American Legion

This is a cool dive bar, I arrived late after work to see some heavy metal bands. The place was empty which kind of ruined the atmosphere but every one was hanging out at the bar having a good time. They smoke inside so if you are not a smoker like me it will bug you.

Come have a beer and play some pool at the famous Legion and Bell Gardens, A very good place for the family and friends

This American Legion post is a place of musical history. A block from here is where Eddie Cochran lived. He rehearsed and jammed in this room. The house isn’t there anymore, but his spirit lives on in the walls of this American Legion. There are occasional rockabilly shows here and the public is welcome. I don’t know if it’s open to the public the rest of the time. The drinks are stiff and cheap, the bartenders are friendly and heavy handed. The sound system for shows is excellent and there is a big wood dance area. The patrons are cool and the music is always good. If you’re a fan of roots music and Eddie Cochran this place is worth a visit. Oh, smoking is allowed inside so you will go home smelling like smoke! Cash bar only!

Awesome spot and the drinks are priced really cheap. The security was cool and the bartenders were sweethearts
