Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

I love this chain. The restaurant was consistent with the other locations. The décor was a little higher end than some locations that have more rustic appearance. I love both concepts. This one emulated an old passenger ship with a lot of finely finished woods. There are some booths in the back that are a great place to sit if you have 2 to 4, quiet and looks like a ship berth including a port hole window. Unfortunately it had a view of the freeway and not the ocean.
We arrived on a Friday night at 6:45 a few days before Mardi Gras. So this was a popular place to be. We only had a 20 min wait. Lots of peeps in fashion to match the season of celebration. There was also a lot of drinking.
We always over order here because of the splendid selection of appetizers and entrees. I had Boudin and my SO had coconut shrimp. Both dishes could have served 2. So we ate half and took half home. The Boudin had a large serving of rice and the shrimp came with a slaw. The shrimp dish had sauces and dressings with an Asian flavor.
I had the Crawfish Étouffée, it was very flavorful with a deep dark roux with a definite crawfish flavor. For $ 24 the dish looked shallow and skimpy when it arrived at the table. I was not able to finish the dish because it was larger than I imagined. My SO had Pasta Mardi Gras. It had a delightful mixture of andouille sausage, crawfish and shrimp with linguine. Oh my, what a large dish. Yep, we took more than half it home. It was my birthday so I got a free dessert, which I took home. As we left, it looked like we did take out not dine in. Loved it.

The food was okay. My pasta madi gras was way too salty. Our waitress was outstanding. I wish I could remember her name. So why the two stars? The hostess was horrible. No greeting. Nothing was said when we were leaving. They saw us leave stopped talking for two seconds looked at us and continued talking. Hosting is such a hard job. Really.

HORRIBLE hostesses. No greeting, no smiles, just left us awkwardly standing as they finished their conversation. Same thing when one of them dropped us off at a table. She didn’t even look at us when she coldly «wished» us a nice dinner. Hopefully the rest of the evening will go better…

I wished I could afford to eat here more often! I love their lobster bisque. I love their fresh shrimp cocktail and I really love their seafood fondue concoction. It comes with warm hunks of bread bites to spoon it on and it is heavenly! I like the Bedford location. The only reason they didnt get the full five stars is the service is a little slow. But I’ll be back!

I have been at the Grapevine location a few times and really enjoyed it. So for my birthday I wanted to go there but to the Bedford location. How different could they be? Well I will never go back to that location for sure. We ordered our appetizer and then he came back to get our orders almost immediately. He brought the appetizer and our salads at the same time. I made a comment that we weren’t in a hurry and wanted to relax. But 10 minutes later he brought our entrees! We weren’t even half way through the appetizers and salads. We told he to send them back as we were clearly not ready and bring them when we are done. He brought them back and it was obvious they had sat under heat lamps but fortunately not dried out. What was annoying after that is he checked In every 5 minutes to see if we needed anything. Not a relaxing evening at all.
A good restaurant will not bring the next course until you are ready and let you enjoy your meal. It’s not like they had to turn over the table quickly because there were many tables open.

Today I had the Blackened Mahi that is topped with lump crab and tomato in brown butter sauce. It was so delicious! Unfortunately it is the last time I will have it for awhile as they take it off the menu during the months that the fish migrate out of their source’s fishing area. Today all Mahi menu items had already been taken off menu. But, I asked since I knew their last delivery was this past Monday and yes they had some left!
Also I learned today that the lunch menu is served all day even if you are not a «seniors over 62». In the past when I ordered the same as my Dad we both got the lunch portion and price even though menu says lunch menu 11 – 3 and seniors all day. Today at 5:30 I heard bartender ask young guy if he wanted lunch or dinner portion.

First off, the food was fantastic, but that was all that was good about it. I took my mother here for her birthday since she likes this restaurant though we have never eaten at this location before. I was meeting my parents there and I got there early, so when I first walked in, I approached the hostess, or maybe she was just a server up front, with long blonde hair and asked if it was okay if I waited at the bar. She just looked at me slack-​jawed, with a deer-​in-​the-​headlight expression. It was actually pretty comical so I just moseyed away before she had a heart attack.
When my parents got there, we got our table and ordered appetizers. 5 minutes later, the waiter, who was nice, took our orders. The appetizers came out with the salads, which was a little annoying. But then, before we were even halfway done, our main courses came out. There wasn’t even enough space on the table for all the food. It was very embarrassing. We sent our courses back and asked the server to wait. They left our food under the hot lamp, until we were ready, but thankfully the food did not get dried out. The check came while we were still eating. I paid, and we continued to sit and converse. Then a busboy came out, and stood right next to our table, waiting for us to leave. It was very rude. Also, the place wasn’t busy at all so there was no need for the rush. I would recommend a different location if you are in the mood for seafood. The one in Grapevine has much better service.

This is one of our favorite places to eat at when I. Dallas. I got a house salad and the Naked Mahi Mahi with dirty rice. It was very good, portion size was plenty. My husband got the Red Fish with a big bake potato and a Caesar salad. He enjoyed his as well. I don’t think you could go wrong at all. The waiter was excellent and the manager stop by to check in on us as well.

The appetizers were pretty darn good — crab/​spinach dip could have used more crab of course. Coconut shrimp were better. Lobster bisque outstanding. But the menu has sunk to defrosted breaded fried seafood or the cheapest fish in the world — farm-​raised tilapia n catfish mainly. Atmosphere? Same high prices — 50 dolls/​person total (no alcohol!) Go to the Pappadeux in Fort Worth or Arlington. Wife called it a Denny’s n that’s how it felt by comparison. Incredibly tiny tables… Just nothing like the other ones in this chain. I expected horrid service in a holiday, and we got it. Junior boy had too many tables and short in brains.

I would say our family is a regular here. I don’t know what changed but my French fries were cold they didn’t take our menus till the third time they saw us, got my wine before food arrived, not great service. Had to ask the waiter to take empty dishes Really need to train staff better. On a positive note the rest of the food was fresh and tasty. There oysters are usually a great deal at eight dollars for a dozen fresh Texas golf.

This location can sometimes be amazing and sometimes just ehh. Today it was In-​between. Had a end of the year party with my family and friends this evening. Great appetizers and great services. However, the dirty rice dishes is still salty since the last time I reviewed this location of pappas. It seems like the menu has also changed as well, I don’t remember the Mississippi O having crab and oysters in it, but the portions were great. I had about 8 – 9 oysters, a large filet of catfish and wonderful crab; unfortunately, the sauce on the seafood was very salty, mixed with even saltier dirty rice was a disappointment. I only ate 3 – 4 bites of it and togo it home. It was way to salty for me. The gumbo was also salty as well and very liquidity. Was gumbo always watery? It was my first time ordering it and will be the last.
The fried calamari is still good! Salad was great~ love the dressing. The new entrée «salmon with shrimp and octopus» was fabulous! I ate some off of my mother’s dish. Love the texture of the salmon. A++ the strawberry lemonade was alright today. Overall good experience, but I wish they would fix the taste palette of the dirty rice dishes. If dirty rice is suppose to be salty, the sauce should be bland, rich or creamy. Balance it out. I really miss the blacken Alexander ;-; there’s actually a new dish that has mahi fish, crawfish and dirty rice. It sounds similar to what I used to order but catfish, crawfish and dirty rice. Maybe I should try that next time and hopefully it’ll be similar to the old blacken Alexander~
desert was yummy~~ especially the key lime pie! Cheesecake was average, the bread pudding was pretty good and taste like pumpkin. I LOVE THE CRAB CAKES !
I recommend the calamari, key lime pie, pasta Mardi Gras, dirty rice alone, and crab cakes!!! Giving this 4 stars again because I really love pappadeaux~ a family tradition.

A little pricey but pretty delicious and consistent. I ordered a half dozen oysters (small, but delicious), the seafood gumbo (yumm, tons of flavor), and a side of their veggies and rice. A girlfriend ordered the seared tuna and she loved her dish. Service is amazing.

What impressed me:
— LARGE portions of perfectly seasoned and grilled seafood.
— The crab and shrimp ceviche was scrumptious! Served in a large fluted cocktail glass it could easily make a filling meal — especially with the crusty crunch-​chewy fresh baked French bread.
— The massive «skewers removed before serving» was about fourteen inches of grilled shrimp, scallops, salmon and crisp but perfectly grill kissed mushrooms, onions and peppers. OUTSTANDING
— Others at the table had crab-​legs, grilled salmon and assorted vegetables. The sautéed spinach was remarkable.
— No waiting — but we arrived before the crowds.
— Friendly service from everyone! Our waiter «Gator» was in training, but he charmed us and service was polished without «hovering».
— Music was good and kept at a conversation level.
— My twin brothers well traveled colleague from Atlanta loved the food and sound level.
— Close to DFW International and other hi-​ways.
— We felt comfortable here
Needs improvement:
— Remodel time! Very dated building and dining area. The interior and vibe at the Richardson locations is vastly better. Clearly more upscale at the Richardson Much closer to a Brennan’s at the Richardson location.
— Training or not, we had to flag down our server for drink refills. Other servers should pitch in as a team here. Reviews based on points make me nervous. But we were thirsty and needed more alcohol and iced tea.
We ate here because it was halfway between The Worthington in downtown Fort thriving glittery Richardson.

Went here recently for a meet and greet. I think I had ordered the tilapia plate with crunchy rice patties, veggies, and some sweet lentils, and I believe… also I had ordered an alcoholic drink… darn I forgot what it’s called… but it was good!
Our waiter was very attentive, and recommended some items on the menu to us.
The vibe and the atmosphere was very good! The restrooms were clean as well.
This was my first time to Pappadeux, and I do see myself coming back here in the future.
The only annoying thing about my food were those sweet lentils. Lol. No biggie.

Completely deserving of five stars. I’m not sure what problems others have had but our server Miguel delivered! Food was wonderful and service was quick. Our first time eating here won’t be our last.

Every time I come here the service and the food is great. I had the crawfish boil. Everything was cooked beautifully. This place has some of the best seasoned crawfish. Has a nice kick to it but not so hot that the skin on your young doesn’t burn off. Also one of the best parts about this restaurant is the bread and butter. I could have a whole meal of just those two things. Always come during happy hour you get some great deals. Their gator app is delicious

I’ve never been to Pappadeaux’s but I’ve heard good things from several coworkers. So, I decided to check it out after a rather unpleasant lunch experience elsewhere.
I asked the hostess for a quiet booth and she knew right where to sit me. I was placed in a booth in the back where the music, which was a bit loud for my taste, was only a distant jingle.
My server, Tate, gave me plenty of time to look over the menu and was very knowledgeable about the food. He answered all my questions and made a few suggestions. He brought out some bread and butter, which was perfectly fine, and a glass of tea while I decided.
I was going to order the crab fingers but the didn’t that item. I didn’t press to find out if it no longer on the menu or if they were just out. I ended up trying the frog legs which were delicious. They were spicy so whatch out! But, to be fair, they are supposed to be spicy. If you’ve never had frog legs, they really do taste like chicken but with a much softer consistency. Its worth trying. I could do without the sliced bread it came with but eating the meat on the bread was a bonus. Soft and crunchy, spicy and garlicky. I liked it.
I ordered a two pound live Maine lobster, because it I was in the mood to treat myself. Plus, for a seafood restaurant, how they cook a live or recently live food is a good indication of how good the cooks are. After weighing, they found they didn’t have a two pound lobster and offered instead either a three pound or two one pound. I opted for the two one pound.
Note: seeing the lobster can be a bit unsettling to those unaccustomed to it. It looks a bit like an alien face-​hugger when they bring it out. Be mindful of your guests. :)
The lobsters were cooked perfectly. They were cut down the middle and the claws were already cracked to make it easier for you to get to to meat. For those purists out there who like to crack your own, just let them know. The lobsters came with tomato and basil linguine which worked well together. It was fully cooked but you can also get it al dente if you prefer. I do but I enjoyed it as it was.
Some of the prices were a little high for the budget customer but there are still plenty of menu items in the ten to fifteen dollar range and the portions are generous.
Overall, I was impressed by the whole package. The service was excellent and the food was deliscious. I’m only giving four out of five because I wasn’t blown away by anything, but I will definitely recommend Pappadeaux’s.

I want to start off that I should have posted a review about how amazing our last experience was here. However, that experience wouldn’t have deferred me from this review.
Our server was fantastic, Danielle P. Great job. Absolutely great. I was a fine dining server, and I appreciated how attentive she was. However the experience ended there. We received «lump crab» & spinach dip that we never found any crab at all in, but it was hot temperature wise.
Next. The entrees. I got the exact same dish as I did last time except an extra (4) scallop. First time 3 huge jumbo scallops that were piping hot. This time 3 small scallops, less than 1 inch diameter and 1 mangled scallop that looked like someone took a bite out of and stabbed many times, which were also about room temp. Disappointed. Alerted our server and she went to get us 2 more small scallops. Then the sides… They were not even room temp. Cold. My husband scooped a bite of potatoes and the entire pile came off the plate all stuck together on his fork. What a bummer. The 2 scallops that came out after I was finished were hot and delicious.
I was really looking forward to this dinner because it was for my birthday, and it was just a huge disappointment.
The first time we came 2 months ago it was so amazing we couldn’t wait to come back. Now I’m pretty sure I don’t want to spend $ 100+ on a cold dinner ever again.

Since I’m in Bedford for work and have been staying at the hotel next door, I feel very confident writing my review as I’ve eaten here 5 times in the past 10 days.
You pretty much can’t go wrong. Everything I’ve had has been amazing. We get the house Greek salad to share before the entrees and its delicious. I tried something different every night and have been so pleased. The lobster and shrimp salad from the lunch menu sounds like a weird combination but it is super yummy.
Warning for those of you trying to be «healthy,» no matter how often we requested no butter, dishes were still cooked in butter. Seems like they just can’t help it! Also there is this amazing cherry beer that tastes like jolly ranchers and you must try it.

Came here because we saw a big sign for 5.95 for oysters so we had to stop in.
As we sit down it’s the first day for crawfish!!! So we had to get that too.
5.95 for a dozen oysters and 9.95 for 1.25lbs of crawfish what a steal!!!
We were seated rather quickly for lunch rush and we had our server Danny wait on us and man was he a great server. Came and checked on us refilled everything and told is exactly what was going on with our food.
The service was awesome and the food was delicious as always with great prices on oysters and crawfish can’t beat that
