight hangover and needed some menudo ASAP! This was my first time eating here and maaaaan this place is awesome! If you love traditional delicious Mexican food this is the place for you! We ordered the Menudo, chilaquiles con salsa roja, quesadilla de chicharrón, as I took the first bite I knew this place was the real deal. The menudo comes with tortillas hechas a mano. I already made plans to bring some of my family here for breakfast tomorrow. If I hadn’t been so full I would have ordered a gordita, can’t wait to try one tomorrow! The service was great too, it’s a little family owned restaurant so everyone is really hospitable. This will definitely be my go to place when I’m craving some authentic Mexican food, I was very impressed.

Talk about hidden gem. This amazing little establishment is one of a kind. The service was very personal and the food felt home made. I tried the chicharon gordita it was my absolute favorite, it was made with gorditas hechas a mano, the tostada de tinga was also great. I definitely will be coming back soon.

Service: The service here is impeccable! It is a hole-​in-​the wall place but very clean and inviting. I walked in and was greeted immediately and placed my order at the counter which I thought was protocol since it was so small… nope you sit down and order. The menu is on the wall and the staff explained the menu to me, probably thought I needed it since I’m white, a little girl even showed me a picture of a gordita on her phone… ha ha.
Food: The food was delicious and brought out quickly. I sampled three different gorditas which were amazing.
Parking: it’s pretty tight, I have a truck and could barely squeeze in.
Overall: I’d come back the food and service were fantastic and prices were reasonable.

There are many things I love about this place. The service, food and atmosphere. Let’s start with the service they are amazing always polite and will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied, they get really busy so prepare to wait. If you want to avoid the wait call in your order. Food I have had menudo, Pozole, gorditas, tacos and enchiladas they have all been amazingly delicious.

This place was ok. Not 5 stars. Those gorditas were ok not worth the 20 minute wait.

For almost $ 6 a piece, I was expecting more than one tacos work of meat in my quesadilla. The chilaquiles were super yummy thought!

Fresh and delicious… Food takes a while as everything is made to order… doesn’t get much better…

Found these guys on Unilocal,read the really good reviews so we decided to try them out. It’s a really small spot, but the food is amazing. I had the tostadas de Tinga and they did not disappoint. My 4 year old is a picky eater and even she enjoyed her food, which were the quesadillas the Asada. We went on a Wednesday afternoon so they weren’t busy at all, but the cook, and the young guy behind the counter were super nice and very attentive, hospitable is the perfect word to describe them. The cook, I think is also the owner did say they get busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, so there may be long wait times then. Try them out, you won’t be disappointed.

Super good!!! They made all the salsas in house and the spiciest one is actually spicy! Got the flor de calabaza quesadilla and the quatro frutas aguas frescas. Tried my friends queso con rajas gordita. Highly recommend it all! A ton of vegetarian options as well! Can’t wait to go back.

Just had spicy chicken tostadas. The shredded chicken had chipotle sauce and it was so yummy. It was flavorful but it was spicy though, so be warned. The tostada shell was not soggy, which was great. The service was really excellent too.

By far the most home cooked tasting Mexican food I have had. I had the breakfast burrito with chorizo and papas, it was delicious! I came here because of the reviews it had here on Unilocal and honestly they deserve the 5 star rating. Friendly staff and home like setting. You do have to wait a bit for your food but only because they prepare each plate when you order it. It’s very well worth the wait. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic casual Mexican meal.

Amazing gorditas! But the quesadillas are great too :)
–Con: small place so it gets really busy during lunch, so either call ahead or work around the normal 12−1pm schedule
–Extremely authentic food for cheap prices!
–I’m petite and ordered two gorditas which didn’t really fill me, I should’ve ordered another or a quesadilla!

It was lunch time and really needed some Unilocal finding a good spot. I went on searching and searching and found Gorditas. We pull up and it is literally a hole in the wall, and you know what they say about where you find the best foods… Well, we found it! We were greeted by the owner which was a very sweet Mexican lady that knew broken English. So we tried talking in Spanish til her son came and we went back to English. They don’t have much of a menu, so it was a lot of talking and asking questions. He was totally down to earth and nice. I ordered a burrito, and a Gordita, and to drink they had this mixture of fruit juice which was amazing! Soooo good! They brought out the food pretty quick and man, I have to say it was really good! Like legit, home style cooking good! They bring you salsa which added this yumminess to the burrito. Then they brought out the Gordita and it was seriously amazing. It tasted so good! It came with a side of lettuce and sour cream and I downed it pretty quick… Actually I think I downed all footprint you quick, lol!
I only have one complaint about this place– they have no menu! They have this thing on the wall but no actual menu. They should make one. Otherwise this place is awesome for home style hospitality and fresh food. If you haven’t swung by here. Go! Try it!

Best menudo and they give u hand made tortillas. The gorditas are really good to and the green chilaquiles are good not to spicy but if you want them more spicy just tel them but everything that my husband and I have had is good. The people there are wonderful, that’s a big plus for me

Quality is what this family run business is all about. They make everything when you order it which means waiting longer for your food. If cheap, quick, and poor quality food is what you’re after, then this place is not for you.
I ordered their tinga de pollo gorditas, carne asada sopes, and carne asada burrito. Everything was freshly made and tasty! Their agua frescas was also really good if you’re into sweet drinks. The family is very welcoming and friendly. If you’re not sure what to order, the guy at the cashier will gladly give you a rundown on what’s most popular on their menu and a list of his favorite items.
I was so hungry and enjoyed the food so much that I completely forgot to take pics of my orders. That’s okay! I intend to come back for more! Be patient. Their food is worth the wait.

We’re always searching for really authentic Mexican food. Gorditas was recommended by a co-​worker and Sunday was the perfect day to try them out as there was hardly any traffic.
It’s a family run business with incredibly tasty food. We tried the following gorditas: shredded beef in green sauce, chicharron, chorizo, carne asada, shredded beef with potatoes and menudo.
Everything was really tasty and good service. Place is small so you may need to wait.

On point! It’s like walking into my auntie’s house, LOVE IT! The gorditas are fresh and pipping hot! The flavor is superb if you want outstanding food come here! On my top 10 for 2015!

Esta muy rico este lugar es un lugar muy pequeño pero la comida esta muy casera muy bien hecha, muy al estilo mexicano, la atención es rápida y muy amable. Le pongo cinco estrella ademas por los precios muy accesibles, los jueves las gorditas al tres por dos!!!
