Hispanic markets usually tend to have better prices than their American rivals. Not this store. Prices are slightly higher here. The checkout lines were long and they only had two lanes open, think Wal-Mart. The cashiers were slow as well. When in the neighborhood, I’ll stick to my normal grocery store.

This review is for the jewelry place they have inside the market. My brother and I came here in hopes of finding him some plain black gauges from the jewelry store. When we got there the woman who runs the section was on her cell phone for about 5 minutes before she helped us. She got off her phone finally and decided to help us. She took out all the gauges she had and after looking through all the gauges we couldn’t find the type my brother wanted. She told us she had a new order coming in the next day and she would save the type he wanted for him and to come back tomorrow. We go back the next day and ask if the new order is in, and she said no due to an emergency and she would have them in the next day. That was understandable so we went home and decided to wait until the next day again… This time we decided to call and make sure she had the new order in. So I call and ask, and guess what? Once again there is no order. This was ridicoulous. She wasted our time and gas. I won’t be coming back here for jewelry. The service is bad and they don’t keep their word.

This is strictly a review of their meats. We have gotten the ranchera carne asada here for the last five years along with chuletas de res and costillas de res and have always gotten tender great quality meat. The meat here especially the carne asada ranchera is super tender due to the way the cut is not as thick and fatty as food4less and superior. Great prices as well for better meat than other markets.

This place is horrible. They have the worst selection of fruit and vegetables. The stuff looks like it was rejected by other grocery stores, seriously. I really don’t know why people would shop at that stinky store, and I mean that literally, as the east side of the outside smells like rotten animals. Why shop at El Tapatio when you can have better produce and from Food4Less or Walmart. I guess you get what you pay for. And if you don’t mind low quality food food, then shop there. I sure never ever will even tthough I live 3 streets away.

Pretty good mexican market… Its nice when you see actual cow feet in the butcher section. Thats when you know its OG mexican store.LOL. Actually walked around this place. Checked out the fresh food section, and fruits and vegetables actually looked pretty good. They have your basic fare, but also your ethnic veggies, and dry goods… Good thing i do like here, is that they actually have a little food place in the store, «la cocina», and they have all sorts of mexican food, from tacos de buche, burritos, menudo, cocido de res, and they make homemade tortillas.

this place stinks. i went in to get mexican bread and you’d think, mexican place, chain stores, they’ve got their act together, right? wrong. the sweet mexican bread was dry and old. which was totally depressing as parking outside was a pain and the place was overcrowded and loud. i felt like pulling a charlton heston and parting the seas of people before someone accidentally killed me with their shopping cart or i completely lost it with the aimlessly wondering crowds. their product selection is ok. i decided to do a run of the store and you know they have what any grocery store has, except in mexican. this is a highly targeted store. this is why i figured the bread would be good in the first place. took a stroll through the meat department and it felt dirty and some portions of the floor were sticky. must have been the cleaning department’s day off. if you have the slightest sense of claustrophobia, i’d not recommend coming here. never mind the product selection.
